    Myaquaponics has recently had the honour and privilege to visit and film the Papa Pesca Aquaculture and Polyculture Farm in Mozambique.
    What the founders (Piet & Kristina) have achieved in a relatively short time period is truly mind boggling. They have created a paradise, where once it was barren, infertile land.
    The Papa Pesca farm is on track to produce over 200 tons of tilapia in the 2022/23 season
    This documentary covers all aspects of tilapia fish farming, from breeding, fingerling production, grading and market dynamics. We share some of their knowledge so that you can make better decisions when you decide to enter the challenging world of aquaculture.
    We also look at their other complimentary farming, including poultry, catfish, fresh water crayfish and carp.
    Myaquaponics will be working closely with Papa Pesca going forward, to offer a Hands-on Aquaculture Course at the farm. Though no dates have yet been set, we are aiming for the first course to take place in the second half of 2023.
    If you are interested in attending a Hands-On Aquaculture Training course in Mozambique, or seeing our documentary once completed, please add your details here bit.ly/papapes... We will then keep you updated on a regular basis. Alternatively email henri@myaquaponics.co.za

    Piet and his team did exceptionally well with their Papa Pesca project! Farming in Mozambique is definitely not for the faint hearted. Well done to them and congratulations on a very well put together documentary.

      Hi Nicky, thank you for your very nice comment. It was a pleasure and a honour for us to be able to visit and film. They have truly created a paradise to be proud of. I remember the day when that land was still just barren grassland and part of the floodplain.

    It would be interesting to hear their thoughts on Sandponics and whether it would be a good way to filter the water and also create space for plants.

    • @MyAquaponics1
      @MyAquaponics1  Год назад +1

      I did inform them about Sandponics and how it could be used to grow vegetables and fruit for the staff and they may build a small pilot project. At the moment they have their hands full managing a large and growing tilapia farm .

    Great and educational but could you please allow other African countries to participate in this program to help in food sufficient for all Africans. Thank you for the consideration in advance.

      I am not quite sure what you mean. This project is in Mozambique, and African country. The farm was built with their own initiative. Of course, any body from around the world is welcome to visit them and attend a training course. Training course is of course not free.

      Hi, you would have to take a flight to the capital of Mozambique which is Maputo.. The farm is about 300km from Maputo. Arrangements for transport from Maputo to the farm would be done at the time of your trip at no extra cost.
