Or maybe it's that in TPOT 5 when Winner fell in the lava, the others fell on him causing him to suffocate, but maybe that doesn't make sense, idk, the writers sometimes makes the show not make any sense
Maybe it's a psychological effect: Like, if Winner is prepared to fall in lava, Winner will survive (E14) But if the lava encounter is unexpected, Winner dies (E5) Thanks for reading my yapping :)
I like to consider Winner’s material as being similar to that of fiberglass, which has a melting point of up to 1,300°F, the lava that is exposed to the outside air is around the same temperature, so it’s possible that Winner’s material is slightly more fire-resistant than real-life fiberglass, just enough to withstand lava, but not enough to survive underground magma, which is a bit hotter at around 2,000°F.
the idea of a character adapting to extreme conditions from exposure does sound really cool, if its true i hope they explore this more with winner in other situations
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought about this …but another possible reason could be because the lava’s not as hot because it’s… outside?? Idk man
The Lava shouldn't change whether its underground or in a volcano, at least not enough for winner to be able to swim in it with minimal injuries (800 to 1200 degrees celcius you guys, THATS hot)

Heres my theory :) In tpot 5, winner was shown to be digging down through the crust of the Earth. Assuming that winner's arm is really good at digging, he could have possibly reached the top layer of the Earths mantle where practically any material could melt. Even if he didn't reach the mantle, winner definitely looked like he was deeper in the Earth conpared to in tpot 14 when he was really only in the throat/ vent of that volcano. TL:DR I think it all really comes down to how deep winner was in the earth in tpot 5, compared to in tpot 14.
If you look at the fumes made by Pencil,Donut and Pillow when they fell you can see that Winner didn't have any fumes when they fell into the lava. This makes me think that Winner's body might have a connection to the air that makes them immune, as in TPOT 5, Winner didn't really fall into lava but just dug right into it, while TPOT 14 Winner fell for a good 3 seconds before going into the lava, sorry for the essay.

Ok, so it’s like how heating glass up really fast, for example, causes it to explode. But when you heat the glass really slowly and evenly, it doesn’t explode, merely expanding
My theory is that he can survive in lava, it's just that apart of him has to be above the surface, and since he fell straight down with his team falling onto him, he couldn't go to the surface and died
This is a great concept, another idea would be that when winner dies they lose their adaptations, so when winner is able to survive something the substance is able to build a resistance
To be fair, this is like the plot hole in BFB 20 where the Have Cots were struggling to breathe in space at the start of the episode despite how all of its members have been to space before and some point and breathed in it without any issue. It could just be the case that whoever wrote this episode simply forgot Winner isn't immune to lava which would make this a moment of plot induced stupidity.
It's a good theory, plus I'm sure that the contestants are brought back to their form before being seriously injured/dying. Bomby exploded as a purple bomb but was brought back as purple. Woody also still has his missing chip, but that was before the show/competion began. It's a confusing thought because I remember Woody losing his dent & tangerine coloring post-split since he died. Maybe the recovery center only keeps things that don't seem like injuries. However, this doesn't excuse the tangerine juice. Recovery Centers are the real Retcons, I guess.
Here's my theory: Remember when Rocky barfed into the volcano when he got eliminated in TPOT 8? Well, the barf could have made the lava not as strong, but still strong enough to kill everyone except Winner.
That gives me another interesting idea... what if Winner's body just simply adapts to different environments? Obviously that wouldn't prevent them from being crushed or pulled apart, but maybe their body recognizes something and becomes stronger idk
Winner is a non-Newtonian fluid, hear me out, non-Newtonian fluids become solid under pressure, winner is sentient so emotional pressure could also affect him, in the clip where winner dies by lava, he is happy, therefore under no stress, in the other two clips winner is frightened and/or annoyed/angry, therefore under some pressure, technically non-Newtonian fluids don’t get more durable when under pressure, however, winner could be a mixture of multiple materials, like most non-Newtonian fluids are (at least to my knowledge) meaning that the fluid part could just be water that evaporates with the other material being dissolved within it meaning winner would die in water, but under stress, the other material that makes it act like a solid could be a heat resistant material, holding winner entirely together while winner is under stress in his solid form, and acting as a heat shield and, if it a metallic substance, dissipating the heat away from the water, this metal substance could be yoyle-ite as it has many unknown properties and the few we do know could match up well.
