oh no, your conversations in italian are actually the highlight of your vlogs! I learned so much from watching you guys and Luca & Sara. I like your make up & cooking videos too. Like they say, Variety is the very spice of life! It's okay to switch things up till you find what works for this channel. You don't need to change anything and I look forward to Carlo's DIY tips
It would be great if Carlo does his part of the video showing his skills as a handy man, he knows how to build anything, he's so good at anything and always with such a relaxing and positive vibe! I love Italian language, never mind reading the translations! 😊
I enjoy listening to the Italian and reading the English in subtitles. It may be more work for you and I can appreciate that, but in case you never hear the comment the other way around I wanted to add it. 🙂
Nikki I love Carlo speaking in Italian. It adds texture and a nuance to your videos which set you guys apart from the crowd. I hope you will just continue to keep it natural between the 2 of you.
I am not her, but my research has shown less is more. Nothing cakey, light pinks on the apple of cheek and a bit on eyelids, a soft fill in on the brow, and a tubing mascara should be all we are using. We must use spf above all else and quality skincare is key. And remember, you are always lovely if you have love in your heart 🤗🤗.
Haha love that you have make up that long… having worked for Mac for 24 years I still have my vanilla pigment , still full to the brim and I use often…. Don’t try this at home kids 😂😂 😂 and like you I love The ordinary and the Mac mascara… love it , especially as a contact user it can be removed with water, but it lasts really well. Especially as I am living in hot 🥵 Dubai. Lovely to have a true make up artist speak about make up and the name of the paint pot is vintage selection… great colour. Sending you love health and happiness from Dubai ❤
What a breath of fresh air you are!! Such a wonderful and welcome change from watching so many make up influencers on youtube, who sit there with a tub of gifted, very expensive products and make themselves look grand in 12 "easy" steps. Once I calculated it all up and the woman I had been viewing had used close to $400 of products and had yet to put mascara or lipstick on! This was fun, to see a normal woman, with a normal make up kit:). Well done!!
I love that you and Carlos talk a bilingual conversation back and forth! I always turn on captions. Sometimes, I watch the videos a few times. I'm learning Italian! ❤
The makeup tips are really cool! When you can, give tips on daily skin care 🥰 It might be tiring for you to translate conversations with Carlos but it's really nice to be able to hear the language of both of you with the charm of each one! 🥰
I'd love any tips for eyebrows!.....for those of us who overplucked in the 70's 😆....I've tried numerous eyebrow products and always seem to go back to my Maybelline pencil which is just ok
@barber0611 I agree! I over-plucked in the late 90s, added with hypothyroidism, my brows are gone. I've tried everything from stencils to pencils & I just don't have the patience.
I 100% trust you on this as it not only was your profession but bc you're so honest about ALL your videos and therefore I find myself trusting you, SO THANK YOU!
Such an informative video Nicki - thank you so much! 🙏 I love the laidback formula and chit-chat context here on Aperitivo 50, and am looking forward to Carlo embracing this space too. He is extremely skilled in so many things, that I’m sure he’ll bring his achievements to the table to create the perfect ‘marriage’ alongside your own. 🙌
You have cheered me up no end! I also use bits of makeup that are ancient! But still fine... and no lid... that just made my life complete thank you for being so real xx
I’ve always been a make up minimalist & lucky to have a dark complexion being Sicilian decent on both sides. You gave me some good ideas to try. I love how you do your makeup, so pretty.
I enjoy the Italian conversations too. I don’t mind the subtitles! I wonder though if that’s more work for you! You look fabulous! I love the natural looking makeup😊
Thank you, Nicki! I love this mid-week channel! Thank you for the makeup demo! It helps me to see what you use and how you apply it. Using your techniques you have taught us in the past, I now do my mother-in-law's makeup just to give her a little emotional lift. She is almost 90 but still loves looking pretty. Your hair looks gorgeous and you look beautiful with even no makeup! I appreciate you so much and you make my days more fun! We are waiting on hurricane Helene to arrive here later today. Have a great week! ❤ Kathy in south Alabama
You are so clever. Being able to have a conversation in your second language, without you misunderstanding is fantastic. Don’t worry about the subtitles, as we love knowing what you both are discussing.
