I think I prefer the magnetic base over the PopGrip, it's more subtle. Thanks for sharing this review Lizz and hey are you using a teleprompter or are you winging it because you're speaking perfectly, something I can never do for my videos haha.
Ah yes I think the magnetic base is more subtle too. I bet your wife would love it. I remember she was interested in the MagSafe PopGrip, sorry my review took so long to create lol. And thank you so much, I’m just winging it :) a teleprompter would be too much for me to setup. My office is already a mess when I film haha
So helpful! Very informative and concise. Thank you so much! I think I’ll go with the magnetic base. Super sleek and fits perfectly and does an amazing job and has way more colors and is cheaper. Thanks again!! :)
This was a very helpful video and review! Thank you for making it. I love my Popsockets also, and I think that I will get the magnetic base. I love magnetic wireless charging, but I was worried about not being able to use it with a Popsocket. The magnetic base will allow me to be fun and creative with my phone accessories.
You helped me with my choice. I have been looking at the popsocket magsafe, but the price was kind of stopping me from purchasing it lol. The magnetic base option seemed to stay put better though so I’ll stick with that for now.
I have both of those and the larger magsafe does have a stronger magnet. It is more comfortable, also. I just don’t like how large it is . I ended buying MagSafe cases only to stick a pop socket to the cases. This is not ideal but I don’t have any other MagSafe products so for now, I’ll go with it but I really enjoyed this review. Thank you 🙏.
It finally arrived to my home few days ago. I really kove this. Magnet is strong enough to hold with popgrip. I use this with mous case (leather texture), 13 pro
I have to be honest I haven’t been able to shake the pop grip free and I really went at it shaking it (to the point I thought my phone would fly away through a window lol) I’ve got the basic black one with a official Apple leather case so maybe those materials create a stronger seal?
I ended up returning the magnetic base I ordered from Amazon. The magnet is weak. So I ended up ordering the PopGrip Slide from Popsockets that’s compatible with the 13 Pro Max. I tried all other alternatives but the magnets ain’t gonna work for such a heavy phone. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
This is the comment I was looking for because I have a iPhone 13 pro max and looking for a pop socket at well but didn’t know which one to buy. I did see some on Amazon but wasn’t to sure until I seen this comment thank you.
@@TWZT3DMIND3D You’re welcome. You have to get the PopGrip (squared edges) to fit the iPhone 13. I got mine from the Popsocket’s website. Hope this helps.
Lovely video! I have the magnetic base/plate (Super One brand). I tried the Popsocket route first; didn't work out as I'd hoped. Guess My case (a Otterbox Defender XT; only Magsafe-enabled rugged case they make) was too heavy, as the socket kept collapsing. So I went with the ring variety. MUCH better. Overall, I guess it depends on a few factors, such as phone size, case and weight. Mine is the iPhone 12 ProMax w/the aforementioned Defender XT. Figured the weight and size of the ProMax was just too much for the little plastic puck. I love these new Pop Magsafe Grips; I always like a reputable brand's take on a given product. But as it stands, it looks like these Grips are more targeted at the casual market (average consumer with a standard 12/Mini/Pro). But that's great. That usually leads to the manufacturer to start making SKUs targeted to the niche Max-sized phone. Let's hope anyway.
Do you still like the magnetic base and pop socket combo best? I am getting an iPhone with MagSafe so I like being able to have the option of removing the pop socket to use a MagSafe charger….this is all new to me…thanks for any additional info.😊
Just bought a pop grip. Preferred it ngl, and I’m gonna probably swap the pop top with one from Star Wars or Pokémon since I got the nebula one. It looks cool with my blue 12 & the otterbox case I have on it
I don't like having my popsocket right in the middle of the back of the phone. I like to have mine a little lower towards to the bottom of the phone. Is there away around this?
So the popgrip is actually thinner, that’s surprising. I don’t use any mag safe accessories at all, so I’m really considering just getting a regular pop socket and sticking it on the back of my phone. I don’t really feel like I’m missing out by not using wireless charging or anything.
Which one lays flatter on the actual phone? I see that the magnetic base has a little indentation which makes it look like the pop socket might not stick out from the phone as much. If you had the same exact phone, and laid them flat with the pop socket closed which one sticks up more?
Thanks for the video. Nice to see girls doing this! Way to represent! Glad you're doing this. Did I hear right that the magnetic popsocket holds better on the magsafe case even moreso than the bare phone with no case?
Thank you so much! I did not want to spend $30 on Popsockets MagSafe grip. I just think it’s ugly and takes away from the simplicity of the phone. I’m adding the other one to my amazon cart now!
@@zacgarbos1833 oh! Got it. I don’t have the PopSocket car mount, but I would think it’d still work since the PopSocket would just latch on to the car mount like normal. The magnets are pretty strong so I don’t think you’d have a problem (as long as you are using a MagSafe case)
You have to mount the PopSocket in the middle of the magnetic base for it to work. Then the magnetic base is easily removable because it just magnetizes onto the MagSafe case. So I don’t think you’d be able to put the PopSocket toward the bottom of the phone.
It depends on your case. I have no marks on my silicone cases, but have minimal marks on the leather cases ☺️ (also not sure if the marks on the leather case are due to the heat of MagSafe charging)
Nice review, thanks! Can you do a review for the PopWallet+ for MagSafe? That looks like a super good product to try out and see how well it integrates via MagSafe.
There is some incorrect information in here. First off, the pop grip is more magnetic, and more strong than the pop socket base.. This is due to the pop grip having more magnets the pop socket base does not use the MagSafe lower magnets on the iPhone, while the pop grip does. Also, all pop sockets are swappable. If you get the pop grip, you can absolutely swap to a different pop socket the base of the pop grip they have the same design, but you can swap the pop socket self.
Is the magnetic base made of metal? Reason I ask is because I'm interested in using one as a magnetic plate for my non MagSafe phone magnets I have in various locations.
@@LizzLovesTech that’s my main concern. I have old magnet mounts that aren’t big enough or strong enough to stick to the size of the MagSafe size. I don’t want to replace every magnet I have and if this “plate” can stick to smaller sized magents I’d buy it
You did not show us If you get an official MagSafe product notification when using a pop socket product. For example if you use an official apple case MagSafe puck or Waller you will get the big notification on the screen once connected. Does the pop socket do that as well. Would love to see you review the pop socket MagSafe wallet please and show us if you get an official notification as a MagSafe product please and thank you. The MagSafe PopSocket does not have the official MagSafe product notification when it attached to the phone! I’ve had other requests for the PopSocket MagSafe wallet. So I may have to check it out :)
Did anyone else find the metal magnetic base scratched their phone case? I have a Casetify iridescent magsafe case and it is covered in tiny scratches after only a week. The Popsocket official one doesn’t scratch it at all, but its so big and covers my customization. Not entirely happy with either solution. Also in my test I found the magnetic grip was not as strong as popgrip. You can swap the top on a popgrip so it is customizable. I originally preferred the magnetic base for its looks, but had to switch back to popgrip to save my case from being destroyed.
@@bexguile4500 you need a MagSafe compatible case. You can probably search on Amazon for MagSafe case for Samsung s20. Just make sure it has the magnetic ring on the case for MagSafe :)
You can switch out the pop sockets on the pop grip though and use any pop socket you want though so why not mention that? Don’t lie and also it’s much easier to switch because there’s no adhensive just press down and turn 90 degrees and you can reuse over and over not have to throw away because the adhesive only works once.
