I have a cheap hand held analog radio Lenovx Sound from the 2004. It was on clearance from the distribution warehouse for $1.00 dollar. It still works great today. I use it minutes before work and during lunch break. Amazon has a Panasonic analog hand held radio for $18 USD which I'm considering of buying, but 1st watching reviews of the product.
I saw both variants at Walmart a couple of days ago. My Casio MRW210H work watch is heavily worn, but keeps on ticking. I also have 2 more budget quartz watches, a Timex Expedition Scout and Tonnier field (Amazon) watch. I use my Timex Expedition during night time International flights. I use the Tonnier for weekend chores. My mechanicals field Seiko and Hamilton watches get light casual use. The Forester on that darker strap would be my pick if I didn't have my Timex. I have 7.5 inch wrist and prefer smaller watches. Smaller watches disappear on wrist. The velcro strap is easy to remove before going through airport security too.
@@onemph05 It is similar to the Expedition. Perhaps I’ll follow your lead and get an Expedition as well.
@DoctoredGinst the quartz movement does have a very noticeable ticking, that's often a negative about the Timex. The indiglo is helpful keeping track of time during night time international flights as a passenger. The finish is similar to bead blasted finish. No worries about scratching especially when removing backpack through airport security. The date window is very tiny and challenging to see. I would go with the Casio Forester if I need to replace it today.
For $21 bucks Casio went the extra mile on that nice field watch. The value is incredible. If I watch a video, it gets a like. Someone put forth their time & energy to make the video you just enjoyed. The least you can do is hit the like button geeeeeez. 🤷🏽

380 views but only 7 likes 🤔. Sony definitely makes quality products coming from a playstation fan here. Its been a long time since I’ve had a pocket radio, but when I was a kid I use to have a radio shack “realistic” pocket radio. It was definitely more bulky than your sony there. I do currently have a N.O.A.A. pocket, battery operated weather radio that I adore. Great to take with you on a hike or anywhere when expecting deteriorating weather conditions. I like your sony but that price! 😮

Nice G-shock like Timex. I personally like Timex for their dress watches & Casio’s for their sport watches. I love the 38mm Timex weekender (specifically the green nato strap with the cream very bauhaus like minimal dial. Yes I like the ticking of a Timex!

Yours looks great! I also bought mine new but it’s had a hard life cleaning about 3,000 square feet. Everything works on mine except the cord reel. The cord reel went out about 6 months ago, there is no repair for it. The cord reel broke while it was retired for about 5 years. I replaced mine with a Miele.
@@J-nj8uv Sadly, the cord reel seems to be an issue on this particular beast. I stand earnestly with my fingers crossed the vacuum gods may leave my machine immune.
@ you also can’t get a replacement cord real new, and I’m sure any used wouldn’t be good
Stupid phone-was supposed to say high quality not quantity. Guess that’s what I get for not closely proofreading first. 😑
That’s definitely a high-quantity radio. I searched up the radio & the closest thing was the “pro” version of this for $99. Would be great to take to the park while relaxing. You definitely cover a wide variety of subjects on your channel. Do you have a a n.o.a.a. weather radio?
@@sci-fyguy7767 That’s very kind of you! I have a few radios with NOAA… including my Mica color CCradio Plus I bought around 2001.
I got 2 of this exact same model. Extremely quick to read the time. This dial style is that of a field watch/pilots watch. This is also called flieger style dial. I just wish it had better lume.

I have at least 50 Casio watches & just can’t get into the Royale, even if James Bond wore it. I do like your new Casio, though with its nice square case & graphics. It’s a good-looking watch. I’m just the same as you about wal-mart, where with every visit, I have to check out the casio section. 😂 I recently “discovered” a watch that I’ve had at least 3 years now that I got cheap on clearance for $15. The casio HDC-700 module 5565 ani/digi or analog-digital. aka the data bank watch. I like to wear analogs when I ride my motorcycle cause it’s easier to read the time at a glance. The data bank is super helpful for entering information you might forget such as a combination number on a bike lock or maybe the code on a gate or just phone numbers. It’s really cool how the information you enter scrolls across the screen for you to read. I’m an “old guy” too at 56 so I get ya 😂
@@sci-fyguy7767 I need to look into that model! I’m glad there’s someone else out there who’s not utterly-enamored with the Royale.
Very nice
Living in the UK, I received the Acurrist equivalent with the same movement. Still got it, in fact I'm wearing it now. I did swap the bracelet from mine though, not because there's anything wrong with it, but because I prefer straps. Nice video, thanks for the tutorial of the slide rule bezel 👍
@@Flint_Westwood That’s fantastic! I didn’t know that movement was utilized in other brands - fascinating. Many thanks as to the compliment!
I have been there but it was because I worked there drilling the holes for the explosives. I never loaded the explosives just drilled holes all day every day.
I was a surveyor in Central Queensland. Spent a year in an open cut coal mine just marking out holes for drilling 12 hours a day. I know what you're talking about. Occasionally the drillers or explosives crew would spend some time with me just to figure what was going on because the 'mining engineers' couldn't be bothered dealing with us.
@@samus6256 They had one of the carbide bits on display. Good lord what a drill bit!
The scale of the equipment is so crazy
@@kimberly4275 Indeed! One of the 380 ton haul trucks is about the size of a 2600 sq ft. two story-traditional house. And to see them look like ants down in the Mine is a staggering sight.
I still use mine too, since 1994. Although mine is not in such good condition - the crystal is quite scratched as well as the aluminum frame. I would like to replace them, but I can't find the parts. I used to dive when I was younger and carried this watch with me several times out of pure curiosity, just to see how the sensors would work and will the watch withstand the pressure. Ofc, the sensors did not show any readings, but the watch withstood the pressure at 40m (about 130ft) depth for about half an hour. Upon returning to the surface, everything worked perfectly. Like I said - I still use it to this day and wear it from time to time.