This is so helpful as someone who has struggled with changes to my eyes due to ageing. I especially appreciate the suggestion of using a primer around my eyes, something I’ve never considered in such a sensitive area. I love how you keep your look natural yet very beautiful. Thank you so much for these tips! Catherine.
Both of your favorite mascaras are tubing mascaras that requires warm water above a certain degree to make the polymers, that covers each lash, to melt. As I understand it, all mascaras that say they can be removed with warm water, are tubing mascaras. As I've become a mascara smudger the last 5 years, tubing is all I ca´n use, if I don't feel like looking like a raccoon by lunch time. I can also recommend the MAC paint pot Painterly. I use it basically as a primer; nothing budges that is put on top of it. If you want something even more "clingy", the Lisa Eldridge latest liquid silky Eye paints. I've never had an eye shadow that stays put the way this does, And everything you put above it as well.
Lovely video as always, Nicki! Your makeup tips are spot on for me since I am close to your age and coloring (red hair, pale skin.) I love how little you actually use; you look so fresh and natural. I’ve pared down my own makeup regimen following your example and I like the results. I look younger and fresher with less! Who knew?!
What a neat short video! I have such blonde eyebrows and I refuse to "paint on" darker ones that look so fake to me. I wish I could find the right color and a natural way of applying it. Thank you for all the tips and tricks! ♥️☘️
I think this is that place, for a convo in full Italian, you guys are such generous souls, seriously, I don’t wear makeup but now I know if I ever do what to try. Allowing us to see you as you are is very inspirational, I know it’s difficult to let yourselves be seen because the criticism comes from everywhere and feels personal because you are sharing yourself, it’s why so many of us are afraid to put ourselves out there, but the truth is you can’t please everyone all the time. You made this channel for you and so you should do the conversations in full Italian, that’s what you want to do!
Wow, thank you for this. I can't wait to try the serums. I didn't know to put on mascara first, I put it on last. 🤣 I enjoy hearing both languages. I'm Argentinian (born there, immigrated to U.S. in 1970, am U.S. citizen now), so I know Spanish and my grandfather (father's father) WAS Sicilian. Sorry for the big explanation. What I'm trying to say is there's a lot of Italian words that are similar or the same as Spanish ones and I enjoy hearing and catching one like cavallo (I think Carlo said it recently😁)in Italian is caballo in Spanish. Anyways, that's me.🤣 thank you for your wonderful content/videos. 👋❤👏🙌
I really liked this topic. As a woman in her fifties I am finding my skin has changed and what used to work for make up no longer does the trick. I do occasionally wear a light liquid foundation. A video on makeup tips for the aging face and neck would be great. I have enjoyed the videos with you and Carlos and the mix of English and Italian works.
This was SO helpful, Nick! Thank you for sharing your expertise and knowledge with us. I literally took notes. Lol. I've searched all over RUclips for this kind of information, but couldn't find quite what I was looking for, as they tend to be influencers who use 20 products every day and spend more time than I want to devote to makeup. I really wanted a simple and straightforward approach to just give me a boost as I live my life ... and help me not look exhausted by 10am on a Tuesday! 40's makeup has been a challenge. I always love your fresh and vibrant makeup looks and this was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!!!
Hi Nicki Fellow makeup artist here. I love hearing from other makeup artists. You can always learn from others no matter how long you’ve been doing it.
I'm in my 70s and still enjoy learning makeup tips! Love hearing you & Carlo speak Italian. Can you use a translation app to save time translating, or is it less hassle to just translate it yourself?
