Assembling and Filling a Greenstalk Planter with our Trial Snacking Peppers

Vertical gardening is so important where space is a limiting factor like it is in our backyard. and the back deck was not really being used for anything, so we decided to see what we could do with the space, and see how these highly reviewed growing systems would work for us. in this video we plant different varieties of snack peppers that we are trialing this year. So far so good. Set up was easy, it looks sturdy and durable, and it saved us a ton of garden space to use for other plantings.
Snacking peppers that we planted are:
Lunchbox: Red, Yellow, and Orange
Delite: Ruby, Orange, and Lemon
Sweetie: Red, Orange, and Yellow
Fresh Bites: Yellow and Orange
Yellow Sparkler
Cupid Red Mini Bell
Just Sweet
Yummy

I have seen them for awhile but wasn't sure we could use them. So far they are great. We have one planted entirely in strawberries. Steven stops to get a snack everytime he walks by!

I think greens, herbs, and green beans are all awesome ideas. When it comes to container gardening, I'm always nervous about watering because if I get busy and forget for too long, the plants will get fried! I made a couple of self-watering containers this year though, and those are working out quite well. The Greenstalks seem pretty good as well.

Container gardening is less forgiving. We have some automatic water systems we set up each year and last year we even included the big pot on the front porch. It is so easy to get busy or have to go somewhere and forget. Self-watering containers would are awesome!
