    Hi Doug~ Renee from The Sterling Pooch Pet Services here. I thought I would chime in to let others know how my estimates can look and what they could include. Some of these are not for every transport. I wanted to give your viewers as much info as possible as I've come in way under on transports before and lost $$$. My estimate can include: airfare, airline pet fees (if needed), airfare insurance, car rentals (if needed), Uber expenses (if needed), hotels, gas, meals, parking fees, toll charges, fee for 2nd transporter (if transporting 2 or more pets), and my fee. I just quoted a potential client over $3,700 to transport 7 cats from CA to GA using 2 transporters. Transporting pets across the country is not cheap and I do all I can to save the client money where I can. Again, it was so nice seeing you, and thank you for the shout-out in your video.

      It was so great to see you! Thanks again for driving all the way to Oklahoma City to see me, and thanks for sharing how you do your estimates! Can’t wait to see your new book about traveling with pets!

    I want to do this! I have a dog training/pet sitting biz, but love traveling. I lose bookings when I travel, 😢 but if I can make money and travel, that would be a dream!! 😍

    Hi Dough, great content . Thank you so much ..... I have a question how do you clean your pet taxi. I understand for basic stuff like cleaning fur and other mess a carn vacuum can do the job. How do we deal with sanitizing any chances of tick transfer and stuff. Is there any process you follow when you have a back to back trip incase of intracity service?

    Hey there! I’m new here - and I love your videos!! I just started my own in house pet sitting business😊
    I tried to look through your videos to see if you had any that were specifically about taxes and policies, penalties, laws, etc. - I didn’t see any - I might just be missing it though. I realize it’s different per state (or even county)… But I thought you could maybe deep dive into like how you claim your taxes, doing quarterly reports, scams, formatting for submitting government paperwork….basically like an episode really geared towards the financial/business side of things? I’ll keep looking myself to see if I just missed it. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge though!!

    Great video, Doug! Are you finding the pet friendly hotels/motels a mixed bag? 😂 Lol no not rain!! Haha. That seems like very involved work! That’s good you haven’t had to use your first aid kit! I had to use mine last month. All ended well. Looks like quite the adventure! Glad the cell service thing worked out. :) AAA seems slow sometimes. Thanks for the flight tip! Oooh no…wow you lucked out being near the OReillys and help from Wilkinson. Wow Doug the fun never ends huh? 😂 All the best to you!!! I’ll definitely recommend you for long-distance pet transport. I’m only interested in doing local transport. Have fun on your next trip!

    Wonderful information! I'm starting my journey in this business, and want to know if you personnally have first aid training for pets? As a nurse, I feel I should take a course and be prepared for any emergency. Also, what do you do if the pet becomes sick and requires vet care?

    • @DougtheDogGuy
      @DougtheDogGuy  3 месяца назад +2

      I have taken a pet first aid and CPR course and highly recommend anyone working with animals take one. And we go over emergency plans with the client before we get on the road, and our contract gives us permission to go to the nearest veterinarian and make decisions if time is of the essence and the client is unreachable.

      Hi Doug! I love your videos, and I'm starting out as a pet transporter.
      I'm also part of the LGBT community, are you aware of any networks I should join or resources I should be aware of to help get started?
      My dream is to find an RV to live in and work from.
