You have to teach the live version of Big Wreck's Ian Fletcher Thornley's song How Long. This the link to the video of him playing it at the 2016 Suhr Factory Party ruclips.net/video/jAXhKChVzi0/видео.html . It would be so cool if you could make a how to video on this.
Its wonderful when I show people how to pick out melodies & turnarounds because when they learn those 2 things. Then they have the ability to embellish & improvise & that makes the people love u even more. I dig it man. I really dig it.
You and justin have best lessons. You tell what you did, how you did it and everything. Most of lessons are just slowed down solo which doesnt help that much. Great work and countinue doing your lessons.
Fantastic lesson! Captures that Freddie King feel and tone perfectly. I know the Clapton version inside out, but not this one. I love the way Marty presents this. Breaks it down very clearly. Easy to follow. I've subscribed!
Marty, the working man/woman's teacher. Simple un pretentious way breaking it down making it easy to get it, kinda a guitar for dummies and it's very effective and appreciated.
Amazing lesson! I love learning stuff more advanced and interesting than just the twelve bar blues.I also liked that you taught the lesson quickly instead of having the video 20 minutes long or more. This lesson is again, amazing!
Great lesson as always I remember the first time, I heard this song was at a little club in New Orleans in late 70's when Buggs Henderson opened for Johnny Winter. He slayed it Very nice ax by the way! Keep up the great work
Dear Marty Just wanted to say that you are quite the inspiration and that you taught me alot wit your fantastic lessons, all the way from Guitar Jamz. You are a celebrity to me, a lecturer of the great and a master of music. Rock on Marty, rock on!
One of the first things I tried to learn on guitar and I still don't have it learned. Good lesson though, and maybe this will get me to the finish line on learning this. I keep going back to it because it's so cool. Love how Marty brings in to Blues concepts so it makes more sense.
Marty; could you do a lesson on roman Sky by avenged sevenfold. I've looked for tabs but your the only one that I can understand when it comes to playing guitar
Thanks so much Marty for always being there when I need to learn a song! Is there more to this song that you teach further cause I feel we have a few more bars of it that has not been included. Thanks LeRoy.
marty, you never got to the "magic chord" on the 12 fret area, for the turnaround, after the bass string boogie..that is the coolest part of the song..
Would love you to make a lesson on Ain't Wastin Time No More - Allman Brothers Would like both the chords and the slide part of the song. Similar to your One Way Out. Love your lessons, it is always great to see a different way to do a song I have been playing for years.
Oh...love a bit a Freddie king blues Marty thanks.now I've asked you this before any chance of some wishbone ash (some time world )may be or king will come or the like. They are a small band from England but the blues rock they play with twin guitars and stuff, you would definitely dig it Marty 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Been a subscriber for many years my friend.....I can always depend on getting something out of your lessons!....and your salt n pepper beard looks as cool as mine..haha!😎✌️
Sooo So good. Unfortunately I taught myself this song by ear, listening to SRV playing it, and got it completely wrong... I have now unlearned the wrong, and learned the right! Any chance you could go into some detail about right hand technique? I'm just starting to realise the advantage of picking either up or down (as opposed to all down strokes) depending on the flow of notes and my right hand could really use some help! Thanks!
Hey Marty. I want you to first of all thank you for these lessons. If it wasn’t for you, idk how I would have learned. 3 years later and 3 guitars later..I don’t suck majorly..just medium amount of suck is my skill level. Ive a request for you. “Cool Cat” by Queen. I almost have it down but something sounds off. There’s not a single tutorial. And the open chord tabs just doesn’t jive with me. Awesome thanks man.
Hey Marty if you’ve ever got time and could do a video on I am a river by the Foo Fighters it’s be much appreciated! Love your videos man they’ve helped me out so much keep up the good work!
One of the first Blues songs I learned. Freddie King’s version. However, after nearly forty years I still can’t get the B7 turnaround correct. The trick is listen to the original recording repeatedly.
