That was great! I had no idea United had 747SPs. It was nice to see Varig. I miss them. My highlight was the Continental 747. Brilliant! Thanks for the video.
In fact, this video could be recorded in 1989 because the In fact this video could have been recorded in 1989 because the Japan Airlines logo of these planes at this time with the initials and the rectangle in gray and red was designed by Landor and launched exactly in 1989, even in this same year JAL It went from being Japan Air Lines to being Japan Airlines with the update of the air term in the name, being called that from then until today, I Love JAL. 😊😎💖🇯🇵✈️⭐
Absolutely stunning footage! Those Queens were so impressive! Thanks so much!
Agreed! Just awesome. My favorite TWA bird.
So much more fun than current day videos. All the quad jets! Thank you for posting!!!
Great seeing the Then TE Air New Zealand 747-219B which I travelled on as a child in 1986 from AKL via HNL to LAX and onwards to LHR on BA 747-236

That TWA landed at a strange angle.

Thanks for the video.
The sp s came from Pan Am and Braniff.
I wasn’t expecting this video to consist exclusively of 747s.
This has to be 1989, BA received its first 747-400 on 6/30/89 and the first flight was on 7/27/89 LHR-PHL-PIT.
Indeed. I was at Heathrow on 21/07/89 to see the simulatenous arrival of both G-BNLA and BNLC
Great video. I just wish there was more 747s
2:57 o Boeing 747 da saudosa Varig. Nessa época, o 747 era presença marcante nas rotas internacionais.
I like how the Qantas livery hasn't changed, simple and timeless after all these years.
Philippine Airlines' current exact scheme/livery is pushing 40 years now lol... And they were founded more than 83 years ago!
Back when airliners had interesting liveries.
TWA 747-100 the grandfather 😎
Thank you for sharing these priceless video!
Northwest Cargo’s 747 nose! First time I see it!
British Airways and the brand new B747-400!!
And another fantastic video from the past thank you again for sharing this with us!!!
R.I.P. PAN AM, TWA, CONTINENTAL and VARIG...victims of mismanagement and the era.
That's a whole lot of 747's
There are 2 747-400 British and Cathay. Didn't know they were already flying in 88. Thought they came in 89-90 only.
Yes BA took delivery of its first 744 in July 1989
Como é linda a saudosa Varig💙🇧🇷
Impossible that's 1988. The 747-400 did not enter service until early 1989.
Correct
Plus Cathay Pacific did not start the LAX route until 1990

4:34Nice shot with the United DC-10 and KAL 747 landing and taking off in the background
CHOICE!!!
I saw a 1990 model VW Rabbit. This had to have been fall of 1989. Regardless, it's a great video.
Must be late 1989. British Airways didn't get its first 747-400 until July of that year. Cathay Pacific got its first 747-400 not long after.
What is that "clicking" sound in some of the video/ audio?
That BA 747-200 8:25seemed to be comin' in very fast
What day in 1988 was this filmed?
It was in 1989 it was filmed
That UA was a SP.
Looks like 1989 or 1990 as British Airways took delivery of its first Boeing 747-436's in July 1989
would have loved to see more of the other types instead of all 747s
747SP
What is the model of airplane about UA??
Didn't Korean airline operate at that time??
yes they did
