What are you working on skate wise?
I just recently ordered some Rainbow Riders and can't wait for them to arrive!
Literally just trying to stride and make a bubble
That double duck dip!! ❤️
Spinning and doing one footed jumps
Downtown and spins
I appreciate your video because people tend to forget that not everyone lives in sunny california and we cant be outside as often !!
😓 agree definitely lol I live in California but not all parts of Cali stay warm and sunny😭
Yeah, I live in Iowa and it’s supposed to rain for the next two weeks... but I just got my skates and I really want to practice 🥺. This video was very helpful
I live in Alberta, Canada. It's winter 7 or 8 months of the year so I have to do most of my skating in the kitchen. Luckily my kitchen is pretty big
I live in bc and there’s like NO inside spaces to skate, my space is wayyyyy smaller than the small spaces people tend to have
I agree. It rains a LOT in Ireland so my tiny kitchen is gonna be where I learn to not die on skates.
perfect timing because my skates just arrived yesterday and it snowed a few days ago LOL
yeaaaah! Super stoked for you!
It snowed yesterdayyy
Same haha 😂
Omg!! Literally my same story. I live in Colorado!!
This is PERFECT timing. I just got my skates this weekend and I’ve been learning how to skate in my kitchen bc I’m too self conscious to learn outside lol
I've been doing the same thing, my kitchen is my skate space because I get to nervous that people are judging me if I skate outside
Don't let self confidence stop you. Every single skater had to learn and started off by falling too. We all get it. And honestly, who cares what strangers think. You're getting out and trying something new and that is amazing!
@@OhLanie thank you!! I find that very encouraging 🥰
@@ainoaguy My pleasure. I've struggled with self confidence and the anxiety it caused, most of my life. I spent so much time worrying what people would think of me that I gave up a LOT of experiences. I'm now 45 and a few years back I realized that there are only a VERY few people who's opinion of me actually matters and those people are myself, my husband, my daughters,my parents and the 2 best friends that I literally met in preschool. It was the most liberating moment of my life when I realized that if those folks supported me then I was truly free. Now I embarrass my daughters regularly when start dancing in a store or singing to them in the car with the windows down lol.
Please, get out there and do what makes you happy. I've fallen more times than I can count and no one has EVER laughed. Actually, I have had SO many kind people who would stop and help me up or show me how to prevent falling again.
Lol, me too 😅
"What is 2020? Are we supposed to be in shape this year?" 😂😂😂😂😂💖
Thank you!!! I'm a chubbier girl and not ready to outside and practice with my new stakes but knowing i can work towards building up that self confidence in my skating indoors is an amazing help hun
Girl me too! Go for it.
Did u make it outside yet??? It's been a year girl 💓💗
Same here. Hope it’s going well for you!
@@hunniedtea I actually fractured and dislocated my hip not long after in a tree climbing while drunk incedent and getting that sorted out first x-x But im gonna be cleared soon!
@@SebbyCha I'm so sorry to hear about your injury! Ouch! But also you sound like a blast haha, learning to roller skate and then getting in drunken tree climbing incidents
A solution to avoid tile floors. Go to the nearest Lowes or Home Depot store and purchase a 1/4 inch thick plywood, depending on the size of your s space. I purchased 3 4x8ft panels.🙌🏽👏🏽
Or the rubber interlocking pieces at five below or children's stores.
I've been practicing T stops, bubbles, and toe stop drills while I do dishes or cook in my tiny kitchen. I can also do like a half manual...idk what it would really be called, where you lift one toe up and the other skate is fully on the floor. lol
I love that!
Thank you. I broke my ankle and I'm starting again. I'm working on gaining confidence.
My mum broke her ankle last year, I'm trying to get her on a pair
About to temporarily remove the rug from my bedroom until it is dry and warm again here in Seattle. Perfect list of basics to practice inside. TYSM
Hi from Seattle 🙋♀️
I always tell myself I AM in shape, ROUND is a shape! Lol
I love this✨
Your hair and makeup today really just gave me the energy I needed to feel better. The way you present yourself is beautiful.
I'm so glad! Thank you!!!
@@QueerGirlStraightSkates Thank YOU 💜
Sharp objects or pans. I ended up going head first into a pan on the stove. It was clean and drying but still funny af!