Call me delirious but this feels like it was made thinking about Dora, as in, the episode being sort of written pre TPOT 13, keeping the volcano plot as a scenario where she got to rejoin, then when that didn’t happen they reused it anyways and gave lava proof-ness to another character. Just a delirious thought from a Dora fan though.
Maybe it could have something to do with temperature. It’s known that the deeper underground you go, closer to the earth’s core, the hotter it gets, so my theory is the he higher up the lava is, the better Winner’s body can handle it
I believe winner has an ability to become fireproof, in that one bib episode she wasn’t expecting the lava so she didn’t actually use it, but since she was in a volcano she decided to use it just incase, and in tpot 13 when she got set on fire, fire doesn’t instantly kill someone so she had enough time to use it before dying!
Maybe it’s the fast temperature change in TPOT 5,from a likely cold and windy beach, directly to intense lava, and Winner was around some hot temperatures before going into the lava in TPOT 14,so his body adapted
I feel like, just to patch the plot hole, Winner would actually only be sensitive to heat below surface level. All heat above such levels would be enough for them to tolerate.
My theory is that winner can only sustain certain types of fire, aka fire… For example, in TPOT 5, it looked like winner was closer to the earth's core, aka where lava is the hottest. Which is why he died However, in TPOT 14, he only fell into a volcano, which might include an type of lava that winner's body can sustain, basically, winner's body is like fiberglass.
Maybe it’s the time of lava, the lava in Tpot 5 might have been to hot for winner to handle but Tpot 14 lava might be fine for Winner since it’s near a cold mountain
That was lava at the core so it’s super duper heated but the magma in volcano is seen to take its time when it melts spongy so it’s plausible that winner has a minor temperature resistance
Maybe Winner's lava/fire immunity is a commanded thing? Since they didn't see it coming in TPOT 5, they didn't have time to enable the ability, while in every other scene AFTER TPOT 5 that includes them in flames, they were looking directly at the situation coming towards them, and could brace themself.
Here’s my theory on this topic: Winner in episode 5 died, yes, but it wasn’t evolution that kept him alive in episode 14, rather, it was the temperature difference. Of course, Two probably made the volcano’s lava hot enough to still kill most of the cast, but accidentally not enough to kill winner, but In turn, when winner fell into the lava, which wasn’t made by two, and part of our earth, Winner died because the temperature was hot enough to kill winner. Of course, this means that winner has probably the highest heat resistance of a character that’s not fire or metal (or Davidian cause that’s what Dora is), but still is not able to surpass objects made of metal/fire, Davidians & Algebralians. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk. :)
Taco has been able to swim through lava before. For winner, this is nothing. I mean, what’s the thing made of, anyway? Blue mashed taters? I don’t know, you tell me!
My theory is The scene in TPOT 5 where The S dies in da lava and winner dying to was uncannon or... Since winner is a substance he changed color to act dead. But got eaten by that lava monster thats how he died
This might sound dumb, but maybe in TPOT 5 The S! Fell into like some special type of lava that made them immune to lava in the future? Like YF is the only other The S! member that's on CloudYay, and he didn't go in in TPOT 5. Not sure if any other The S! Members have died of lava since but still maybe this is dumb but that's just my theory.
Loser dying to lava went from 0 to 100 fast. The fire he was in and lived was from 25 to 75. And the volcano incident was a 75 to 100 since being on the volcano must be hot already. Loser can survive small changes to external temperatures while dying to high and fast changes. (Numbers aren't real, but examples/estimations).
I do like the idea of characters having unique creative powers and abilities. It felt a bit cheaty that it was mainly Teardrop that could do so before, now the physics of characters are being more utilized, like Snowball getting bigger with more snow, Yellow Faces ad world, or even Tree growing into a much larger version of himself (granted that feels less like an ability that he can control, but eh). It makes things more interesting, especially in a team perspective. All that to say, if this is an actual retcon, then I’m fine with it cause it gives Winner some interesting usability.
