Worked on this site near end of project . Alot of people worked on this site and still admire the building for its astetic and artitecture. It was even more the memories and experiences of the people that I met along the way on this project and memories that will stay with me forever. Not just a building Thankyou to the team that bought this project to completion.
LOL! For just a second I caught a glimpse of "The White Lady"!!! Many memories of late night and early a.m. pie and peas back in the day. Nice to know some things remain.
Has there been any changes to the nearby seascape skyscraper development? I’ve been to Auckland twice in the space of 6 months and haven’t seen any change in between then. So just wondering whether they’ve decided to put the project on hold? (hope not I think the skyscraper will be a nice addition to the Auckland skyline)
Kia ora Arunan, there’s been some action there in the past month or two. The project had hit some delays last year due to the basement concrete (reported in the media). In the past few weeks some steel structure has been erected above ground level so looks like it’s cranking back into gear. Agree it’ll be an exciting project - design looks cool! Cheers
Kia ora Markab, hope you're going great! There was some media coverage last year about the penthouse being subdivided into 3 apartments, but unclear if that's happened yet. You could try the agents who are marketing it?
Went for an apartment viewing there. Mind blowing facilities. Only con is the hotel construction has stopped and I am not sure if that means 6 floors of ghost town?
Kia ora Nico, good questions. I believe recent advertisements for Pacifica apartments have been sitting just over $15k psm. Unclear on Seascape as I’m not convinced that they’re fully marketing yet as assume they’ll hold back on some until completion. I think they each have pros / cons. Personally I like Wynyard Quarter due to the urban design and community, but you have to get your head around the prepaid leasehold (which most people are not worried about).
Kia Ora Chris! Thanks for your response. I've seen Seascape's website. They have a starting price there for their Stu, 1BR, 2BR, 3BR and Penthouse. They just didn't include the floor area for those units that's why I can't compute how much is it per sqm. I also like Wynyard Quarter but I like high rise and I'm really impressed with Seascape's building design. I bet the harbour views from Pacifica and Seascape would definitely be amazing. That's why I like them better than Wynyard. But I think Seascape's value proposition of having all of its units face the ocean view is really something. I think that's their main edge compared to Pacifica. I'm just curious if the price of Seascape is way too high compared to Pacifica
So Pacifica and Seascape is a leasehold property? It means it's not perpetual ownership? I'm not familiar on the types of property ownership in NZ as I'm a foreigner. If it's leasehold, for example I bought a unit at Seascape and then I decided to sell it after 20 years. Can I do that? What if I still own the unit by the time the leasehold expires, what will happen to my unit then?
@@Nico-ze2gl Kia ora Nico, as far as I'm aware Pacifica and Seascape are freehold unit titles (so perpetual ownership). Wynyard Quarter (eg 30 Madden) are leasehold with prepaid ground rent - so no ground rent, but the property reverts to the original owners at 125ish years; they'll still be saleable throughout (e.g. if you wanted to sell at 20 years).
@@Nico-ze2gl You'd need to get full details to check price rates. At a guess I'd assume that Seascape would be marginally more expensive if anything because it will complete ~3 years after Pacifica (so there would likely be an element of cost inflation in the development cost).

Extra note: you can see a bit of the red coated steel at 0:12 at the bottom-left of the tower crane....
Yeah don't really know what's going on with the company that's constructing it because of covid
Kia ora Chris, hope all is well, quick enquiry is the super penthouse still available in the original sqm, or is it already subdivided? Thanks 😊

Kia ora Terjot, I recall hearing the hotel spaces are being offered as small office spaces instead? Cheers
get inside!! please
How much is Pacifica's current price per sqm? Also how much is it right now for Seascape? Which apartment do you think is better?
