Brilliant video and lovely to see more of Devon. The Lynton & Lynmouth Railway was my first ever train ride when I was a baby.

A really lovely part of Devon, I know it very well, and driving the coast road from Porlock to Lynton is one of the best in the UK. Thanks for sharing this trip with us. Cheers Bob

Great video! Nice steady shots, good lighting, and always great music. I was there about a million years ago; so it was nice to revisit!

That was very enjoyable to watch. Fantastic scenery, and a great railway up the steep hill. You did a great job at cinematography.

A first class presentation Tim. The stills and video worked very well together and the music suited the film beautifully. I've been all along this coast a couple of times and can remember the stream turning in to a torrent and causing much destruction in Lynmouth.

Excellent video…enjoyed the tour. I hope to go on the train to Lynton when the (being rebuilt) L&B Railway eventually extends to its new station. Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob, I'll be visiting the WSR and L&B in October if all goes to plan, it will be good to see both railways as it's been a while since my last visit. I'm pleased you enjoyed the tour. Cheers. Tim.

Many thanks Tim! I very much enjoy your video productions….you do excellent presentations. I am hoping to support the L&B as much as I can, even though my travelling days are much curtailed due to health problems. Incidentally, I have an indirect connection to Sir George Newnes and the publishing empire he founded. George Newnes were the original publishers of the hobby radio magazine called Practical Wireless. It was founded in 1932 as a general hobby wireless magazine and is still published nowadays but specialises in Amateur Radio. Newnes were a great producer of technical reading and eventually PW ended up being published in Poole, Dorset, where IPC (into which Newnes in effect was absorbed) relocated some of the publications as it was cheaper than London. Poole is very expensive nowadays as demonstrated by nearby ‘ Lottery Winners (and celebrity’s) choice site’ of luxury seaside homes is located on the Sandbanks sandy peninsula at the sea end of Poole harbour. I worked as Editor of PW for almost 25 years, retiring in 2013, and my publishers eventually retired themselves and sold PW to a publisher based in Lincolnshire. I look forward to your visit as a Devonian myself the L&BR fascinated me from boyhood and your video will make up for me not getting down there from my home in Bournemouth as much as I’d like. Many thanks and please keep up your world travels. Best wishes. Rob

@@atlanticcoastexpress Hello Bob, it's nice to know you enjoy watching some of my videos. I'm making the most of being able to travel whilst I'm still physically capable, although I'm approaching retirement, I will probably continue working a little longer to finance my adventures. Covid has caused me to cancel around 6 overseas trips, I'd rather be travelling than painting my house, although as I'm discovering it should have been done a few years ago before the damp got into the wood. Your connection with George Newnes is interesting, I'm guessing that most hobby magazines were created people by like him and most are now owned by one company based in Lincolnshire, what a wonderful reflection on all those people who created hobby magazines that most are still published today. Poole is a lovely town, I used to go there often whilst enjoying caravan breaks with my kids in the New Forrest. There has just been a News item on TV suggesting another lock-down in October, I hope that doesn't turn out to be the case. Devon was one of my parents favorite holiday destinations, often staying on a farm caravan site at Rattery next to the West of England mainline, I used to buy anywhere in Devon to anywhere in Cornwall runabout tickets and spend the day travelling as many branch-lines as I could - happy days. Take care. Tim.

Hi Steve, the tide was out when I took the video and photos, the scene is very different at high tide. The changing tides and weather can make photos taken from the same place can look very different, one of the many reasons I love photographing English seaside towns.....Tim.
