- Meet the Allosaurus, The Most Abdundant Theropod of Late Jurassic North America.
This Theropod made up most of the carnivorous fauna in the Morrison Formation.
Its reach further expanded to the Lourinhã Formation of Portugal, where it also occupied a prominent part of the food chain.

The Clip at 10:18 is GOLD💪
Also a question for you guys, Anyone got a shout for a Dinosaur more abundant/succesfull than the Allosaurus🤔 (cause I haven't)
imo psittacosaurus was probably mroe abundent or jsut as abundent as allosaurus, and im preety sure there are around 19 species of psittacosaurus wich are found all over asia.
I love psittacosaurus, prob my fave dinosaur
Not Bad, good choice from an abundancy-perspective, but can you also name another theropod that would suit this criteria🤔
@@MegaRaptorEN maybe there was an abelisauroid that was abundant in Africa
Maybe or do you know👀
T-Rex, because apparently the out competed all the other medium and large sized carnivores in their ecosystem - something Allosaurids didn't do. It's a mystery why, and I'd love to know the answer.
Epic video on an epic dinosaur
😎Thank you
Thnx for making a video on ALL........he's a favorite
You're welcome and yes I agree
Allo didn't try in the far East as it will get killed by Yangchuasaurus. It was broader bigger Tiger of the east
@@vladline1882 True but it didn't need to, It already had wide distribution within North America, Europe (& potentially Africa)
@@MegaRaptorENPersonally I think a population at least definitely lived there at some point but the question is whether or not an entirely new species of allosaurus lived their and what sort of adaptions it had.
True, but Metricanthosaurs (Yangchuanosaurus & Sinraptor) were the dominant predators at that time and It is highly questionable if an Allosaurus species could grow as big as in Europe/North America, because the Shaximiao Formation ecosystem is also highly competitive.
I thought we were gonna be talking about Inostrancevia alexandri. So dominant it dominated from beyond the Great Dying, and still dominates today
Not a Dinosaur☝️, but you are right, Therapsids did and still do well
Also, I did already make a Vid about Inostrancevia: ruclips.net/video/5l3JKKPCt6I/видео.html
@@MegaRaptorEN that's just how powerful Inostrancevia is dude, it doesn't have to be a dinosaur to win.
You should get the PNSO Allosaurus figure. It's still the best Allosaurus figure on the market.
edit: i should've seen more of the vid, mb
Anyways great vid!
Thank you and Don't worry, sometimes we can't watch a full video, whether we don't have time or somethin else
Well saurophaganax and torvosaurus just oblirates it
@@Aorun7 In a 1v1 I agree 100%
@@MegaRaptorEN theres no proof allosaurus hunted in packs so yeah
before i watch this video or read comments, its about saurophaganax right?
Nope🙃
@@MegaRaptorEN the intro made it sound like u were gunna show something better than allosaurus, and saurophag is basically beefed up allo🤣
Ahhh yes allosaurus fragilis "diffirent lizard" the jurassic beast roamed north america though weak bite force it uses another method usinf its mouth like a ax its skull is very very strong it bleeds its prey out then eats it very scary no? Btw what would win different lizard or saltrio gladiator btw i love the vid u deserve more subs fr
Thank you so much, Matchup between A. fragilis and S. zanellai is very close, I'm not sure about it myself.
Also, I didn't mention it, but the ax-bite is now outdated, cause the impact is way too hard on the jaw. Flesh-grazing on sauropods or attacking prey over and over again with it's teeth and letting it bleed out now seems more realistic.
@@MegaRaptorEN ahhh i see
