He was big at the time but never on LeBron's level. Other that juicing to hit homers he wasn't an elite player. Career average is . 266. 462 homers but played a ton of years to get to that. Good speed for his size but not a great fielder or hitter for average. Just used juice to try and excel in one area

Truth! People who didn’t grow up in that era have no idea how big an icon Jose was. His Nike posters were everywhere. He was the first pro athlete to rock those futuristic sunglasses. He was the epitome of cool. My friends and I would buy baseball cards and if you got a Jose card it was like winning the lottery.

I've been to Gitmo in the service. Cuba is BEAUTIFUL, but that place is DEPRESSING! My man Frank, he was from Cuba until they moved to NYC/NJ. I can understand why a lot of first-generation Cubans are anti-communist/socialist. I don't blame them because their parents actually LIVED thru it! As an example from my own life, I married my teenaged sweetheart back in the day at young age. I always liked/loved her and I LOVED being married. But she didn't. So of course she cheated and kept on cheating. So, for a while I didn't trust women. Until my current wife of 25 years proved to me that just because on woman was not good to you that doesn't mean ALL women are evil. You won't go thru that everyone. That's the way I feel towards communism/socialism when Murcans still think it's 1960 and the Iron Curtain is spreading. Two FAILED economic/govermental systems, but some folks actually NEED something to FEAR and HATE! No country on earth wants to be "broke" and not everyone can be EQUAL, at least financially!