I am just a bit older than you are and thought you might like to know that I grew up in Toronto, Canada around the corner fro the very first MAC shop 😱. It was my first makeup and I am so happy it is still recommended. I also used to be a beauty advisor at a department store many years ago - I still have a Guerlain bronzer!! I enjoy watching your get ready with me videos - great job:) I was going to ask about your lovely brows...glad I watched to the end:)
I no longer wear makeup as most things i used in past have caused problems. At 74 its just moisturiser now and i use sunscreen in summer and a hat. My Mum would never be seen without full makeup and everything coordinated with style! Bless her socks❤ My daughter is same and has inherited lovely English skin from her paternal grandma. Mine is typically Aussie and dry! Enjoy your new channel and hope you can show us more great tips ! Cheers from Oz🦘🌸👋🐾
I’ve been looking forward to your makeup tips. I’m 66 years old, and have resorted to using clear mascara and black eyeshadow as eyeliner, as anything else smudges. I will take everything you recommended into account, and I love your new channel.
Lot's of great tips you've shared. From my own experience I prefer brown eyeliner and mascara and lighter brows as i get older. the darker blacks are too harsh. Eyelash curlers make a big difference too.
So glad to hear you mention Selene, (spelling?) I hadn't been seeing her on your other channel or at your Tuscany place or heard you mention her name and was worried something had happened to her or between you. So glad to hear and hope she's well. Love all your videos! You are the highlight of my week❤🎉😂
Hi Nikki! Thank you for the tips for us ladies 45+. You are a natural beauty. I would be curious to hear if you have tried the French brand, Typology or would consider ordering it? They say it is skincare/makeup for the skin. They are marketing the quick and natural look with skin care benefits.
Hi I loved watching this video. Being you were a professional makeup artist, you really know what you're doing when applying makeup. I wear makeup every day and I'm older than you are so my skin isn't as nice as yours. I do wear eye makeup but I really can't afford some of the items you use so I do my best with less expensive ones. Thanks for showing us how you put your makeup on. I didn't hear what you use on your skin instead of moisturizer. Can you please let me know what that is? Thank you!
Yes! So much softer and suits the lovely soft hair colour and pale skin. No spiky black lashes ,coal black eyebrows highly coloured cheeks. Your natural beauty is soft, not harsh. ❤️
Love this so! I am 72 and use only cream shadows by Mac or Girlactik which are my fav. I find with my dry eyes, powders can only be worn for a very short time. I love cream blushes also and always use a spot of my lipstick on cheeks. I have so few eye brows and wear bangs because they are so sparse and I'd love for you to show us how to create a brow. 💖
Speak in Italian, please! It won't hurt anybody to read a bit. Or hear another language, for that matter. I would love to see what the two of you looked like in your early days or even before that, do you think you could show us some photos? I LOVE watching both of your channels, it's like being in a movie!
Hello, Nicki! I am in my "upper" 60's and always enjoy your make-up videos. I started using "Painterly" both alone and as a base. It is phenomenal! Going to try squalane, now. I love serums! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us! Have a great weekend! ~ Lori in Idaho, USA.
It's really funny because sometimes during these videos when you are talking directly to the camera close up, I find myself answering you or commenting like we are in the same room. Makes me laugh each and every time. Love the videos...thanks😂
Thank you Nicki. 😍If anyone is interested I find L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara is the best sweat proof. One side of the tube is a primer and the second side is rich mascara. Stila is a great pencil eyeliner ….I use a dark brown. Don’t forget the sunscreen I suggest Elta MD tinted face sunscreen it’s 100% mineral with no chemicals.
Such an amazing and inspiring video which is totally relevant for me. Just what I need! I’m 61 and was getting very fed up with running mascara, so thank you so much for your ideas.
I use elf primer. It's really good, at an amazing price. Btw, pretty woman, I just saw this on my phone and really wanted to take the time to say hi. I freaking adore your show!!! Loveee your sweet hubby!(!I want one like that for me) you have inspired to visit Italy, of course Positano and My fav Tuscany. You guys rock!!! Love your friends, your beautiful daughter. Your dad. He cracks me up. ❤❤❤❤much love from a Puertorican living in Texas.
