Damn. NY subway is empty. Go and do that on Mexico City! Though people might yell at you for occupying so much space.
It definitely depends on the day, just like any big city in the world with extensive public transport system. There are times and/or lines where there's not much passenger volume. They picked a line and a time of day where there's not much people. Believe me, when it's rush hour, it's like sardines in the subway car. Although, I have yet to see a country that can beat the train packing in Japan O.O

Wow, awesome concept!! Funny! Ok, ONE improvement note: we REALLY want to hear (at least slightly) longer interviews with the riders; I know some had to get off ASAP but if you could find folks who you KNEW would be on the line for say 10 mins or so minimum, it'd be SO cool to learn more about these unexpected guests!! The welder guy - would have been GREAT to get 5 mins - family, how decided to get into welding, coolest thing he ever welded, etc - short.. but not SO short.
