those trees around the 4.30 mark through to the bbq area are brilliant, nicely captured, love bush scene like that with all the mist. The 8 foot trail markers tell a story about the snow we can expect soon 😛 Never a fail, just a step closer....Hope the knee is okay ✌🏻
It really was beautiful and I can’t wait to revisit the trail; I love the high country. Yes, the knee is fine now; it was an interesting hike back to the car though 😅. Thanks again for watching and leaving a lovely comment :)
It certainly does! A humble reminder to respect the beautiful high country and all she brings! Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment :)
Cheers for sharing. I firmly believe that we learn the best lessons outside our comfort zone and the only way to get there is by pushing our boundaries. It takes courage to approach a challenge but also takes courage to acknowledge when you are pushing the limits of safety and change plans accordingly rather than let ego make you push through. I really appreciate that you shared this trip even if it wasn't quite what you had planned.
Thanks so much for the encouraging comment. I’m grateful I was able to push myself and learn some important lessons from this one. The high country is definitely not to be trifled with or underestimated, that’s for sure. .
I take my hat off to you for trying this adventure on your own. The cold weathers are always a challenge. But you did well still. Keep up the great videos , love watching them. Your dogs are gorgeous too.
Hi, good video im doing this hike in a couple of weeks just wondering about parking at baw baw can you just turn up and park ?? Thanks , oh and never hike in thermals they will just get wet from perspiration put them on when you camp 👍
Thanks so much for watching and for the great tip!! If you head past the car parks to the left and right, the last carpark you come to is where I parked (at the entrance to the resort) there was no cost, but during snow season I think there’s a cost at the bottom of the mountain. All the best for the hike! I can’t wait to get back there
Thanks so much for watching :) For hiking, I use GoPro Hero 10’s and some of the B roll clips are taken on my iPhone 13 plus. I find the GoPros to be pretty good overall; not so good in low light though.
@@youmeandtheGSDs awesome thanks for that. I would like to get into creating content while day hiking. I will probably just use my phone and a gimble to start with.
@NoProb4Rob sounds great! It’s a lot of work but loads of fun. I’m still learning heaps but I enjoy doing it. It’s a great way of looking back on memories too.
@@youmeandtheGSDs thanks for the info. I appreciate watching someone who is learning as they tend to be more interactive and helpful. I wish you all the best in your explorations. I am trying to get friends and their kids, plus my family to join me in exploring local sights here in Auckland. Going bush would be extra fun though. Well done to you!
Outstanding episode, shots are so diverse and simply enjoyable!
Thankyou so much :)

Wow, this is what I call an adventure! Sometimes the weather really humbles you when you are outside on the trail. Great upload

a shortish overnighter like this is exactly how you gain experience and test boundaries, as you said you learned a lot.
Thanks so much for watching!

Great content. What camera do you use? In the duller conditions it still took good footage.
Thanks so much for watching :)
