- UC Davis art professor emeritus Wayne Thiebaud talks about being an artist and a teacher of artists in this retrospective. Former students and other art professors comment on in his influence.
I am so envious of anyone who could have taken classes with Thiebaud. What a great opportunity. The videos i have seen with him speaking even at 89 he's vibrant and articulate, expressive, and surprising self-effacing. it makes me so glad i saw the show at San Jose Musem of Art today. His show is there til 7/4/10 and it is wonderful.
I was a student of Wayne's from 1973 to 1978. Wow! As great a painter that he is, he was an even better teacher! So inspiring. Always gave honest but helpful critiques!
When I grow up, I want to be Wayne Thiebaud!
My mom went to his class in 1967 at Davis. She still remembers how great and down to earth he was.
Wow its nice that I got to work where he played tennis at and when he talked I learned
a whole lot from a man that never let fame get to him
"I see it differently than when I painted it." ~Wayne Thiebaud AMEN...
"work...as a kind of paradise".........that is an idea I have to work to get my head around, but I like it.
Wayne Thiebaud owns.
