Do you have a video about the kind of insurance(s) you should have/need as a pet sitting/transport business like this? Just found your channel recently and love all your videos!
Thank you! I don't have a video specifically focusing on insurance yet, but I do talk briefly about pet sitting insurance in this video: ruclips.net/video/31jD1-sAybs/видео.html And I talk about pet transportation insurance in this video: ruclips.net/video/_wf2qtxSD80/видео.html I'll add insurance to my list of videos to make in 2024!
What if a client asks me to go with them to their holiday destination and it will be a road trip of 15 hours one-way with no option to fly, how do you charge for the travel time?
This would really depend on a lot of factors for me. I have a standard daily rate for long distance transportation and I will not drive more than 10 hours a day, so I would charge at least my daily rate x2 plus the cost of a hotel.
I talk about this in the video 😊👍 You need to price high enough to account for your normal daily rate for live-in style care PLUS missed wages from any other dog walks and drop-in visits you would be doing if you were in your normal service area. Your price also needs to include all travel expenses and travel time. There are some other things to consider here like if you will need to hire a pet sitter to take care of your own pets while you’re away and if you will have to rent a car, but this is where I’d start.