OMG I thought that was my with the mascara smudging I will give your suggestions a go. I got a Charlotte Tilbury Concealer, and I love it, I have never used it before. Thanks Nikki, Terese
Your mascara tips are awesome! I have the same problem (at 55 years old) that mascara ends up above and below my eyes. I'm going to try your suggestions.
Thank you very much for this video, it was very informative. As a 69 yr old, I struggle with eye makeup, trying to look natural, your instruction helped a lot. Thank you.
I’m loving this new channel too! Could you please do a video on makeup for 60+ people? I’ve found that the products and routine that always worked before, does not work now🫣 I’d also like to know what tones down a red undertone? Thanks in advance! 😁🤗🥰
Would love a video about your HAIR.The tones you use for your highlights from the colour chart, the thickness of your highlights and even when you're at the hairdresser having it done. What brush you use and shampoo, conditioner, masks etc. All about your gorgeous thick hair and any vitamins you take to keep your hair, skin and nails healthy. It could cover HAIR, SKIN and NAILS perhaps. Thanxx Nicki.💖 Michelle Australia
Hi Nicki, this is so helpful! Thank you for sharing your make up routine! Please don’t feel embarrassed about having old makeup. I’m sure a LOT of us have old makeup too. I know I do. I can’t think of the last time I cleaned out my eye shadows or blushes! Oh I’d love to see a video of your favorite books or some of the plants you have had success with in the different places you call home. 😊 I hope you are having a great week. Looking forward to seeing how your dad’s first visit to Tuscany goes! Have a wonderful day!
Your make up looks very nice. I was in need of that info, bc reason I don’t wear make up it is bc I don’t know how to do it. Looking forward to see you Sunday💕
I am so glad you’re mentioning this today!1 I have tried a variety of mascaras and I end up looking like I’ve been beaten up!! So I will try the Lancôme one hope it works for me. Would you recommend a good eyeliner that doesn’t smudge either please. I’m hitting 73 tomorrow and still like to find the right eye make up that doesn’t make me look like a crypt keeper 😏 😊. Tks.
Greetings from Wisconsin, United States. I enjoy the Italian conversations and the subtitles are a way for me to check and see if I understood what was being said. Thank you for your make - up tips.
I use cotton sticks to take of the mascara misses too ... In summer I use just mascara and lip moisturaizer . When I am in the sun working at the garden I use a sunscreen . At night a bit of Calendula cream . Works perfect on my dry skin . I like Rimmel mascara best at the moment . Sometimes at work in the Petshop I need to wipe a bit away when it gets real hot there in summer . But I did not have Panda eyes . I like your new channel so far Nicki ... Even as an old girl . This weekend I will turn 62
I enjoy the Italian conversations. I consider them a bonus to your videos, giving me an opportunity to expand on my traveler’s Italian.
I feel the same way. !!~😊
Thanks Nicki I really enjoyed ❤the makeup tutorial it was fantastic 😊cheers from 🇦🇺
Thanks Nicki , enjoyed this and learnt some as well ❤
Just. That little bit of makeup. N boom you look gorgeous. Refreshed. We all need a best friend who is a makeup artist. Like you!! 🌸🌸🌸💗💐💗💐🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

I love to hear Carlo speak English. He’s better at it than he thinks. The more he speaks English, the more confident he will become.
This was fun. I actually love your back and forth with Carlo in both languages. I love hearing you both speak English and Italian.
I enjoy listening to the Italian and reading the English in subtitles. It may be more work for you and I can appreciate that, but in case you never hear the comment the other way around I wanted to add it. 🙂
Love the tips!!! Love the bonus channel!!
Nikki I love Carlo speaking in Italian. It adds texture and a nuance to your videos which set you guys apart from the crowd. I hope you will just continue to keep it natural between the 2 of you.
