- At the outset of our trip to CATALINA ISLAND, we board and ride the CATALINA FLYER from Balboa, Newport Beach, to AVALON HARBOR. For anyone contemplating taking this trip, I highly recommend it. It's a quick 75 min ride and it is very fun and interesting, especially if you see playful dolphins like we did along the way. Thanks to my new friends and subscribers EDDIE and MONA for doing the outros in this video series.

How was the weather?? The day I’m planning to go is 55 degrees 😩
The weather is just what it's like at the coast on the mainland, but the boat ride can be quite windy and cold if you are sitting outside on the deck. -WMM
I wanna buy the calatina ticket 2 ways. One way go and the other one return home in a day. How I buy it. Please tell me where to start
You can leave out of Newport Beach, or Long Beach or San Pedro. Buy the ticket and make a reservation online. Out of Newport Beach, go to www.catalinainfo.com/. Or out of Long Beach or San Pedro, go to www.catalinaexpress.com/. You can also check Groupon for any possible discounted deal there. Have fun.
I hope I don't get sea sick 😒
There was a guy who puked over the railing at the back of the boat, not too far from where I was standing. Unfortunately, I was not quick enough to capture it on video. But if you are prone to seasickness, you might consider taking a dramamine prior to departure. -WMM
Are masks required on the boat?
only on the interior decks, not the exterior, but even then very loosely enforced. Some people chose to wear a mask on the exterior upper deck, out on the open seas, with the equivalent of 40mph winds blowing.