You knew what was already on my mind🌈🙌🏽✨🛼 also I NEED your sweats!!
Awesome tips for small space skating. Love the sweat suit.
This is going to come in handy when my skates come in. I haven't skated in 20+ years and wasn't even really confident in it as a kid so that, on top of it being 100F outside every day, has me thinking that I would do well to just practice indoors until I feel comfortable.
This is gold! I don't have many suitable places close by to skate and the weather is not the best every day, so I've been practicing in my kitchen where I can do two small strides at best (and I've got tiles too).
But I'm a beginner so I've practiced getting up, stopping (plow and toe stop), some bubbles, picking up foot, picking up front wheels, and just getting comfortable with wheels on my feet. I get scared easily so having the counter there to "catch me" is helping, I don't even need to be holding it in most cases, but the mental "support" is doing wonders. Now you've added several more things I can try on days where I work long or the weather sucks. I think I'm gonna learn transitions next.
Thank you!
That’s awesome! Good for you. I would recommend getting some ¼ inch thick plywood sheets at Lowe’s or another hardware store to solve the tile grout problem!
OMH. In temps near over 100 this is exactly what I needed to get me back in skates.
thank you for this perfectly timed video for the CA lockdown and winter months!
right?! It worked out... like the perfect timing
Love it. Was wondering if I could practice indoors. I want to get comfortable enough to do some tricks. Thanks for the great suggestions. Right on time.
I haven’t skated in 30 years (and want to get back into it), but this is what I did as a kid. Found an old pair of my moms skates and would spend hours rolling around the kitchen. It’s some of my best “weird shit kids do” memories!!
Still in lockdown over here is Melbourne, Australia; always come back to this on a rainy day 💜💙💚♥️🖤💛
What? You’re still Lockdown? Why?? We (USA) haven’t been in lockdown in over a year. Then it went to wearing masks everywhere. Now everyone does whatever they want to.
Thanks for this! I got my pair of skates a few weeks ago but I'm currently pregnant so I'm not trying to take them outside right now 😂 but I've definitely tried them on in my kitchen to get a feel for them, so I can totally do this to prepare for actual skating later 😊
Congratulations 🎊 to new baby n new skates 🎉😊
Thank you for this one! We're in a super rainy week where I live, so I'm mostly trapped indoors. I just built myself a little 4x6 "skate floor" to lay in my living room, so small space drills are a very good thing!
Yes, perfect winter things
Wow! Were you a ballerina at one point? Your turnout is ridiculously amazing. (Hopefully you’re turning out equally at the hips to protect those knees! 😅) Loved all of this, Rebel. You have lots of things I haven’t seen in similar videos.
Just getting back into skating after just beginning this past summer. Want to exercise and practice for this upcoming spring :)
yesss! Get it!
Thank You for this! You're straight to the point, with the basics
Thank you for this!! I live in New England and it has been cold, snowy, icy, and salty out-- and only going to get worse from here, but I don't want to stop skating while I wait for it to get warm again!
Your content is RIGHT ON! Super thorough and your personality shines through!!! It’s fun as heck!!!!!!!! 🌞🌞🌞
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a video about plates. The different kinds of materials they’re made out of, the different brands and what type of plates are best for what type of skating. I haven’t found a whole lot out there on this subject.
I’ve been trying to research what kind of plates are best for park skating, more specifically what the best brands are so I can ask for the best for Christmas 😉
This is super helpful. I have the tiniest, narrow kitchen, but I could at least do squats and balance stuff. I will def be wearing a helmet though lol
Ok!!! I absolutely love your content!!!! You definitely rock! Got my new skates for Christmas and I will be watching your videos to learn. I will post an update shortly
Awesome! Thank you! Can't wait to hear how it goes!
You're the cutest. Thank you for the helpful videos.
Yesterday I got my first pair of skates and it went better than expected. I’m so happy. I’ve done the bubble thing forwards and backwards and also step up and down the side walk. So hyped to see progress. Your videos are super helpful.Thank you! I’m no going to practice stopping in my kitchen
Thank you for this video! I’m in Chicago and just started skating this year - all my practice for the next several months is going to have to be indoors!
