Skybound was so full of missed potential, it is downright infuriating. Jay gets kidnapped and tortured by pirates, watches all his friends effectively die, the friends he has left are angry at him, and it’s all his fault. His mental health is dragged through the dirt and he walks it off, we never get any mention of it again, besides some cheeky references that have no payoff. Nya dies painfully and just doesn't care. Nadakhan had the potential to be so much more complex and interesting as a villain, but no, he needed a creepy obsession with Nya, sure. The ending was not terrible, but it felt hollow. It could have worked if the characters actually were impacted by their trauma, but they weren't, it was over in an instant. This season could have been so much more, and it suffered from an overstuffed, confused plot, with no clear direction or motive, bastardization of multiple characters, and no impact during or after it took place. TL;DR Skybound was a mess, but full of missed character moments and good ideas mixed in a sea of bad writing
A much better ending to this could’ve been: Jay rewound time, brining them back to the moment when Nya could’ve held his hand. But, instead of brushing everything off, a terrified look fills his eyes, and he starts panicking. To still get that Jaya moment, Nya used her airjitzu and flew up to Jay, hugging him tight and comforting him. A tear runs down their faces and they just sit there. The other ninja are confused, but worried, and go to comfort their friends.
I’m still a FIRM believer that Cole should have had a more permanent and highlighted fear of water from being a ghost. We deserved more “Cole reacting to *being alive again”* moments
I think in Prime Empire when Cole was hanging onto the rope and almost gonna fall, that did trigger PTSD in Kai. Cuz Kai had ONE life left, yet he still leaped down to make sure Cole didn’t fall to his death again
I would love to see the ninja struggle with past traumas like real people do and it’s not to make ninjago dark it’s to make the characters more interesting and have more depth
Don't forget how in season two Lloyd was physically and mentally forced to turn older and had to deal with that and lose his childhood overnight 😭 AND HE NEVER MENTIONS IT 😡
@@HiHi-lt1cbnone of the ninja except Jay and Nya remember it. There’s a moment somewhere S10 and past that season where they talk about it but none of the others remember anything that happened
He still has emotions though. He reacts to the fear he sees in the mirror while they were trying to retrieve the second scroll so I think he should have some sort of fear or trauma. That’s just my thought on this.
In Master of the Mountain, Lloyd has another moment of PTSD when he tells Cole to not trust Vania because she's a princess. And in The Island, Jay is scared to walk on the bridge because in the past, bridges always fall.
This is wonderful!! And SUCH an important topic. Lloyd literally having to give up his childhood both physically and mentally to stop his FATHER is something I will never get over. The poor kid is, well, a KID trapped in an older body. It’s so painful and I wish they talked about that extreme trauma in-depth!! 😭
Thanks do Dragons Rising we got Kai talking about his trauma about Nya turning into the ocean with Wyldfire is a way better thing than whateaver trauma was handled last seasons
I still think from tournament of elements the Kai being corrupted by the staff thing should have had lasting effects. Either Lloyd realizing some of Kai’s issues from it or Kai being slightly worried that he could slip back into it. Would have been nice to have some minor mentions especially since Possession would’ve been a great place to portray that as the next season and the whole thing in that season was Morro controlling Lloyd. Still fine without it, but it could have been interesting
THIS is a big reason why i migrated to monkie kid. in monkie kid, mk actually struggles with events that happened last seasons. hes still scarred from his fight with the lady bone demon and went through a lot of character growth throughout the show. and its not just mk either, all the other characters are shown to have trauma from old events and the show portrays their struggles very well for a kids lego show
I'm glad that the new Ninjago book Quest for the lost powers, is going to talk about Zane being the ice emperor and his feelings about it. I wish we could have seen it in the show, but it's better than nothing
ninjago has a favoritism problem. they handle llyoids trauma so well (....until crystalized) and for the other ninja they are like "nah have a character change because of past experiences? we don't do that here"
The benefit of grief was such a great episode and I was so excited for Zane’s arc to continue but no, it just ends. Usually I would be fine with it but the episodes are 11 minutes now which isn’t enough time to go through an entire emotional arc.
they literally said "nah lloyd is the main character not you guys" then just moved on to something else(something that particularly has little to no plot change in the story at all)
FINALLY, SOMEONE MADE VIDEO ON IT. I'm so mad that traumas almost never brought up as something characters experienced and felt, and this is brilliant. Like, I love and hate to think about it, Ice Emperor being as one example. I know story in the season is a bit waky, but if you think about how many time Zane spend as Ice Emperor, you'll soon understand that from logical point Akita was born when Zane was already a ruler. She probably was RAISED, running away from the ice and danger he caused. Don't know about poor nindroid, but I would never forgiven myself for turning somebody's life into nightmare since the day they were born.
