Hey Dan just wanted to tell you I don’t watch your videos much anymore because I’m doing so much better. I was once suffering from 50+ debilitating symptoms and I hung on your every word every day. I as get more of my life back I no longer have to watch all your videos since I know what has caused them I know how to respond to them. Thanks for all you do. God bless
I’m out in Glasgow city centre trying to shop for shoes for my son trying to ignore/down play some pretty colourful symptoms. At least I’m out I guess. Even went to the busy food court in St Enoch’s centre so proud of myself even if the symptoms aren’t shifting. Thanks Dan
Focus on life again! You get what you focus on! Just go do Life. Overthinking the symptoms really keeps them flared up. Think less and DO more. It’s harder to think about your pains when you are doing other things. Just the concept alone is calming to the nervous system. If you don’t believe it …it won’t work for you.
It's been hard to talk about way I don't walk very far or go to various social gatherings because of how weird I feel. I look normal but my feet and legs are so uncomfortable as well as my eyes. I feel like I need to say something because people don't understand why I'm so withdrawn. I've really struggled with belief but I've finally crossed that bridge. Met with Dr. Schubiner over a year ago. Thanks for your videos.
Hi Dan yes I speak about the sensations less and less. To Martin I never speak about them and he doesn't ask so that is good. When I do speak about them I say they are colourful sparkling etc or it is a challenging day. I dont speak about the sensations in a specific way nobody will understand anyway😊. I live my life the best way I can and trust the process that I will recover. Ty Dan happy to see you at your beloved lake❤ sending you much love and to all of you here on RUclips ❤🌷😁🥳🥰❤️🦔
I was taught "words have power - use them wisely....." 💜 Love your descriptive words of colourful and sparkling ! ✨️✨️✨️ They don't conjure an image of fear in me ! ❤❤❤
I don't talk about my symptoms. Because I don't want to look weak or be a downer, or as you said perpetuate them. But also it's a bit of a double-edged sword for me because I feel like I'm not "allowed" to be in pain because I don't want to look weak, which is definitely creating some extra pressure there. I am sure that if I got so desperate, I would go for support, but I probably wouldn't tell my family because I don't want them to worry.
I really appreciate how much nuance there is in these videos. That you care for each aspect of the situation so that it’s totally inclusive of our well-being. Thank you!
Great advice! We are what we think. Sounds simplistic, but it's a big element of pain. Keep your mind occupied. My perseption of my symptoms subsides when I am playing guitar or watching hockey or baseball. Yes, pain is all too real, but don't reinforce your pain by overthinking because the more you talk about your symptoms the more you will feel your symptoms. I push myself to walk almost every day with my wife, it hurts, but it feels food mentally (if that makes sense). Keep telling yourself you are feeling better... our mind thrives on positively.
Dan I would appreciate if you could do a video on the fact that we are surrounded in everyday life with perceived danger. I see everywhere talk of war, violence, cancer adverts, murders etc... this surely must not be good for people who are succeptable to PDP. Thanks, Wayne.
@@rachelk5272 I try not to watch the news but everything else just seems to be thrust upon you without you having a choice. Obviously we have a choice whether to buy into it but I still think it's wrong. When you see it, you seem to see it everywhere.
Hey Dan, in 2020 I watched your videos daily as I went for walks in the morning to try to stop my pain from taking over my life. I’ve had a recent flare up and it’s hard not to fall back into the cycle of overthinking. Thank you for making these videos
Hello again Dan! This video is great for me!! I understand this can also apply to stopping watching videos about TMS or reading about TMS. I watch all your videos and I've already grown fond of you hahaha but maybe it's time to "let go". However, when you finish your book, I will read it and it will be like my holy grail!! hahaha
Before this video came up - I saw a quote online by Dr Bruce Lipton that said: "Most illness is just stress from not living in harmony....." To me this concisely says what Dan teaches every day... Our "illness/pains/symptoms" are the stress result from PDP - and not feeling safe / living in harmony..... Very wise man Bruce Lipton and also Dan.... ❤❤❤
@@Inge508 I agree... ❤ I believe loving and accepting ourselves unconditionally and being able to give love unconditionally is a big part of life itself - not just about recovery from pain/illness etc... If love replaced every piece of negativity (regardless of what it's about) - our lives and the world would be such a beautiful place.. ❤❤❤
I don't recommend for or against it. It's a tool that others teach. Some find it useful, others don't. I don't teach it because it's not my process and many get well without using it. That was not part of my cure. Try it and if you like it and it helps, wonderful.
What is your advice Dan for us who need reassurance when symptoms return? Shall we watch a few of your clips we liked and that’s it? I think twelve mistakes is great, but problem is that things keep popping up on your tube and negative ones!
Another great video Dan! In addition to developing mindfulness we might also learn to talk to our "self" in reassurance language (not a pull yourself up by bootstraps or toxic positivity talk) rather than seeking that from others which is usually why we talk about it. These issues develop often from the fear inducing traumas experienced in childhood and the accompanying lack of being healthily soothed by the caregivers, so becoming your own inner re-assurer and self soother is long term effective and not just the short term relief of talking to someone else which doesn't give us the inner state to resolve what is going on inside our own minds.

Who else HATES all these pharmaceutical ads on tv and in every magazine and more?!
Yes it’s very annoying and even more annoying is so many people buy into it and believe all the fear messaging

Keep it up
Imo a lot of therapy starts with the premise we are broken. Imo most anxiety and depression is a misunderstanding of body and mind.
Such as calming view. I got out early, beautiful blue skies here in London. However it clouded over and a quick shower. Only constant is change , PDP.

They have shifted to ocd about how sexy I am haha , is that a good thing ?

How not think about them, i want but almost not possibel .
You can’t ignore the symptoms and you don’t have to. You just don’t have to talk about them all day. That’s a challenge when they are very colourful
