***pauses video before it starts*** yeah, lemme guess, Nick or Wildes call KC America's team. LOL. To their bosses and everyone else in the NYC/LA media, KC is the epitome of flyover country. Sorry Nick, your bosses see your team as white trash at best. Edit: I stand corrected: it was Bob Costas' silly idea. Edit 2: that said, Nick's theorizing is just silly: everyone will hate the Chiefs for winning all the time and beating their teams all the time.

Lamar isn't elite. He's a playoff choker. The Chiefs got into the playoffs tons of times and were one or maybe 2 and done. Never an elite team. That's Lamar. Crumbles on the elite stage and in elite moments. There's always someone else to blame for the Lamar fanboys, of course. IMO, Huntley is a better playoff performer. He came within ONE THROW of beating the Bengals in the playoffs, despite having almost no snaps that season. Lamar had the BEST DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE and couldn't get it done. And frankly, who did the Ravens beat this season, other than a niners team with almost nothing to play for?

"Brock Purdy or Jalen Hurts?" Purdy. More for you, Nicky: "Purdy or Lamar Jackson"? Purdy. "Purdy or Trevor Lawrence?" Purdy. And, bonus for dirty birds fans, "Lawrence or Jackson?" Lawrence. BtW, Brou smashed Wright with his argument about uncertainty. Nick is unreasonably certain, and Brou is reasonably uncertain. Which...is...why...they...play...the...GD...games...every...week. Instead of comparing resumes, which is what Nick would prefer.

Because Mahomes has Andy Reid, Burrow has Zac Taylor, Allen has Sean McDermott, Jackson has Harbaugh, and Purdy (not that he belongs in a group with those previous 4, but he’s mentioned here because of the topic of the video) has Shanahan. We can debate whether a couple of those coaches are actually elite or not, but what I think we can all agree on is that Herbert would’ve been MUCH better off with ANY of those guys than he was with Brandon Staley. It’s not discussed enough how potentially harmful Staley was for Herbert’s development; if we all agree that he was pretty ghastly as a head coach, and that the aforementioned 5 other head coaches are FAR superior, then why aren’t we giving Herbert a little more benefit of the doubt?

I'm a Cowboys fan, for context. But here's the deal ... I would take Brock Purdy over everyone that you mentioned. I'd take him over Dak too. Why? We tend to over-emphasize the physical traits. The arm strength. The scrambling ability. The #1 thing that determines whether or not a quarterback can succeed in the modern NFL is what? Ability to run the offense while staying calm and cool and collected. These offenses are incredibly complex. Brock Purdy works hard, studies hard, shows up, stays calm. And wins. And wins and wins. Would I take him over Mahomes? No. Everyone else? Yes. The only reason this bothers people is because of his draft position. Take that out of the equation, just looking at the data, and every one of us would take Purdy over the rest of the league.

They draft and evaluate QB like it was DE, size, strength and speed. It is not the same, QB is cerebral. You can make some highlight reels with athletics but to last, to win consistently you have to have the ability to process quickly and make good decisions consistently with the ball. Bonus points if you can find a guy that can do both but that is not typical.

Wins have little to do with being America's team. The Cowboys were very good in the 70s as well. They were first called America's Team in 1978 because they were on TV as much as politicians and movie stars. They are still the most talked about, bad or good, team in the league, and usually get the best overall TV ratings. Doesn't hurt that they are the most valuable team worldwide. I agree about the Yankees and Lakers, but they have never really been referred to as America's Team. This is coming from an almost 60 year old.

Not saying Purdy can’t be successful in other systems, but he did have more turnover worthy plays this year than Josh Allen. When defenses convert those turnovers, as the Ravens Browns Vikings and Bengals did, it’s hard for Purdy to win in any system, because he doesn’t have the physical tools to make plays to make up for those kinds of mistakes.

Then i would put Lamar, Allen , Purdy in the same conversation. why? because Purdy is better than those two under pressure, the others melt down so far but talent wise better so that balances the scale. so i would put them together.

For those who don't understand, Joe Montana played at Notre Dame before he played for the Niners. My dad was so thrilled that a Notre Dame QB was playing well in the NFL that he followed his career there and became a 49ers fan. When Montana went to the Chiefs, he became a Chiefs fan. Kurt Warner was absolutely an elite QB. That's not a good comparison at all. He played during an era where he got his big chance because you could take a QB quite literally off of his feet. To know what would happen to Purdy, just look at what happened to Drew Brees in San Diego because he tried to fall on a fumbled ball. During the 90s and 2000s QBs got constantly hit in the knees, legs, face. DLs, DEs and LBs used to fall on them full force and pretty much headhunt them once they were outside the pocket, e.g. Bledsoe. Kurt played most of his career before the Brady and Rodgers injuries led to the safeguard rules for QBs. The hard hitting isn't so long ago, either. Just think of Cam Newton. A guy like Allen would get the same treatment as him and be finished in 7 to 10 seasons. Let's not pretend like the NFL hasn't changed dramatically towards a less physical and violent game. The margins of error for defenders have become so small that tackling and hitting have become really bad and in the upcoming seasons we will see some mind boggling suspensions, I'm sure.

The timing of penalties is always questionable when I'm watching football in general. All of a sudden on the last drive something that wasn't a penalty all game is getting called or vice versa, something that was a penalty all game now they're swallowing the whistle.

Nick you failed to mention WHEN they get those penalty calls, that is what the fans complain about. It's not nonsense, they get the call in their favor at the "right" time.

As a 9er fan, I ain't worried about Smallbear 🐻 Bosa comments about Kc Oline . I'm sure kyle is gonna let the Referee know all about it ...which Btw I i Believe the same Ref that officiated thier last match up ( male up game 😆) had 9ers held on in SB 54 Bosa was gonna be the MVP ..he destroyed fisher in that game ..12 hurries ,10 pressures and a fumble they didnt recover..if chase young can show up opposite of Bosa that would be great .

For all the trash talk about Purdy, why is it that nobody brings up the other QB's taken in the 2022 draft that had "talent"? If you're taken first of last in the draft, all that matters is that you were drafted.

Nick Wright: You can’t talk about QB as individuals the way we talk about NBA players because they never leave their team. Now let’s discuss QB’s separate from their team…