There's an entire RUclips recap season called Decoded that tackles Zanes trauma from Rebooted. He literally locked it away in order to properly reboot in season 4. Plus ToE spends Zanes entire arc about learning who he is and how he'll never be able to return to what he was before. It's not direct but TOE hinges on past events like the Wu/Misako from S2, Zanes death in rebooted, as well as mending the abandoned serpentine/human relationship from S1. Other than TOE I agree Ninjago does a crummy job showing how the experiences the Ninja go through affect them.
I thought that it would have been interesting if when Cole fell, is ghost scar came back and he was partially “bodyless” for a bit and that’s how he survived
I really wished they would have spent more time on Zane remembering whp he is in the element turnament season. I really liked the scenes where he interacts with the dragon in his head. Like theres this thing inside of you that youre very afraid of, its dangerous, but its a part of you. You might not remember it, or know anything about it, but its there and its a central part of you. I talked to a friend about it and they thought the dragon could represent trauma that youve locked away and forgotten. I think the dragon represents the personality you loose after a traumatic event and you want to rediscover it to heal. Youre scared but determined and just need to know, even if you have no idea what will happen once you know.
This video makes so much sense and so manh good points! I love Ninjago so much, but I always feel like if some parts of it were rewritten, like OOC moments or, most of all, how they handle deep real life issues like trauma and other experiences similar to it, especially for Skybound (one of my favorite seasons, too, despite its flaws), Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu, and Crystalized. I get this is a kid's show, but it has/had so much juicy potential to have loads more interior depth and substance. (I know I'm months late, but I just found this so yea lol)
Another thing about hunted is how Iron Barons throne is literally made out of the bones from the ultra dragon aka the ninja's dragons and yet it is, as far as I'm aware, never mentioned in the show other than maybe Kai saying he already hates Iron Baron after seeing his throne but otherwise no reaction or even a scene of one of the other ninja mentioning it to Cole or Lloyd.
To be fair, considering that the Ultra Dragon was Lloyd's dragon, I could see the other ninja just mutually agreeing not to tell Lloyd about that because of everything that he'd just been through.
The writers seem to like repeatedly hitting Zane with the angst shovel. First it was his personality, then it was his body and mind, then when they got bored of doing that for a long, long time, they went back to his personality.
This problem kinda undermines on their whole "unbeatable friendship" the creators are trying to sell If Lloyd in s11 prefers to vent to randoms instead of to his friends, it means he is not that comfortable with them
Yeah it does have a lot of flaws sometimes but still is good. One thing dragons rising improved on was Lloyd. In episode 5 when he meets euphrasia the new master of wind he says how he didn’t like the last one referring when he was possessed so it actually showed how years later he’s still suffering trauma from that event. And in episode 17 they show how Kai was affected by Nya merging with the sea but how he meditated through it. Dragons rising fixed a lot of these issues. Also Zane did actually have a moment reflecting on the ice emperor but it was in a canon book between crystallized and dragons rising S1 called the quest for lost powers. Wish we actually got it in the show though
Y'know what you said about Cole bottling up his feelings and never sharing with the group? I actually wonder sometimes if Cole struggles with emotional neglect. If you haven't heard of it before, it basically refers to people whose parents didn't pay adequate attention to their emotional needs when they were children. It can be chronic (happening over the long term) or acute (happening during some critical moment of stress). I would guess that Lou being absent while Cole was struggling with Lily's death would qualify as acute emotional neglect. Emotionally neglected people often have a hard time expressing or even allowing themselves to feel their feelings because, since their caregivers didn't pay enough attention to their emotional needs, they grow up thinking that their emotions are something unimportant, or even something weak that they should be ashamed of. This carries over into their needs in general: emotionally neglected people often have difficulty prioritizing their own needs or saying "no" to people because they think their needs don't matter. This would fit with both the fact that Cole doesn't talk about his feelings with the others and with the fact that he's the dad of the group who always looks out for the others. Conversely, emotionally neglected people have difficulties with empathy and understanding others' emotions because they never learned much about emotions, period. They also frequently have low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. I'm not sure that Cole really struggles with that. But it's some interesting food for thought regarding Cole. Honestly, some of the trauma that the ninja have been through should affect their personalities more. Lloyd spent the first ten years of his life in a school which was meant to teach children to be supervillains. I suspect that bullying was rampant, adults were far from caring, and any signs of emotion and vulnerability would have been ruthlessly exploited. Lloyd should have probably had trust issues from the beginning. Edit: It occurred to me that emotionally neglected people often tend to be more go-with-the-flow type of people, because they're so used to putting their needs aside and adjusting to other people's needs. I think that kind of fits Cole, too. Edit 2: I just watched Corbyin's video on Cole. I take it back, Cole struggles with low self-esteem and depression. So I think there's a decent chance that he does struggle with emotional neglect.
