    I have owned my Massimo UTV 500 for 8 years and have made some very helpful & useful mods.
    #1 - Added/installed a hi-intensity 16 " LED light bar, onto the 'brow' of cockpit roof, then mounted On-Off switch to instrument panel at 'knockout' plug location.
    #2 - Ordered a Volkswagen rear view mirror & mounted it just to the inside lip of the cockpit cover.
    #3 - Purchased a Kidde fire extinguisher at local hardware store and mounted the unit between the seats to the center vertical support bar.
    #4 - Purchased a 'flat' cargo rack and mounted it onto the roof top with stainless bolts & nuts down to attach to the cockpit tubes.
    #5 - The UTV needed a 'dust shield' when
    operating in rough dusty country. The 'fix' was to take sheet of inexpensive 'Corplast' (new or used), then cut the bottom edge to fit the contour behind the seats, around the various bulges & bumps, then trim the top edge to just below the top of the seats, then rounded the corners a bit and spray paint a coat of Rustoleum X-2 Canyon Black, WOW, no more choking dust in the cockpit !! and it cuts down a lot of engine & road noise.
    #6 - Purchased a 9'X 7' camo colored poly tarp, rolled it up and used a 6 foot length of 1/4" nylon rope to attach the now rolled tarp to the horizontal crossbar just behind the seats.
    #7 - Purchased a removable bench type 'jump/rumble seat' and mounted in dump bed.
    #8 - Mounted farm vehicle 'triangle' sign to surface of the tail gate using 2 stainless 1/2" sheet metal screws. CAUTION Do not mount the triangle below the bottom of tailgate as it can easily be knocked off by brush or brambles.
    #9 - Purchased an extended square tube trailer towing bar at hardware supply & installed into vehicle reciever tube and secured with easily removable pinion & 'clip'.
    #10 - Purchased small yard type trailer at Tractor Supply that is easily hooked up, & towed by my UTV, then purchased various spray cans of camo color spraypaint and painted the trailer to closely match my UTV's camo pattern. Nifty !!
    11# - Purchased a HD weapons magnet at Academy and mounted undernearh instrument panel to hold a handgun as I live in rattlesnake country.
    *** Now working on improving the cockpit door return & closure system, will replace easily rotted rubber return bands with stainless springs using same mounting points on doors. The door latches also need a bit of attention and possible fix will be use of a 'swatch' of HD type velcro to heip keep doors closed when operating in snake country 🐍🔫

      One Additional Note -- Beneath the drivers seat is empty wasted space. Using Corplast again I cut small panels to fit between the engine and empty space & a small placard to fit at back of the empty space, then purchased very small foam cooler which fit perfectly into the space. I now have a cooler for drinks or eats while out scouting the countryside or hunting.

    • @tejician1
      @tejician1 5 лет назад +1

      Easy fix for 'quieting' engine/road noise and blowing dust in cockpit is to cut and make a 'shield' from a 4 X 5 sheet of Corplast material (used for political signs etc). Using a marker draw and cut a contour to fit closely the various bumps & bulges at bottom & backs of cockpit seats, then trim top of Corplast to just below sear backs, finish up by spray painting a coat of Rustoleum X-2 Canyon Black to match tubes. I did mine 8 years ago and it still appears new after many hours of hard use.

    • @jaytodd5809

      Jim..what did you do about the heat from the engine?

    • @tejician1
      @tejician1 5 лет назад +1

      Most of the problems "new" owners of the Massimo UTV are caused by an absence of a 'Baffle' between the dump bed and the cab or seats. Without the baffle engine heat floods into the cab which is very uncomfortable during the warmer months of the year and choking road dust comes rolling into the cab. These 3 problems were easily solved by using a 1/8 in. thick sheet of corrugated political signage, then using a marker (Sharpie) to follow the undalting bulges & curves at the rear & bottom of the seats, then drawing a line across the top of the seats..Then cutting out the pattern and lastly using a spray can of Rustoleum X-2, color to match the Massimo's color. My Massimo is camo colored, I used Black to match the vehicles structure. You now have a baffle partition that is easily installed & doesn't require screws or zip ties to hold in place and easily fits between the dump bed & seats and is waterproof. I noticed an added benefit after installation... Excessive engine noise was eliminated allowing for normal conversation. I know that I should have made a RUclips 'How To' but that would have made a bigger hassle than explaining the simple & inexpensive process....😃

    • @jaytodd5809
      @jaytodd5809 5 лет назад

      Why thanks Jim for taking the time to give an in-depth description..really apprecIate that..I think a video would be quite beneficial to us sufferers of the Massimo brand haha lol. ..well I will give the partition a try but first I got to do something about the ridiculous amount of time it takes to get up to speed..im a new used owner and I think the previous owners drove itbin high gear only?

    First thing we did is remove the stupid doors....I guess if you drive through a bunch of overgrowth they make sense but for a hobby farm jumping in and out of the UTV they are just a pain to open and close ...tooke em RIGHT out ...obviously these machines are NOT going to fulfil anyone looking for a play vehicle...they are dogs compared to the toys....these are hobby farm work UTVs if you ask me...I suppose they would work for hunting too but really not all that serious of machines for deep in the shit