Rebel, you're the best teacher!! I've been working on The Zero, backwards strut, a few different types of transitions, Crazy Legs, Heel Toe manuals, a variation of the Zero, and practicing skating on one foot in a straight line (I skate in a narrow hallway, so I do a lot of back and forth stuff, lol!) Oh and Slalom skating too! 😁😎
cutest trackies omg
This video was sooo helpful!! I've been slowly learning how to roller skate and I'm not confident enough to skate in an open area, so doing some of these exercises in my office has been really improving my basic roller skating skills, thank you!! :D
I was so psyched to see this video, because my skates just came in last night and I want to practice in my room. Love your videos!
I really like your energy! Kisses from Brazil 😊😘✌🏿
wow SO glad this just came on after the last video of yours i was watching! i just got my new skates and i;m still waiting for my knee /wrist pads to come in the mail. im so scared of shredding my skin outside, but i have been DYING to get skating! i just learned how to do transitions in the past hour just skating back and forth down my hall, this video is so useful for figuring out my next move to practice! thank u! i have a feeling im going to be relying on your videos a LOT as i keep going!
I absolutely love this. I'd love more drills and workout moves to practice while on your skates in small spaces. I can't skate outside right now and I'm living for small space skate videos. 🙌🏽💕🦋
This is a really great beginners video. Thanks!
This is so helpful! Due to the rain here in Istanbul, I’ve been practicing since yesterday in my tiny tiled living room. Thank you!
LOVE THE OUTFIT ON THIS ONE ‼️‼️‼️
Man, this seems like a situation where you might need your helmet. Lots of things to hit your head on if you fall.
Also, my downstairs neighbor would love this! Lol
Luckily I also live in sunny southern Cali and can skate outdoors almost any day.
I am hooked on your channel. Thank you for such great tips skating is so much fun !!
I just bought my first pair of skates and haven't skated since high school, but your videos, and the way you explain things, are seriously the best I've seen so far. I really appreciate all the time you take to share this info, because I really feel like I've learned so much!
Thank you for this tutorial my floors are exactly like yours and I was afraid to try anything but this video inspired me to try. Where did you get your cute sweats I love them?!!!
I love love love love this! I just got my fundaes yesterday and it was RAINING!!!! I rolled up my living room rug, moved some furniture and had my own little small space practice session! The weather was better today so I got to take them outside and all I can say is, "I'm in love". I won't say I love them more than my radar energy 57s because those were my very first true love wheel, but dang....these fundaes are something special. Thank you for your amazing videos as well as your never fail advice! ☮️♥️🐈
I love your look in this video🥰🥰 super adorable . Thank you so much for all the work you put into this! It’s definitely appreciated!!!
Super helpful. I broke my wrist skating, so this is a more controlled way to practice!
Off topic, but I love your cabinets' maze-like pattern❤
I need to practice T stops & transitions more.
Thanks a lot for these tutorials.
They help me learn skating even when I am at my home these days .
Keep on making videos and achieve great successes
Thank you so much for this! My skates will be arriving in the middle of winter and it gets cold 🥶 I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos to learn more!
Currently too chicken to go outside and skate in public so I've been doing small space practicing for now. I've done bubbles, learning to stand from the floor, balancing, falling and rolling into the garage door lol. Slowly feeling comfortable, maybe in Spring I'll go outside 😅
Nice video, rollerskating is the best. I’ve just gotten bored with the normal shuffle skating and started trying to learn roll Bounce
Darn I missed the live but great video thanks for the tips! This is actually the longest I’ve gone without skating-going on 2 weeks! I think thanksgiving slowed me down with all that yummy food. Time to get back on wheels!!!!❤️👍🏼
the greatest part is that skating doesn't go anywhere and will always be here for you.
Yeah, I like that it’s something I can do when I want, and go as fast (or slow) as I want. Also, how I get to learn at my own pace. :)
I can't believe it!! Thank you! I'm brand new and only have my basement right now🤣 It's friggin 🥶 out
Thankyou for all of your video tutorials, they help me so much and I love watching you!! You are so genuinely cool and I wish I could meet you 🤩 keep doing your thing!!