As a big Zane fan, season 11 pissed the sh_t out of me. Like, you could show AT LEAST FEW TIMES how he feels! At this point, he's just turning into punchbag character. And about Seabound; **inhale** WHY DID THEY FOCUS OF JAY'S FEELING DURING AND AFTER FINALE?! WHAT ABOUT KAI?! NYA IS LITERALLY HIS SISTER, THE ONLY RELATIVE HE HAD HIS ENTIRE LIFE, AND YOU JUST GONNA SKIP HIS TRAUMA JUST SO WE CAN SEE SOME BOYFRIEND STUGGLE WITH THAT?! I have nothing against Jay but..dude..
My guess was that the writers behind the show from that time didn’t experience any grief of losing a loved one in the family. Don’t know, it’s my guess 🫤
I always like to think about this in a sense of "going through this crazy bs on a regular basis has completely desensitized them from being traumatized to most of these events" I will say that lloyd does show to have trauma in relation to trusting people ever since the sons of garmadon
I guess? But to me it seems like an excuse for poor writing I just wish they reference more stuff And even if you go through traumatizing events almost every day i still feel like they would be affected by, idk, Zane dying, or jay being tortured and losing all his friends, y'know But you're right about lloyd
@@insertunoroginalnamehere6189 they did show trouble with zane dying (until he was brought back), but the nahdakahn thing was never referenced again, but that was due to complicated "none of it ever happened due to wish" thing.
@@insertunoroginalnamehere6189 probably, but at the same time, everything was still reversed. but I don't know how that affects everything in regards to psychological stuff but you are right that they probably still could have done a better job with this stuff.
All of them should have had their trauma discussed or dealt with. Like, they have all been through literal hell. (This is going to be a bit of a rant) I feel like Lloyd, Kai, Jay, and Cole should all have had some form of negative reaction to water. Cole became a ghost, meaning he most likely developed a fear of water because for a while it could've killed him. Kai has had an intense fear of water because he can't swim. It has been briefly touched on but only for plot convenience. Kai has almost drowned twice, once while saving Lloyd after he was possessed by Morro, an the second time while he was fighting Kallmar. Jay also nearly drowned during the same season Nya sacrificed herself. I feel like those should've been addressed. Lloyd should've had some reaction towards reminders of Morro or the affects of having been possessed. Morro's a dead guy, a ghost, he doesn't need nutrition so he most likely only gave Lloyd's body the bare minimum in order to survive. Plus any storms with strong winds should've reminded Lloyd of Morro in some way. He also should've had more of a reaction to his relationship with his Mother and her suddenly coming back. Nya and Kai did, why couldn't he? Misako had completely abandoned him at Darkely's, and oh yeah, they never mention how awful that school must've been or the fact that Lloyd was a homeless child for a while. Cole should've also had some form of trauma from the fall and his mother's death but that's already been discussed. As mentioned in the video, Skybound hould've heavily affected Nya and Jay. Realistically the two would've had nightmares for weeks or certain triggers that could possibly cause a panic attack. JUST. GIVE. US. SOMETHING. Zane handling his countless near death and actual death experiences should be mentioned and dealt with aling with him becoming the Ice Emperor, but again, this has been talked about. Kai feeling useless because he lost his powers, maybe touch on that? Same with when Nya lost hers. I'm also pretty sure that NONE OF THEM would be okay after the sheer amount of near, and actual death experiences they have had. Kai's almost died a couple times, Jay's almost died a few times, we know Cole's almost died before and technically did since he became a ghost, Nya has died and has almost died, granted Lloyd and Zane are really the only ones with 100% canon deaths and of course the casual near death experiences. None of these characters should be okay.
Zane is my favorite character in Ninjago, so seeing how unaffected Zane was after s11 made me so disappointed. He was stranded, lost his memories, manipulated, hurt and killed thousands, and ruled a kingdom for decades. Then when he finally remembers everything and gets to return home, he just returns as if nothing even happened? It was really upsetting.
13:20 agreed but i genuinely despise how jay was the only one widely affected by it. like kai is literally nya’s brother and he barely seemed like he gave a shit about her “death/passing” 🤦🏾♀️.
I absolutely loved this video! It's a shame that trauma doesn't really get addressed in this show. Also, I'd love a Crystalized rant video because at this point, I'll take em all day!
