Austin Westminsters of the mid-fifties were dubbed "cow hips" in reference to the rear styling. Even though I've looked at Mk1 Consuls before I hadn't noticed until just now that there's more than a hint of "cow hips" here as well. It must have been fashionable. And who doesn't love a car with eyelids that purrs.

My dad owned one of these when he was serving in Cyprus in 1957, we travelled all over the island in it. The engine sound still evokes memories.
I had one of these for my first car in the 60's. Loved it.
Perfectly restored (not over restored) exactly as it would have appeared in 1955.
