      @@Deathmage_1 the only reason they were reviewed is because of the overwhelming messages they got saying their black boxes are as good as say radions. Yes they grow corals like most lights on the market.
      Problem is very few of the black boxes meet US UL listing standards.

    Hi I have a question my new aquarium will be 6ft x 2.5ft x 2ft high how many lights will be required for a LPS softy set up?

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  3 года назад

      You're probably looking at a minimum of 2 fixtures in that case. Two of the Photon 32's should do the trick. You may have to hang them an inch or two higher than recommended to cover your slightly wider 2.5' front to back width.

    I’m in need of help finding a light for my new 4’x2’x2’ reef tank. I’m placing this tank under my 60” TV due to wanting the biggest tank in my living room and that ends up being the best location. With that said I need a light that can be mounted closer to the water to keep everything compact maybe 6-8” tops. Can it be done with the photon if I use 2-48” and turn them down so I don’t get hot spots or is there a better option. Thank you for any advice.

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  2 года назад

      The Photon fixture is much better mounted higher, so probably not a great choice for your particular installation. I would suggest checking out the Reef Brite LED strips. They can be mounted very close to the water surface compared to most light fixtures. Randy did a video on each of the three Reef Brite strip models, but I think this one might fit your needs the best: ruclips.net/video/KSPqkrGfXjk/видео.html

      Different tools for different jobs!
      Both will grow coral, but the Reef Breeders and ReefBrites are great for different scenarios/applications/needs despite both being able to grow some really nice looking corals.

    • @delsere7095
      @delsere7095 3 года назад +1

      I might be wrong but I think the reefbrights are best suited to supplement/retrofit onto a T5 fixture. Whereas the reef breeder V2 is likely best suited as a primary light fixture or integrated into a hybrid T5 fixture like the aquatic life.