Damn I never even thought about the zane ice emperor thing. but it is true, how this guy go from being ice realm hitler for 3 decades and not even apologize or have any regrets or nothing? Good video btw
Zane had it the worst. Zane full on died in rebooted only to be brought back with no consequence. I firmly believe he should have stayed dead through the entirety of the tournament of elements. Maybe hint at his return at by having Chen use ice without the ninja or viewers knowing about zane and having kai react to it (since he had that fight with chen where the staff breaks). have them discover pixel broken down at the end of the season and reveal that zane is alive. Possession could’ve had zane appear as a ghost or something else since he’s a robot. Maybe a disembodied piece of code like the overlord in rebooted or have him possess a retired nindroid body from rebooted. I know he was probably brought back right away because lego wanted zane sets to sell, but still would’ve been nice. Also everything you mentioned about ice emperor zane is very valid. It’s almost like the end of rebooted again. Hugely traumatic experience completely thrown out of his personality by the end of the season. And then him dying and the goofy ice emperor bits just make both of these worse since it makes these important character moments into jokes instead of good writing.
Instead, we got the Ice Emperor trauma incorporated into the book called “Quest for Lost Powers.” The fact that they incorporated the trauma into Zane’s chapter of the story which should’ve been in the show instead, was so beyond me. Honestly the writers took a massive L for failing to acknowledge about Zane’s trauma of being the Ice Emperor. 🤦♂️
With HoT it was weird how they brought back Kai and Nya's parents but then didn't... do anything with it? Like Kai and Nya came out from the season the same as they went in, just with parents now who were mostly just a plot device. It wasn't until Seabound that we actually got to see any complicated feelings around their return - in HoT all we got was Kai wondering if they were destined to be evil because their parents might be?? It would have been way cooler if they'd taken the parents plot as a chance to delve more into Kai and Nya's childhoods and how that shaped them into who they are now, lord knows Kai's character could use some introspection.
Kai's character could use lots of introspection. ToE seemed like it was setting up for some, but I guess Skylor was more important... Not that I dislike Skylor; I just wish the show had focused more on the "I should have been the one" bit that got set up in the first episode. I would love to know why Kai felt that way.
Nothing like seeing Lloyd still beliving there is good in Harumi and still carign about her even after she "killed" all his friends-familly without batting an eye ! TRULLY GREAT MESSEGE ! Personally for me after sh*t like that I wouldn't even care if a person had some good left, they just killed my WHOLE FAMILLY AND BEFORE TAHT HEAVELLY TRAUMATIZED ME ( for no real reason bc Lloyd was a kid back when that giant snake killed her parents) LLOYD WHAT ARE YOU DOOING 0-0 Ofc we know they weren't killed and Lloyd finds out later too BUT EVEN WHEN HE THINKS THAT HARUMI MURRDERED THEM HE IS STILL HOLDING ONTO HIS FEELINGS FOR HARUMI 0-0
YEAH LIKE i mean some victims still love their abuser Maybe because of the way they learned to love? So they don't know what true love is I mean Lloyds father was evil before (and I'm not sure about the much earlier seasons please don't spoil it for me) and Lloyd looked up to him during ROTS and you could still tell while Lloyd had to fight him he still cares about him and Garmadon showed care for him too WHILE fighting him And his mom abandoned him and then suddenly came back and made up excuses for it and Lloyd forgives her I just feel like Lloyd has the wrong idea about what love is Because his parents in the much earlier seasons did some pretty bad stuff to him and others but still told him they loved him So maybe he thinks that even though people try to kill him ahd others he loves he thinks they're still s good person/he still loves them because of past experiences But that's just a theory
@@insertunoroginalnamehere6189 It's a nice theory and It would fit but the problem is that he sees that in Harumi who hasn't shown any signs of kidness tword hima nd did awfull things and then you have Garmadon who is trying to change yet Lloyd views him as irredimeble but besides that..Lloyd alredy has his true familly and these are ninjas..the ones who Harumi " killed" right in front of him + mocking him about it TwT
@@Angela-ur5yf yeah i really hope Lloyd and Harumi don't get together even if he forgives her because i feel like it would demonstrate a very toxic message of forgiving extremely abusive people even after all the damage they did to your mental health
@@insertunoroginalnamehere6189 "because i feel like it would demonstrate a very toxic message of forgiving extremely abusive people even after all the damage they did to your mental health" Well it COULD work as long as it gets some proper moments and development. Like Amity.
Yeah this is basically like TMNT 2012 or Voltron: Legendary Defenders. Where the shows don’t flesh out more on the trauma that happened to their characters {for example: Donnie getting beeping turned into atoms in the season 4 episode, The Power Inside Of Her. And another example is when Lance dies during the first episode of season 6}
He should’ve been the one who’ve stayed back the longest and said that he was super sorry and that he knows they might not forgive him but he is sorry a Then leaves.
