Installed yesterday on my V32 and love them. Way better than included mounts and hate ceiling mounting any light. Installed WiFi kit too and the Nexus app is awesome. Loved so much order a V16 Pro with the mounts for smaller tank that comes tomorrow.

Looks solid but one thing I worried is that the U bracket is made out of aluminum and correct me if I am wrong but will that be touching the water? If so I am not comfortable with it.

Those spring button adjustments would get old fast. Luckily it doesn't need to get moved often, or ever (after setup).

I wonder can these be mounted parallel with the mount as in for a peninsula tank, as opposed to perpendicular with the brackets?

While you may be able to get that to work, we'd recommend against it as it would be putting a lot of extra stress on the glass.
