i would only worry about the 5000 rtx performance.. still rocking with my 3070 and 5800x3d :D
All RTX 3000 owners should wait for RTX 5000 anyway.
Depending on how good or bad the prices are you will have more options to choose from.
We gonna know, probably in september, a little bit more about the gaming GPUs.
If not earlier through leaks that are already starting to pick up.
last three Nvidia generations have been announced in aug (2x) and sept (1). So yeah we will know. Personally, as long as my 6700XT is still maxing my monitor refresh I will probably worry more about a better monitor than 5000 or amd 8000.
@@dontsupportrats4089 No. 3000 and 4000 both in september. Before that it was august with 1000 and 2000.
@@dontsupportrats4089 I have 4k 120hz. That will last me a while at least.
What? A blue shirt!
4090 on sale it the ONLY GPU worth looking at because you have next gen in less than 12months…. Thats it don’t be fooled/duped/scammed/ripped-off
That's exactly why you *SHOULDN'T* be buying a 4090. The 5090 is here in like 6 months, you'd be wasting money.
Microcenter has had dozens new in stock for as low as $1800 the last few months and they're selling for that much used on Ebay. Would be surprised is msrp came back before 5000 but you could always resell it. I mean I'd be more than a little worried about the cable melting the card but you could get lucky.
I'd argue that depends on the price@@anitaremenarova6662 and I'd fall off my chair if the 5090 is available to buy in 6months
Seems like no mater how far they drop the price it's always $100 too expensive!
Yep that seems to be the case.
That’s Nvidia for you
Honestly the AMD price drops are more appealing than Nvidia.
$500 and I will buy. 7800XT at $350 then I would buy it. I bought my 4090 for $1100 brand new so I buy things at cheaper prices while looking for deals. My 4090 was a return that I watched the poor guy buy it take it to the car stand outside his car argue with his wife. He walked in returned it took a 30% hit then I swooped in and bought it for their 25% open box price plus $100 loyalty coupon. Plus, it had still never been opened so new open box.
$700 for 12gb. Clown world.
Yeah, especially given that you get 20 GB for the same price and better raster performance in native. (And it was way worse over a year ago when I had to buy a replacement card, 1,049 Euros for the my RX7900XT and 20 GB of VRAM or 1,100 for the 4070 Ti with 12 GB. Was thinking myself crazy for buying that GPU, but sadly I couldn't avoid it, offer for the old PC inlcuding GPU which offset roughly half that price.)
Which is what 99% of games are. In the Simulation genres (Sim Racing, Combat Flight simming, Civilian Flight sim, any other proper sim) the lower CPU overhead of the AMD GPUs is another advantage, as those kinds of games are heavily cpu limited.
Yeah if you play a certain kind of AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077, the RTX's better raytracing performance helps, but if your games are rasterization only and/or don't have rasterization support, what's the point in paying the Nvidia premium for those features.
Power usage is noice on the Nvidia cards, but if you use a frame limiter and current drivers, you can make the 7900XT draw a lot less power, and if you are a bit experimentally minded, you can create undervolting/underclocking settings for certain games. When running DCS locked to 140 fps (4 under my monitors 144 hz refresh rate) the average powerdraw was 247 Watts and in Pcars 3 locked to 143 fps it was 167 Watts...less than my old RTX 2060 used to draw, for far less fps.
Hell when running the C&C Remastered collection I saw it draw 47-57 Watts, combined with the CPU the system drew under 100 Watts. Standard settings for the OC XFX RX7900XT Merc 310 Black Edition.
If you play any of the following games in 3440x1440, do not buy a 4070 Ti, as they already either almost max out the 12 GB VRAM limit or go past (on my 7900XT):
-Squad (up to 13.7 GB VRAM usage.)
-Star Citizen (Up to 12.95 GB VRAM usage, also in the cities/on planets heavily CPU limited).
-DCS (on the Marianas Map in Freeflight up to 12.7 GB VRAM used, any combat scenario there, expect higher vram usage. It will basically use all the VRAM and RAM it can get it's hands on. Optimized settings without Anti-Aliasing. Has DLSS 2, but the impact on image clarity and spotting is deemed too much by the community. Add about 1 GB VRAM for MSAA.)
-Assetto Corsa Competizione (up to 11.8GB VRAM used)
-Occupy Mars: The Game (don't know why, it isn't the prettiest game, but I've seen up to 13.51 GB of VRAM usage with a minimum of 12.85 GB VRAM usage. And that's with it capped to 120 fps. )
I sold my 4090 FE when demand was high, now I'm just gonna chillax a bit until blackwell comes. It is funny, I've never known what I wanted for X-mas this early in the year before!
TOOOOoooo Much money! STILL!
I'm fine with my rx 6700xt not in a rush or anything
Yeah bro you can get a 6700XT and a 98" display for the same price as a 4090. lol
Did he just said windows bro instead of pro? 💀💀
XD
Bruh
It would be worth buying only if the price came down to just above 4070 super, so in some european countries it might be close. At this point I'd get the 4070tiS for a future-proof card and something much cheaper like the RX 6800 otherwise.
That's a lot of extra money to pay for something that will run out of frames long before it runs out of vram.
@@BlackJesus8463 What are you on about lol, in 1440p it won't run out of anything. It's basically a 5% worse 4080.
Future proofing seems not really viable to me anymore tbh.
@@Hexenkind1 It absolutely is, unless you play in 4K which is dumb it's absolutely viable
@@anitaremenarova6662 Doesn't matter on which setting you play. As graphical settings advance and the reliance on software rather than hardware increases to advance them, it is far harder to future proof now then in the past.
And there will come a time in which raytracing is not optional anymore.
Waiting for the 5070
Same and hope it has 16 g
I wouldn't be surprised if the 5070 is $649 - $699 MSRP at launch (but even more expensive in reality). A.I. is NVIDIAs golden goose now, the consumer market is just an afterthought, and people have already demonstrated that price increases aren't too detrimental to spending. People not voting with their wallets only have themselves to blame.
5080
@@s4toristarif its no more than 1k
I bought a 4070TI at Dell for $725 and they gave me back $120 in rewards & gift cards. I upgraded a 3080 to this because of thermals and I wanted some of the newer 4000 features. It's a nice card paired with a Dell qhd ultrawide. For the same price I rather have to 4070 TI over the 4070 Super but I was originally looking for the 4070 Super.
Well if it'd good for you needs then enjoy.
Just remember that this card ain't that much better than the 4070 super and it has very big limitations if you wanna go for 4k 60fps it might be stuttering.
You should have waited. What a waste of
not bad
Is 12gb of vram enough to run triple A games on 2k these days?
@@itsZombieMan It's enough ram, you may need to turn down some settings but it'll still look good.
Any ideas when the 5000 series will be announced?
A year before you can buy it. 🤣✌
Usually right around september.