And I’ll give the show one thing when jay was scared on the island he was scared because of the memory of skybounds tiger widow spider chase idk but it might be the same bridge
Another thing if rom s3: Kai was literally almost cooked alive after being kidnapped. And its NEVER brought up at ALL Also personally I love season 6 but yes season 7 is bad and your opinions are yoir opinions
If you’ve read the Quest for the Lost Powers ninjago book that just came out, it actually addresses Zane’s trauma from being the Ice Emperor! While it would have been a lot better to do this during the show, they at least address this somewhere.
@@Corbyin I know that; I was just letting other people know that some of what you talked about in this video actually DOES get addressed by Ninjago’s creators. I just happened to remember this video as I was reading the book and decided to leave a comment. Sorry for the confusion.
THANK YOU. This is one of the many reasons I’ve been feeling so disappointed with Ninjago this past half-a-decade. When I first began watching, I enjoyed the goofy lightheartedness of the first couple seasons and wanted nothing more. When I watched seasons 3-6, I was thrilled by the implications and promises of more serious themes and the main characters struggling with darker feelings, and the very few times those promises came through, it kept me glued to my seat in the seasons to come. However, the New Age style of writing makes me so mad: they introduce a dark plot element and want for the audience to take it seriously (i.e., Cole’s fall), and we do, because they can be some of the best parts of the show. But as soon as the writers are done with that season, they wipe their hands clean of whatever they’d previously written and use it in later seasons as a joke, as if the events would in no way have left an effect on the characters. Because of this, I can’t take the story or characters seriously anymore, because of the constant disappointment. You did a really good job illustrating these points, and I enjoyed watching this video! You clearly have a good grasp on what good writing is, so I look forward to watching more of your videos!
8:58 what bout when Lloyd dies during the series finale. Like everyone was sad about him, but after he wakes up they pretty much forget about it. And to add a bit of an insults, they never explain to Lloyd that he died during the Wildbrains series
I really never looked at Ninjago like this. But now I see it’s their biggest flaw. Also how they bring back dead characters. But that’s not an issue for I love all characters in some way. Definitely, think the writers should’ve showed trauma in Zane. Much like Lloyd he’s been through a lot. The ending of skybound was terrible but I did enjoy the season. Jays ark skyrocketed. What makes me mad is that he went back to being how he was before.
5:22 it was revealed in this season that Kai has Aquaphobia. And maybe Lloyd might have it too, due to the fact that he nearly drowns back at the tombs of the first spinjitzu master
Great video but I will say in tommy ( could be Canon novel) the splinter in the blind mans eye Lloyd does show a lot more trauma from the past season and everything that happened to him but as I said it is maybe Canon
Something I've realized is that at least in the books everyone gets character development regarding trauma. Even Wu's crappy life was brought up through a nightmare if him seeing everyone he's failed. I think because it's still considered a LEGO kid's show Tommy can't show most of the darker aspects.
@@insertunoroginalnamehere6189 But if they showed realistic reactions to the ninjas' trauma, it could get too dark. For example, (TRIGGER WARNING) I strongly suspect that Lloyd could have been suicidal at the beginning of Hunted. I don't think he is in the show, but if their trauma was portrayed realistically, he very well could have been. I don't know if that would fly in a kids' show.
Saying that season 3 left nothing on Zane is blatantly ignorant. He has an existential crisis in season 4 as he spent the first 3 seasons proving that he's human but after rebuilding himself is he really more than a robot? Then eventually learns to accept himself for who he is
First off I love this. Secondly I think saying nothing traumatizing happened in season four isn’t really true. Kai faking betrayal and basically handing Lloyd to Chen without telling Lloyd that he was just acting would be pretty traumatic for Lloyd, and after that when Kai finally shows that he was acting, he falls under the corruption of the staff of elements and almost kills Lloyd and skylor. I’ve always hated that those two events happen and after the whole fight are never brought up again. Like it never happened at all. Also not to mention in this season lloyd had to send his dad to Lego hell to save everyone. So I think season four was pretty traumatizing.
to be fair, in tournament of elements, we see that the ninja split for at least a few months due to the loss of Zane and get normal jobs cuz they don't wanna fight and lose another person. it puts a rift in the group, and yeah, it is just in episode 1, but i feel like it was a missed opportunity to not bring it up.
I think it has to do with it's status quo problem. As a big fan of Ninjago, I won't deny it has it's issues. Hopefully, the 2023 show can fixes it's issues.
Quest For The Lost Powers addresses Zane’s trauma. It reveals that he is extremely traumatised and guilty because of the Ice Emperor and is very opposed to thinking about it.