I KNOW! I WATCHED THE EPISODE WITH MY COUSIN AND I SHOUTED OUT THAT THEY DIED IN TPOT 5 TO LAVA, LIKE THEY BARELY HAVE ANY DEATHS AND YOU MAKE THEM IMMUNE TO THE ONE THEY ALREADY DIED TO??????
I don't see how they died in lava in TPOT 5 but actually survived the lava in TPOT 14 just because they're fire proof in TPOT 13, it makes actual no sense
I guess it's because of that purple tomato that Two gave to Winner, it has side effects that can make people lava-proof I guess it just needed to take a while for the side effects to actually work.
Tpot5 lava and tpot14 lava are way different in terms of temperature the lava in tpot5 and bfdia13 are a special substance that melts anything which is a gateway to the underworld/hell that coiny went to bring back pin while tpot5 lava and bfb15 lava have been cooled by the surface and isn’t as hot which explains why dora, winner and saw can swim through it
What if, because it is supposedly an “express” recovery center, it just teleported winner back to the surface? And it didn’t work with tree, because he was too big to be teleported…?
I think his ability to be immune to hot stuff is enabled on his own, during TPOT 5 he wasn’t focused and died. But in TPOT 14 he was more like focused and prepared, and in the van thing he got a heads up so he enabled it and survived.
Maybe When winner expects to Die their body adapts to not Die but When they are unaware they're gonna Die like in episode 5 they Die But remember it's just a theory! A goiky theory!
Well, BFDI realism upgrades every episode, Like every time the contestants go to space, they can breathe, but in BFB 20, they can no longer breathe there. Other example is that in bfdia, none of the characters need air to breathe, because they were underwater, but in tpot it was totally the opposite.
@@мадд I don't think you understand the argument here. A gag feat would be something that, canon or non-canon, is only occurring because the writers thought it would be funny or something along those lines. The character wouldn't normally be able to do that, but they can for the purpose of the joke. Now that I'm thinking about it, that could be why Winner died in TPOT 5 but is resistant in future episodes, it could've been a gag feat that doubled as an anti-feat (A character being weaker than they're meant to be).
Nobody dosent really mention this But the lava that Winner dies in seems less hot and the other lava is more hotter This makes your theory actually work
If this theory is true then it means winner could possibly build an immunity to anything and be immortal. Like, cold temps, high falls, sharp objects and more
To me if Winner was actually made out of a real existing material, it could probably be aerogel : Aerogel is the lightest material on Earth that can resist through more than 1000 degrees celcius (explaining why Winner is lava-proof here), but the way aerogel is makes it look like a cloud/steemy/fuzzy texture, a bit like Winner who was mistaken for a cloud in Tpot 1 and who to me, looks like foam or something similar I don't know what do you guys think but if he was actually made out of something real, what would it be to you ?
Do you think this Winner theory works? Or do you have another theory in mind?
...or do you think I'm overthinking this and it's plain simply a retcon-
That would explain why winner still has burn marks
Another explanation that I can think of is that the lava didn’t kill winner in tpot 5, something else in the lava did
.e whenthe
maybe after he died from the lava at Tpot 5 his body created a mechanism that adapts to that temperature, making him immune to the lava.
It’s probably dependant on the temperature of the lava, the higher the temperature is, the more likely winner is to die
Maybe it’s just the writers twisting logic just for the plot. But if this was a real ability, I hope this is used more in TPOT.
That doesn’t make sense, you can’t just twist logic in a story just to make something happen, that is just bad writing

Tpot5 lava and tpot14 lava are way different in terms of temperature the lava in tpot5 and bfdia13 are a special substance that melts anything which is a gateway to the underworld/hell that coiny went to bring back pin while tpot5 lava and bfb15 lava have been cooled by the surface and isn’t as hot which explains why dora, winner and saw can swim through it
Maybe he has a fireproof body, but in TPOT 5, his body was wet? Because of water and maybe because of that he lost his fireproof, he was just wet
Maybe the lava in Ep5 had a higher temperature that surpassed winner's melting point. M a y b e.