7900xtx just had a price drop...way better option at 899.
Interesting might have to look into that
@AnonymousUser-ww6ns I got mine for like 750...but that's been like 6/7 months ago...Amazon used. Had to repaste...but good after that.
100%, if you only game.
If you do streaming, video editing/encoding, any kind of AI work like Topaz, photoshop, or want framegen/upscaling/or literally anything other than gaming... you're better with an Nvidia card.

First to say first other than the uploader.

im waiting for a 3060 12gb replacement with at least 12gb of vram and 330 price. with higher performance and no bus nerfs like that disgrace of card, the 4060.
probably when Ai bubble burst and nvidia get a billion gpu unsold stock, like when the first gpu mining bitcoin crashed.
Well We see if Nivdia fix’s their mistake. I doubt it though
@@AnonymousUser-ww6ns I laughed at "fix's"... fix is? Fix's what their?
(Apostrophes don't make words plural.)
Nvidia is such a fad, gimmicky company. Now Nvidia says they are making AI robots. They obviously have too much money which means you are obviously overpaying for Nvidia. What a sad, pathetic company.
You realize the "fads" and "gimmicks" are so profitable that the gaming division is, basically, an afterthought at this point... right?
Buying the stock of this "sad, pathetic company" last year was the best investment I have ever made! And I have happily bought a couple of their GPUs also.
As long as my 6700xt maxes my monitor refresh, Im good. Might skip 8000 or 5000's generation also. Just not worth the money. Edit: to be clear, I mean I will concentrate on a monitor upgrade first.
That makes sense, 6700xt is perfectly fine at 1080p until gen 60.