I think zane is "abused" so much is kind resonable, he is a robot with alot of value and he can be manipulate and used in ways you can't use other humans, I think they should give zane a ark where he decides it will be better is he wasn't a robot he may think it is to risky for him to be on field so shit like the mechanic used him to open up a portal don't happen lol Like he pretty much has this infinite power source in side him if he gose down the villains can just snack him and make him evil like ice empire lol Villains can steal his power source and do shit idk I failed at paragraph writing Imagine if a villains made zane want to hurt others genuinely instead of protect others that would be lit
Hi Corbyin! I've been enjoying your videos over the past few days, and this most recent video is no exception! However, I have but one little gripe. The event where Cole was hypnotized by Skales was referenced in season 2, episode 12 at around 6:16!
5:08 actually Kai was possessed for a bit by Chen’s staff and he tried using it to kill Lloyd and Skylor. But thankfully he stopped when the ninjas including the other eliminated contestants arrives just in time in a vehicle
YES!!! I’ve always had a problem with how chill the characters are about these terrible things that have happened to them. And by the way, yes, Zane definitely should have panicked a little bit at the sight of Echo. Echo in general NEEDS to be addressed at SOME POINT! (And I'm not gonna bring up the scrapped Mr. E idea, that doesn't count.)
I feel like Cole's fall on Prime Empire is more of one of the Lava moments that started appearing around the second half of ninjago. Like to show at what length Kai would go to prevent it again even if it meant to sacrifice his own life. Also I think they did try to explore more about the trauma for Zane as the ice emperor on the book that got released after the season before dragons rising. They want to explore more mature ideas on the books but I dont know how far will they go with books cause not that many people enjoy reading
i hate it how Crystalized, just mentions Nya's death for like 3-4 episodes and then it's like nothing ever happened to Nya (after she was revived). I felt like it was a bit rushed (espically Nya's personality in this season because it literally goes against everything Nya has said and done). Plus we get so many fake out deaths for no internal reason (you eventually just get used to it). (this is my personal opinion, i just despise crystalized so much). We also need to see a video fo you complain about why crystalized is bad (i love to see videos like this)
In my eyes, ninjago is the kind of show that establishes something, then completely forgets about it and throw it away later on. Or at least temporarily. Think of skylor for an example. On Season 9, when mystake was fighting garmadon, skylor could’ve literally used The elemental of speed to touch him, take mystake, run away within a flash. LIKE SERIOUSLY- but she was somehow beaten up by none other than harumi, the weakest son of garmadon. There are a lot of other examples. Maybe because it’s a seasonal show? And about the trauma thing, Maybe because it’s meant for kids and they don’t want to touch on trauma? Either way, they just straight up trash everything that was established just for the plot or for the upcoming season.
"In my eyes, ninjago is the kind of show that establishes something, then completely forgets about it and throw it away later on" "they just straight up trash everything that was established just for the plot or for the upcoming season" Bullshit.
You know it’s like that either LEGO or the show wants to bring back Ninjago back to the status quo. Like they’re afraid to change one bit, then might result the LEGO product to not sell well or something
I feel like with Zane being the ice emperor, he’s less effected by it because it was more a split personality and it wasn’t him doing it mentally, and as a robot he probably could just get over it with a switch or something to
Fantastic job, this is a very good video and you make very good points. I really enjoyed crystallized for what it was but I do understand why a lot of people didn’t like it as much, it was a bit funky. So I plan on making a video of my own about an alternate route crystallized could have taken to make it feel fulfilling. I will turn that seasons mistakes into strengths, and I will use information you’ve given in this video as well, so thank you. My video is going to take a while, I have a lot of drawing to do.
Okay yeah, this has been something I’ve thought before like, they barely touch on the Ninjas mental health or processing all these life shattering events so I’m glad you brought it up. HOWEVER, if you read the two novels made by Tommy Andreasen, Way of the Departed and Splinter in the Blind Man’s Eye, they actually DO address their trauma especially with Cole and Lloyd. Is that an excuse for the show? No not at all, but it does a good job and delving into them processing events and especially Lloyd with everything he’s gone through. So I’d recommend if you haven’t read
Okay so not really related to the whole topic but... Am I the only one just a teeny bit bitter that the ICE chapters with ZANE as a central character doesnt give PIXAL anything to do. Everyone could have found the Emperor, deduced that it was Zane and snapped him out of it, but they went with Lloyd? My girl Pix should have taken Lloyd's place.
I felt that the whole era of Wildbrain was taken mostly of Lloyd being the focus (with the exception of Master of the Mountains and Seabound). Honestly, the show isn’t supposed to revolve only around him, the others are also part of the show as well!
