Billy Joel’s back catalogue is a GOLD mine! Please, keep going down this rabbit hole. There are no wrong turns. Despite the range of musical styles and subject matter, Billy’s lyrics are always thought-provoking and his melodies/rhythms memorable. A few ideas: Allentown Goodnight Saigon Big Shot Scenes From an Italian Restaurant Only the Good Die Young New York State of Mind Vienna The Stranger Really, I can’t think of a song of his I haven’t liked…. 💐
Love it. Billy Joel was never my favorite, but I can always find something to like. Now I'm going to quietly say "Downeaster Alexa" over and over and see what happens.
If you want to see his insanely good piano skills, you must check out 'Billy Joel - I Go to Extremes (Live Concert in Tokyo)' and 'Billy Joel - Prelude. Angry Young Man (Live Concert in Tokyo)'. For a good measure of saxophone, I recommend 'Billy Joel - New York State Of Mind (Live)'.
It's a beautiful song and Billy performs it so well, a timeless classic. I always loved the lyrics and hoped someday I'd find someone who would say the same to me, unfortunately that wasn't to be the case, with my last partner it would be more... I don't want clever conversation (because your not clever), I never want to work that hard (but you make me anyway) I just want someone that I can talk to (anyone but you) I want you just the way you are (well how I imagined you).🤣
The album this was from, The Stranger, was released in September 1977 and the single of this song was released in November 1977. It is likely that was the year it was written too and this is probably an early version of it being performed live, as Billy sang could and would in the reverse order on the part that goes: I would not leave you in times of trouble We never could have come this far, mmm
Dude, this won 2 Grammys for Song and record of the year, was ALL over the radio. Very popular song. Highly recommend you take a deep dive into The Stranger” react to EVERY Song don’t skip any songs, it’s a concept record so the beginning to end each as a purpose
Here is a really good song from Billy Joel he wrote a song for Ray Charles and ended up doing a duet with him and it is called Baby Grand I know you will love it.
Amazing reaction, love your channel. Mr. Piano Man must have a lot of game, he married Christie Brinkley & have a daughter together! She's actually in his song -Uptown Girl- video. Check it out, good song. 💃🎶 Keep em' coming! Sending love, peace & happiness! 🫶🏼✌🏼👏🏼
I think you'd like the official video for Billy Joel's "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant".... it's a great song, but the video helps you put the story together.....
In the UK perhaps, where Barry's version charter higher than Billy's version did at #12 compared to #19, but Billy's reached #3 in America in 1977 and also won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, whereas Barry's version reached #102 a year later there.

Love Billie Joel and I’m enjoying your channel! ❤. Keep up the good work!
This is why he is known as the Piano Man!! Of course having a song with that title doesn’t hurt either!!

Billy Joel has mad skills on piano. He's a Legend!! Check out Billy's songs/videos for " YOU'RE ONLY HUMAN (SECOND WIND)" and "RIVER OF DREAMS".

You should let your wife listen to this song and tell her it's how you (obviously) feel. She'll be touched right down to her toes! Promise!
for so many many years, I thought this was a Barry white song.
I think you'd like the official video for Billy Joel's "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant".... it's a great song, but the video helps you put the story together.....
Live From Long Island Performance is so much better!!
I’m wondering if you feel the sax reminds you of Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty
Barry White did a cover of this and for a while was better known than Billy Joel for it, you should go check it out.

Piano Man non ha eguali .... Da giovane era il miglior performer live .... Ed è l'unico artista che ha tutti gioielli nel suo repertorio
