- I bought this machine Spring of 2001. I bought it at a very difficult time in my life…so it holds bittersweet memories. This Windtunnel design was one of Hoover’s best offerings ever in my opinion. It has been a stalwart machine and a stellar performer!

I believe they did. The blue one I think was a higher trim level model and a lot more.
I have this exact Windtunnel. My brother found it in the trash and it just needed cleaned up, new bag, belt and filters. Works great!

We used to have a Hoover store where I live too. But sadly now it’s a new Vacuum store called Super Vacuum. My mom bought a 2007 Hoover WindTunnel Self Propelled purple ultra machine from there and we still have it to this day with the original service manual included! That WindTunnel lite is not from 2001 that’s from 2002. So how to rate older Hoover machines is the first two digits tell you the month and then the second two tell you the year. So your WindTunnel lite was made in March 2002. Maytag bought Hoover in 1989 and then in 2006 TTI bought Hoover and took over the company now! My treasure machine is a Hoover WindTunnel Deluxe. That machine my aunt originally had that then I inherited it from her and she bought it since it was new. It is from November 1997 it’s also the same age as me but my birthday was in August. I was born in 1997 so my birthday is August 1997! 😊
Oh…that makes sense about the date code. Dang!…I guess I got it in 02 then. That time in my life was a blur. Thanks for the info! That will help me with some other old Hoovers I have!

Oh, yeah! Those are awesome machines!! I remember subscribing to Consumer Reports many, many years ago and they were rated number one for the longest time.
Agreed. It’s a solid, well-built machine!
I love the color, maroon wine colors have always been my favorite. I have a Kirby G5 for this reason
