Yeh same mine works fine. There is of course bugs, issues and certain problems but the owner has been updating it and fixing the issues and yup it's great for saving time

Yeh I will admit for quality and accuracy the roto brush is still the king but for speed and ease this is easier. Also this is the start of this plugin, eventually there will be better enchantments and hair refinements with high quality results

Using the Mask Prompter feature in After Effects even with hardware acceleration enabled was quite demanding. The rendering process for a 9-second cartoon clip took a surprising 39 minutes. This happened on a system with an Intel Core i5-10300H processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1650 GDDR6. But suprisingly using the color correction effect, it was rendered in 14 seconds.
Get a better computer, that setup is shit of course it’s gonna take your 30 minutes 😂😂😂😂
is there any way to make the rotobrush have a rougher outline on purpose? I want to make a stop motion video where it looks like the characters have been cut out of paper, but the super defined rotobrush wouldn't give that "rough edge" look.
it might be a little bit too late, but there's an effects called "roughen edges" that could work. Or you could duplicate the roto, use a fill, simple choker and cc composite to make an outline of the roto and then apply turbulent displace to it, then alt click random seed in turbulent displace seed settings, and use "random (4)", then precomp the roto with the outline, and add a posterize time to it, something like 2 or 4 should make it look like stop motion
I just tested this on my RTX 4090 system with the nVidia version. It worked and it was fast enough (much faster than RotoBrush 2) but I could not get a clean edge no matter what the setting. High Quality, Low, Med or High enhancement all had way too much chatter and movement in the edges. Used Matte tools with it also to try to help, like Key Cleaner, Choker, Refine Matte and those tools could not help or overcome the bad noisy edges until you choke it waaaay down and even then not so good.
Granted my footage may be challenging even for any 'auto' tool. It was a tree or several trees from a slow moving horizontal truck drone shot. The fine edges of the tree it could not handle. Neither could RotoBrush 2 even with the Roto Refine edge tool but Roto was better, but much slower.
In the end AE Mask Tracking worked perfectly and it tracked the trees perfectly with NO jitter. I have use Mask Tracking with people too with challenging hair issues and if they aren't moving too much, it worked great there also. Oh and it is lightning fast tracking those mask points, even many many points. Just create your mask as detailed as you want, feather, expand, etc then while on the Mask properties button bring up tracker and it will have your Mask ready to track with many options.
Are you talking about the native mask tracking in AE? Or another plugin?

Yes
They still have some kinks to work out - but the potential is there - it's been widely noted them having issues - I purchased and tried two machines to no avail.
From what I've experienced so far with after effects plugins like this one they're mostly from single developers or sometimes in a partnership with another person so I can image these bugs may take some time to be fixed but yeh it's still early days so eventually they'll be fixed. Also what system did you run it on?
I'm on the fence of purchasing it. What kind of kinks? I've been experimenting with the rotobrush, and I am far from getting good results. Mainly doing simple masks, like in this video.

why does it lag me when previewing. I'm using After Effects 2019. Even though I'm using a laptop with pretty high specs. please help answer sir🙏
I'll be 100% honest with you, the specs can be great but laptops have poor cooling compared to pc so the reason it's lagging is most likely because the heat is building up limiting the parts from performing at their best and the second reason my be your project, if it's a 4K video or if it's longer. It could also be your subject, if it's more complex. But yeh there's multiple reasons why. Also the first time you're previewing it, it will lag since it has to process the changes and settings. You can play it through twice then the third time you'll have a smoother preview

I've not been keeping up with the update log however i know there is other similar plugins that are for premiere pro yes

I've messaged the creator on twitter but no response yet hopefully if this videos blows up and enough people comment their issues the creator will notice and fix them. Best part is the bugs have already been found so all they need to do is fix them. Also yeh thanks for your feedback
It only works with nvidia and not with AMD right?
It will work with AMD but the plugin isn't fully optimised to use your AMD graphics cards full performance, it will mostly use your CPU for the processing and preview compared to Nvidia GPU Acceleration which basically means it will use a dedicated nvidia graphics card for all the processing for best performance so the preview and editing will be much smoother and quicker to load

Really? have you tried the point target tracking or what happens when you link the mask?
I bought it too and I can say it doesn't work the same as shown on the video. I just tried different videos where people dance. Well, it kinda works but really bad. I can probably waste more time to make it look better but I can make it better using rotobrush or manually masking if you know how to work with this. When we want to get new plugins we expect they will make your work easier and faster, but not like. I'd say it's pointless having this plugin, at least right now it doesn't work so good
What's the difference between the free trail and the paid one?
With the trial version there's this red cross watermark in the centre of the screen and the paid version you have no watermarks

@@cyklzycia8814 so if you want to do it without plugin you would use Rotobrush 3.0 to mask out the object then use hue and saturation to change colour by clicking "colorize" in the effect

How can i get the Mask Prompter?
Well, if using a mac with M1 I'd suggest avoiding it. I get a frame render time of 2,7 secs on a M1Max with 32 GB ram. So that would roughly be 9 hours rendering for my 8 min clip... Money NOT well spent.

This is honestly just a tool, my video isn't trying to fool anyone. I totally get where you're coming from but this is in it's early stages of development and of course there will be bugs, errors and problems. It may be slow now but these problems will be fixed. Also you can test it out without buying it with the free trial you'll just have a red cross on the video
Yeah me too just bought it this plugin is of no use. Doesnt even let you preview what you just did with the footage, I tried it on my PC then on my friends PC who owns a m1 studio ultra, same results there as well. I work on a project with multiple footages rotoscoped in a timeline this plugin froze the project LOL

Bro this plugin is extremely slow, i bought it 2 days back. The previews are so slow for even a 5 sec footage have to wait 5 minutes just to preview it.
What's your system specs? I'm considering buying it but these comments made me suspicious about the performence of the plugin.

This plugin has a long way to go. It’s not at all useable in the professional setting. Great potential though.

I can already see Adobe adding an Ai masking feature in the future but for now this is a third party showcase of the capabilities of using Ai in AE. It's a quick shortcut for anyone who is interested but completely up to the user if they want it or not
Don't say AI because its nothing to do with AI. This is just an ordinary and wasted plugin and does nothing but sit in the AE folder.

Yeh that's what I thought at first but if think about it as an investment; it's a 1 time only payment for a license with updates and GPU acceleration It's worth it for how quick you can cut anything out. Of course it's up to you but personally i like the flexibility between rotobrush and mask prompter because some projects you may need one or the other like for quick high quality projects I can use this tool and rotobrush if the project needs manual rotobrush work