I agree with Crystalized, it handled grief well, but it brushed over a bunch of stuff, I would’ve liked the original version it would’ve ended. Where Lloyd was absolutely corrupted by the Oni side, destroying the Overlord entirely and taking his place (though Garmadon did actually die.) Nya hadn’t came back in the early episodes, but specifically the last episode, then her and Lloyd would have a 1v1. I do think Lloyd being completely destroyed and taken over by the Oni side would’ve been a better way to show his bottled anger and other negative emotions, like you just watched your dad die for like what? The 4th time? So yeah, I would’ve been extremely upset to the point that I would lose control. It also would’ve been nice to see Nya 1v1 Lloyd, she’s still the Ocean but it would’ve been great to see the fight. She has her memories back, but her found little brother is destroying the city she sacrificed to protect, so seeing a heartfelt/bittersweet 1v1 would’ve been amazing.
4:33 SAME. The midoff joke had me cackling. It's so true. I like pixane much more now tho. Between quitting ninjago cuz of season 3 and absolutely hating season 6 as kids for very similar reasons, we have a lot in common lol
That is not true they do lightly implie traumatic issues and Lloyd has symptoms of ptsd. I know this isn't canon, but in way of the departed and the splinter in the blind man's eye both show examples of Cole and Lloyd going through ptsd. Lloyd literally mentioned in splinter in the blind man's eye that he has felt terrible through Morro's possession and feels anxious about the high mountain winds.
It’s based on the interpretations of what people believe that it is or is not canon. It’s hard to tell (in my view) if either of the stories are canon or not
Ive heard abt Ice Emperor the tiniest bit from a fren She gave me bit of exposition, we brainstormed a bit and I thought its gonna be so amazing Then I actually watched the Lloyd vs Zane thingy n realised just how bad they handled Zane regaining his memories I think I moved to the anger stage of my mini grief journey, bc I got fueled enough to make a redesign, few tiny doodles abt what should have happened n actually wrote down the rewrite me n the fren did Its tempting to do this to the entire show tbh Also Kai n Nya were left alone when Kai was like what, 7? N he had to take care of her 4 all that time somehow?? And all we get 4 his character is 'hot headed idiot'???? I call So much bs on the whole show Can we have a fandom brainstorm n rewrite it on Idk an ao3 acc? Like the rottmnt reanimated project -
It was confirmed Kai was 5 and Nya was 3, so no, they were even younger. I'd definitely be up for an accurate representation of a young carer but no, they keep making him more and more incompetent.
@@redrangerrr558 that makes it so much worse I'm actually gonna cry, these two are so not ok why would canon bastardize them so much What did the Smith siblings do??? (I have moved to the depression part of my grieving process I think)
Zane really needs a freak out scene about losing P.I.X.A.L in Dragons Rising. Also I agree with you on the ice emperor thing, but there is a book were Zane faces the Ice Emperor in his subconscious. It’s call the lost story’s I think.
THIS VIDEO IS SO REALLLL😭😭😭 LIKE GODAMN THEY NEVER EVEN REMMEBER SLL THE TRAUMA THAT HAPPENED TO THEM😭 AND SKYBOUND EVERYTHING WAS LITTERALY JUST RESET, I LIKE 100% AGREE W U, I DO LIKE ALL THE SEASONS THOUGH, BUT THERE WAS MANY FAULTS IN CHARACTER😢😢
I honestly don’t get why skybound is hated? I l honestly love it mostly because of jaya, but why is it hated that much? Someone care to explain? The thing for trauma for characters in my eyes, is how they feel, and how it changes their decisions. Trauma changes perspective of someone, changes how their mind works, because they wont through a specific experience they can’t forget about. But that doesn’t happen with the ninja.
I think there are multiple problems (even though it's my 2nd favourite season) - Jay gets a lot of trauma and depth and development that doesn't get mentioned in the later seasons at all, and pretty much only jaya is referenced - Nadahkaan was an extremely good and intelligent villain and was also traumatized by his family's death, but then instead of using that part of his character as a further motivation and instead of getting mentioned more one of his main motivations becomes marrying a child that looks like his ex gf or something. It was sort of annoying -:a lot of people dislike the ending because it erases all the events that happen in the season, and although Jay and Nya remember everything they still don't seem that affected by it But besides that i can't find other reasons. I feel like the season was very good by itself and i don't really understand why so many people hate it either. It has it's flaws but i don't think it'd horrible at all, though that may be bias because my favourite character is Jay
I didn't like it because it felt like a fever dream. I can't really explain why I disliked it in any more detail, because, like a fever dream, my brain has forgotten many of the events and details.
