  • Black's 4...Qe7 is an ancient way of fortifying the Giuoco Piano that dates all the way back to the games of Gioachino Greco in the 17th century. Here Black's 7...h6 weakened the g6 square and invited the typical maneuver Nf3-h4.

Won 7 of 7 games today using this opening with both black and white...love the giuoco pianissimo...this so-called
"quiet game" can be tricky and aggressive...recommend it.

Doesn't the Giuoco Pianissimo usually have d3 instead of d4?

Poor guy really thought that f7 pawn was free the whole game. Thanks for the video, John.

It's weird how the brain works. I had thought of Ng6, but only considered it if he would play ...g6 prevent Nf5. I never considered it without the ...g6 move, even though it's basically the exact same idea.

Black played well apart from his blindness to the pinned f7 pawn.

"Suggestion" is not hard to say quickly. "Unique New York" is hard to say quickly. I can say it five times fast, but you can't.
