you are probably sick of this but how about some UK gigs! and more than just london and glasgow! just listening to "fall". truly fab. cant wait for the new cd!
Thank you for sharing your imput. The moon and the nightspirit-GREAT SONG! There's a hip-hop Rhapsody? I meant the Italian metal band. Try the song Legendary tales Hmm ... have you heard Serenity: Velatum? Here are some others: see what you think: Thomas Bergersen: Ocean Princess fairyland: the storyteller Van Canto: magic Taborea Blind Guardian: The Bard`s Song Within Temptation The SwanSong Loreena McKennitt Artesia: Eveil Et Desespoir Dark Sanctuary
Why don't you buy the CD or download it from a legal mp3 platform ? Even if this band deserves to be well known and well paid, this is not actually the case. So, SUPPORT THEM !
Found this band just the other day. Let me know if you'd like your suggestions. I'd be happy to hear yours aswell: (Égi Táltos is so in my favorites)! Amethystium: Strangely Beautiful
Well if you like this song i can ashure that you will like the other songs on the album and the previus one. Hmm , i would recommend Rebirth from the first album "Of wars in Osyrhia"
Can someone please name these singers? There are three different vocals in this song, right? Fairyland has so versatile cast so I can't figure out who is who. XD
i got to give it to iron maiden dance of death and freedomcall with carry on or, tears, rainbow but i think iron maiden and freedom call are great bands as well :) 2 different ofcourse but sounds sweet!
Please Help! I am looking for more gothic/metal bands that have a "bardic" feeling to their music. Think of Blind Guardian: The bard's Song and this one here. Anyone who can help, please tell me the names of the bands I should listen to :)
Sonata Arctica is too fast. Check out the Wintersong and their Stilla for example to see the difference. Basically Luca Turilli sounds like from TransFormers. Rapsody is a hip-hop band. You meant Rhapsody right? Rhapsody is actually quite cool, but I think that Psalteria is waaay better (check their Como Poden!) Also, see this The Moon and the Nightspirit - Égi Táltos, that is one amazing thing. But it's not bardic gothic thing, it is more of a folk...
I absolutely loved Fairyland's first album since it came out ages ago. Not sure why I got disappointed with the other two albums, but hearing gems like this off the second album...wow man I was so wrong! This song is AMAZING! Guess I'll have to give "The Fall of an Empire" another go!
The fact that half of the original band (specifically vocalist Elise Martin and drummer Willdric Lievin) quit the band after the first album was probably a big part of the reason for your disappointment, as their contributions to Of Wars In Osyrhia its distinctive sound. The second album still had guitarist Anthony Parker and the original songwriter/keyboardist, so there is still some degree of continuity between this album and the previous one, but overall there is a sizable difference in sound. Ironically enough, the band that Elise Martin and Willdric Lievin ended up forming upon leaving called Hamka is much closer to the first album's sound. Likewise, the latest album out of Peter Crowley's Fantasy Dream "Conquest Of The Seven Seas" features Martin's vocals and is also very close in character to the first Fairyland album. But definitely give "The Fall Of An Empire" another go, it's an amazing album.
Thanks for the response! This sounds crazy but I actually found the two other vocalists (from second and third albums) were stronger than Elisa Martin - so I'm not even sure what it is about the first album that I liked. I guess it was the compositions. I always tell myself I'll check out Hamka, but never have. I'll check it out for sure! Never heard of Conquest of the Seven Seas, so thanks a bunch!
My pleasure, the Hamka album is very good, though it's not quite as riveting as Of Wars In Osyrhia. My guess would be that the production and the songwriting style was what made the first album really appealing, all of those songs were written between 1998 and 2000 and then released as a demo LP in 2000 under the band name Fantasia and titled "Realm Of Wonders". Back then symphonic power metal was a bit more stylized and everyone was being influenced heavily by Rhapsody (Of Fire). If you ever listen to the Fantasia demo, you'll see that the album was basically finished 3 years before it was released, the only part that was a little weak was the vocals, which were performed by the drummer. Essentially Elisa Martin was what they were waiting for to move on getting the album finalized and released, as she had just left Dark Moor not long before. As far as Conquest Of The Seven Seas goes, you can find 2 of the songs from it on RUclips (it was just released about 3 weeks ago), and if you go to Peter Crowley's Bandcamp page linked below, you can sample the whole thing. petercrowley.bandcamp.com/album/conquest-of-the-seven-seas
Nightwish the Islander is beyond insane, and I love it. Before that Nightwish wasn't good for me. Within Temptation - I can barely make out what is this woman singing... But music is quite nice. Somehow, they sound too much like pop music to me... Magica - are you serious? Ancient Bards sound better. Btw dude, see Nox Arcana - Night of The wolf

My kingdom for anyone who can resume me Philipe Giordana's story of Osryria

For how much mana?
Sorry... Still thinking in MTG.
Good intros, but they sound more like Tanzende Kadaver than Faun later on. Too fast to be considered "bardic" like this song here.
No it's not. I listened to it and it is more like metal w/o any bardic feeling whatsoever.