My kitchen is teeny too. I love skating inside the house. Vacuuming on wheels is special. Helps with spontaneous stopping and balance. Cooking while skating is fun. Don’t recommend moving anything hot while on wheels though. Dropping it can suck on many levels.
winter is coming for boston skaters, thanks so much for this video as i'm stuck learning in my living room!
TOTALLY THE VIDEO I NEEDED
I just got my roller skate now and I'm stuck in my small room thanks for this video
I'm so glad I found your channel! Love the content, thank you for taking the time to share (and I'm loving the song at the end credits)
💕🌻💕🌻💕🌻
Yep I do my yoga bench with my skates on 🧘♀️ 🛼
oooh love this!
OMG this is so dope. I'm in my kitchen right now and thinking of pushing the dining table and chairs out of the way to practice! Thank you! 😊
This tracksuit is iconic
Great vid! Fabulous looking skater too ijs
when you were laying on the floor like what is 2020 that was such a mood!!! also thank you so much for making this video. As someone who is trying to learn how to skate in the winter it was so helpful to see such a thorough video
Your sweats are so cute!
This was a great video! I’m just now jumping on the skate bandwagon and also have just a small, tiled space to use. The tiles aren’t laid very evenly so I got a pack of that vinyl plank flooring. It makes a nice little skate spot in my dining nook. Thanks for all the great tips here!
Thank you so much, I haven't put my skates in a long time and this exercise really helps to practice at home. Love U ❤
you are awesome, thanks for the videos!
I had so much anxiety when you started spinning super fast
Perfect! It’s getting really cold where I live.
Thank you nice lady! Excellent video!! 💪💪 just what i need for my kids 🥳🥳🥳
Omg trank you so much for this!!💕🌸
I love your channel name as a queer girl I approve 👍
Love this just got my skates and its raining ❤❤
New sub here! You are so great! These videos will be so helpful to me. I asked for skates for Xmas so when I start skating, these video will really help me! Thank you!!! xoxoxo
omg yay!!! Welcome!!!
Good information on skating in small spaces. I have one question. Where can I find that sweatsuit? It’s really cute
www.lovefrom1969.com they might be sold out right now, but that's where I got it from
Love your outfit!
I have a feeling that you can skate!!! Show your skills so we can get pumped up!! I would love to see you skating for real plz and tY😊😊🙏🏼🙏🏼
For your squats whether you’re on skates or not, keep your feet closer to hip or shoulder width a part so your knees do not move medial to the hip because that is a cry for injury such as an ACL tear.
This is so helpful, thank you!
Oh my goodness I need your outfit
love this cuz my outside area is destroyed by geese rn!!!
I bubble all the time 😊
Thank you❣️
Thanks for this
Love this video!!!!’ I’m in jersey and it’s snowing outside so I’m stuck inside my Lil apartment :)
great tutorial!! practicing now in the kitchen too! my floor is much worse than yours! but still!
Thank you so much, defiantly going to practise these moves!! Wondering, what kind of wheels would be best for practising indoors? I live in a place where it’s 4 seasons, so need some better wheels for practising. The ones that came with my Moxi beach bunnies seem to stick a lot. They’re 78a. Any advice?
I really want to learn to skate and I trust your opinion on the best skates to buy.... I know I'm older in years but I was paralyzed for a while and my faith kept me going. I'm learning how to moonwalk and Shuffle Etc. I have a 8 by 30 porch. It's kind of rough concrete but I was thinking about putting roll out vinyl so I could skate practicing. We have a skatepark in town but I haven't even thought of it as being for roller skates. I've been watching videos and I'm Amazed! Also I bought some ballet shoes and professional jazz shoes. I had to buy a size bigger. Do you need a bigger size and skates also? You probably don't read all your comments if someone that follows you could answer I really really would appreciate it.
a myriad.. that's hot! I am practising in my living room. :) thanks for the tips
I can do bubbles in my kitchen, no problem and really fun. Then when I go outside I panic and suddenly I can't do it any more 😭 I'm terrified of pebbles and debris
really practice falling safely! that way even the pebbles and debris will be nothing compared to your skills!
I’m that way skating outside in general. It’s so strange.
I did bubbles in my bathroom today!
thx u for the tutorial and tips, its really helpful :D
