Hello from Australia Gordon.. Just discovered your channel. I'm an Aiberdeen born loon who had family in Collieston and I used to walk to that beach countless times past Hackley Bay. I remember an endless row of salmon nets there obviously long gone now. I don't miss the cold but i do miss that stretch of beach all the way past Balmedie and Blackdog to the Toon, wonderful memories. And thanks for being yourself and spikkin the doric, I don't hear it much now and it is like music to my ears, take care.
@@ripgeorgie3156 Fit lyke Georgie, thanks for yer comment, Collieston is a bonnie place tae beyd, you must hae enjoyed yer visits there, I remember aaw the salmon nets up and doon the coast aswell capturing very large salmon and sea troot. It makes me happy to trigger such memories for folk, thanks ma freen, I hope 2025 treats yea weel
Twa hardy men, you both handled that long walk and fishing a cold Scottish beach in minus 8 like I was fishing on a warm summer day, can’t fault your efforts to put out great videos thankyou, don’t tell me you both broke a sweat in that sun
@@ronniearchibald Thanks Ronnie, much appreciated ma freen, the frost was nipping at ma feet even though I doubled up ma socks with kilt socks on tap, the lang walk while loaded up with gear kept us warm, I actually did take my jacket aff a wee while 😂 when the sun was at it’s best. We were both just happy tae get oot fishing between the coorse wither. Hope this year is good tae yea pal 🎣🐟🐟🐟

@kintakintyea I stay in East Ayrshire, but my daughter went to university in 2008 and became a teacher staying in Aberdeen. I remember we went walking over the sand dunes at Balmedie before Trump came to make the golf course. We could hear the crashing of the waves as we made our way over the dunes and then appeared this vast stretch of beach, it was amazing. Not another soul was there and I felt like Robinson Crusoe, ready to find man Friday"s footprints in the sand. Used to go up to Newburgh as well. I loved going to Thainstone Sunday boot sale. Best regards
