i remember watching this vid when i was 12 and understood absolutely nothing(besides, i'm not native english speaking) but for some reason found it funny. Now I realized how ironic this parody was. Loved this parody, guys! I think I was more teed off at her song and vid because the SECONDARY message of it which could be construed as a slam directed to the middle class. Sure it's good to be tolerant and generous and aware and not live in a BUBBLE. We get that. We aren't troglodytes.The problem is that she intimates that seeking anything such as the American dream is choosing a BUBBLE. Searching for peace , consistency and comfort isn't choosing to live in a BUBBLE when you have lived a rough life, it's EARNING solace without asking others to provide it to us. Was she also intimating that working hard for decades to be comfortable and to find some peace is something we should feel guilty for and are drones simply for wanting or enjoying achieving some fruition of this concept? Ms.Perry seems to have forgotten how the average, middle class person (of all colors, races and creeds) thinks and lives . It's quite easy to have a globalist, philanthropic attitude when her money is made from traveling the world from the inside of a chauffeured, body-guarded gated BUBBLE and yet still have tons of resources to spare. As someone who grew up in a lower-middle class situation and by today's standards will retire in a slightly better situation ( just middle-middle income and no where near as rich or as opulent as Ms. Perry) I find this whole thing an insult to anyone of any color , race or creed who wishes and strives to pull themselves out of what appears to be fated to them by circumstance. As someone who has been as generous and aware and has given as much money and time to charity as I have been able with my less than stellar life situation, I will not be made to feel ignorant ,uncaring and guilty for EARNING a somewhat peaceful, somewhat comfortable existence simply because others can't or won't! It's not a BUBBLE we seek, it's an existence that doesn't completely suck. Rich celebrities and artists should be careful of making their less fortunate citizens feel like crap because we want to preserve what little we have scraped up. She seems to have a thing about BUBBLES, fine! She should keep to the mindless BUBBLE gum pop to which she is better suited.