Thank you so much! I am 70? Can you tell us what tricks, techniques, tips for older women? Please?
I am not her, but my research has shown less is more. Nothing cakey, light pinks on the apple of cheek and a bit on eyelids, a soft fill in on the brow, and a tubing mascara should be all we are using. We must use spf above all else and quality skincare is key. And remember, you are always lovely if you have love in your heart 🤗🤗.
@@Relatedonthate thank you so much!

I always turn on captions. Sometimes, I watch the videos a few times.
I'm learning Italian! ❤
I love when you and Carlo chat in Italian. It's a more realistic and intimate exchange.
Great video on how to....always a pleasure..thanks!!❤
The makeup tips are really cool! When you can, give tips on daily skin care 🥰 It might be tiring for you to translate conversations with Carlos but it's really nice to be able to hear the language of both of you with the charm of each one! 🥰
Quite possibly the most relatable make up tutorial I've ever watched. Thank you!
Love the mix of Italian & English languages spoken & happy to watch whatever you want to show us 😊
I'd love any tips for eyebrows!.....for those of us who overplucked in the 70's 😆....I've tried numerous eyebrow products and always seem to go back to my Maybelline pencil which is just ok
@barber0611 I agree! I over-plucked in the late 90s, added with hypothyroidism, my brows are gone. I've tried everything from stencils to pencils & I just don't have the patience.

I would also love some information on eyebrows
What do you do for your eyebrows please Nicki x

I have to say, when you clipped your bangs back and revealed your beautiful face, you looked a triumph! So pretty!
I love these videos with just you talking 😍 It’s very calming and ASMRy for me. And love the beauty tips, everyday or otherwise 🫶

I'm really enjoying the content of this new channel. Thank you. Also, the makeup brand Hard Candy still exists in the U.S., I've seen it at Walmart.
Thank you.
Thank you for this eye make up. It was like sitting with an old friend. Your hair is so beautiful and shiny and healthy looking!
I’m loving this new channel too! Could you please do a video on makeup for 60+ people? I’ve found that the products and routine that always worked before, does not work now🫣
I’d also like to know what tones down a red undertone? Thanks in advance!
😁🤗🥰
Yes very helpful. I am shopping as I watch. Thanks 👍
Thank you for this Nicki! I remember you showed that MAC mascara a year or two ago and it is now my go to. 💗
26 year old eyeshadow!!! And I thought I was bad. Love all this Nikki x
Nikki, your hair color looks wonderful! Do you do it yourself? If so, could you do a video on that?
Your hair looks so pretty
She has it done in London
My hairdresser is based in Walton on Thames in England. @hairbycaroline on instagram.
Great tips! Let me see if I can practice and improve how I do!
Your make up looks very nice. I was in need of that info, bc reason I don’t wear make up it is bc I don’t know how to do it. Looking forward to see you Sunday💕
I am so glad to see I am not the only one who puts mascara on first. I always get it everywhere.
Thank you for the simple makeup routine.
Your hair is gorgeous. Would you ever consider a demo or tips on products and technique?
Thank you for sharing! I enjoyed that as I just give up trying to find good products I’ll look into some of these
I am so glad you’re mentioning this today!1 I have tried a variety of mascaras and I end up looking like I’ve been beaten up!! So I will try the Lancôme one hope it works for me. Would you recommend a good eyeliner that doesn’t smudge either please. I’m hitting 73 tomorrow and still like to find the right eye make up that doesn’t make me look like a crypt keeper 😏 😊. Tks.
I am 67 and have used Loreal eyeliner for years now and love it. It has a brush so you can make it as thick or thin as you like.
💯painterly by Mac has been my go to for a couple of years! I also use the Bobbi Brown stick-I use it in my crease with the painterly.
Great tips/products, thank you Nicki! You don’t use sunscreen? That is my problem. Anything I put on top seems to run/ crease…
Love the tips on make up! I took notes and will follow your suggested products. Grazie mille ☺️