I think Winner used a potion fire resistance for surviving the lava
What if, because it is supposedly an “express” recovery center, it just teleported winner back to the surface? And it didn’t work with tree, because he was too big to be teleported…?
I think his ability to be immune to hot stuff is enabled on his own, during TPOT 5 he wasn’t focused and died. But in TPOT 14 he was more like focused and prepared, and in the van thing he got a heads up so he enabled it and survived.
my theory is that in tpot 7, winner secretly grabbed an item that made them immune to lava/fire
Everyone: HOLY CRAP WE ARE GONNA DIE
Pillow: yay death
that ending made me put the new forgis on my jeep to drive into the bloody bottoms underneath
i was thinking the substance becomes more immune over time but this is a better theory
How nobody talk about how Ice Cube died in water I. Tpot 5 but survived it in Bfdi 8
go go gadget lavaproof winner
Yellow facing being squishy is probably gonna be a a running gag isn't it
Maybe When winner expects to Die their body adapts to not Die but When they are unaware they're gonna Die like in episode 5 they Die
But remember it's just a theory!
A goiky theory!
I think it will be explained in a future episode (similiar to how Rocky got his vomit back)
I think Winner is a clay, he almost turned into a brick.
Well, BFDI realism upgrades every episode, Like every time the contestants go to space, they can breathe, but in BFB 20, they can no longer breathe there. Other example is that in bfdia, none of the characters need air to breathe, because they were underwater, but in tpot it was totally the opposite.
Don't forget that pencil died in lava there but in the bfdia 1 she was flaming and she was ok
that was supposed to be a gag, like leafy turning out to be football
@granty3796 this was still canon, because it's happened not in someone's imagination
@@мадд it's just a one-off gag, it's not canon.
@@granty3796 why you saying it like if everything from bfdi and bfdia is not canon?
@@мадд I don't think you understand the argument here. A gag feat would be something that, canon or non-canon, is only occurring because the writers thought it would be funny or something along those lines. The character wouldn't normally be able to do that, but they can for the purpose of the joke.
Now that I'm thinking about it, that could be why Winner died in TPOT 5 but is resistant in future episodes, it could've been a gag feat that doubled as an anti-feat (A character being weaker than they're meant to be).
Winner can absorb things (Tomato in tpot 1) so its possible he absorbed tpot 13 fire and grew heat immunity because of it
Maybe winner did survive in tpot 5 but killed himself offscreen cuz he had no way to go
OR winner didn't die in tpot 5 but died to a lava fish monster!!1!
Nobody dosent really mention this
But the lava that Winner dies in seems less hot and the other lava is more hotter
This makes your theory actually work
If this theory is true then it means winner could possibly build an immunity to anything and be immortal. Like, cold temps, high falls, sharp objects and more
To me if Winner was actually made out of a real existing material, it could probably be aerogel : Aerogel is the lightest material on Earth that can resist through more than 1000 degrees celcius (explaining why Winner is lava-proof here), but the way aerogel is makes it look like a cloud/steemy/fuzzy texture, a bit like Winner who was mistaken for a cloud in Tpot 1 and who to me, looks like foam or something similar
I don't know what do you guys think but if he was actually made out of something real, what would it be to you ?
Maybe the lava was just hot
The last one he got that cake at skate 😳🤑
There don’t have theory guys it is just because Winner forgot he isn’t immune to lava
it could be some sort of oobleck but permanent or some super cell that adapts extremely well
IF HE DIED IN TPOT 5 TO LAVA THEN HOW THE FRICK.
BRO TURNED ON CREATIVE MODE
they*
I think the shovel just bashed him in the head
good job on cleaning a retcon
it better be that winner can actually adapt and its not just writers messing up the logic
Id say they have a VERY high melting point, and the tpot 14 lava isn’t as hot at the lava lower down into the earth in tpot 5
