Do you just install mods to the ISO and download the ISO?

I install the iso then use Mario Kart Double Dash Patcher tool to patch individual mods to the iso

how do you get the .iso file for double dash? i can only find .ciso and it doesn't work for patcher

I found my copy at Vimms Lair and used Nkit to process it from a .nkit file to a .iso file