Something I want to point out that you forgot to say (solid vid btw, I agree with alot of your points) I think in tournament of elements, Lloyd would also get some trauma since his father sacraficed himself to end the fake anacondrai war to banish himself. And not to mention, he had to see his father one last time before the cursed realm being destroyed and his father dying too. Overrall I agree with a lot of your points, something I do with my oc is give some traits that happened to her that she got from previous seasons and Ninjago doesn't do much to its characters (Except their golden boy and Ik its ironic that I pointed out something relating to him but it makes sense.) and it annoys me.
I think there are definitely things that the writers would like to do but are constrained by the ratings of the show and their targeted audience (which are mostly elementary schoolers). Tommy Andreason did write his own "fanfiction" of a much grittier Ninjago called Way of the Departed with Cole as his star. Unfortunately, due to their TV rating and need to push for toy sales, character resetting is going to happen. Lessons having to be relearned, the ninja being in vague ages despite them taking on adult professions, etc... are all made to entertain kids. It's just something to be expected from a children show like this, but I agree that there are many shows that tackle writing in a better way. Hopefully Dragons Rising will be up to the task.
(Hope this doesn’t sound like a commercial but) this problem infuriated me so much I wrote a oneshot about how the trauma of The Ice emperor affected Zane. Putting him back in the never realm to try and find Jay and Cole during dragons rising. He would be scared of himself, making himself smaller and isolating himself once they got to the village, even to the point that once a rouge dragon from another realm starts attacking the Formlingen village he hesitates to freeze, almost getting Sora and Riyu hurt. While I don’t want the exact thing to happen or to have happened in the og series, just like acknowledge it, yk?
i love echo but sometimes i get so mad because why did the writers make him fuck up Dr Juliens character and then just never do anything about it. like Echo has no other purpouse in the whole season than to be silly, fight and destroy a character that has been dead since season 2
Don't worry ur not the only one who didn't like Crystalized for me it had many opurtunities to be great but they kinda fall flat either as show progress or durring the finally like...whole dragon form or rather how they got it was bull*shit sorry for swearing 0-0 it litterly has NO sense 0-0 they eresed elemental dragons bc "they were too OP" ...but then they give us this and still plan to continue the series 0-0 Are they also goona just erase it bc it's too op? ^^ Great Just Great ! I honestly thought when I saw the trailer that it would be about Lloyd becoming an antagonist maybe , and Overlord's return was...bit forced but I can forgive that, what Does bother me is ...Why couldn't we explore Where he got that crystal power why does he have it he never did before it would be interesting to explore :/... I was also kinda excited when Overlord mentioned making Ninja evil, like imagin that they Did defeat overlord but he did menege to make some ninja evil ! Like Kai, Jay and Cole and idk make new 3 seasons about what type of villain would each ninja be~ And I don't mean Joke villains i mean Atcuall threats. We kinda explored Kai's dark side before it would be cool to see it all out, in some "fire empire" that he build +,+ each could represent different type of villan ~ And Nya ( who is still working on bringing her powers back), Lloyd, Zane ( since he alredy got to be the villan once) and Wu would have to stop them, maybe even Skylor bc I do think like she is super underdeveloped as character and so is her realtionship with Kai so like this could potentially be great oportunity ! They would have to fight they're familly and bring them back to normal ~ BUT no instead we got some overpowerd dragon form and a fancy golden dragon I guess
While I was watching this video I realized probably why Mr. E is not Echo Zane, because Echo Zane was found by the ninjas when the pirates we're around and Jay didn't mention him in his wish.
I was about to go on a rant on why Lloyd’s character in crystalized COULD somehow make sense, but crystalized isn’t worth my time so I’ll do something like that later.
An exellcent addition suggested in the fanfic Grass is Always Greener by Sunnylighter, after the events of “The Green Ninja” Lloyd is uncomfortable around volcanos after nearly dying in one.
Hey, this is SUPER off topic lol, but I want to get into making a few Ninjago videos of my own. Where do you get the clips and such from the episodes themselves and what do you use to edit? This video is great by the way, very nice discussion :)
I use the Ninjago Media Project google drive for the episodes! (Except for Crystalized. Got those from RUclips.) As for editing, I use Sony Vegas. Don't buy it, waste of money. Just 🏴☠️
Skybound was so full of missed potential, it is downright infuriating.
Dagnab. Skybound is my favorite season. 😅
Oh well. Different opinions and whatnot.
Skybounds Goated change my mind
A much better ending to this could’ve been:
Jay rewound time, brining them back to the moment when Nya could’ve held his hand. But, instead of brushing everything off, a terrified look fills his eyes, and he starts panicking. To still get that Jaya moment, Nya used her airjitzu and flew up to Jay, hugging him tight and comforting him. A tear runs down their faces and they just sit there. The other ninja are confused, but worried, and go to comfort their friends.
still goated ngl

I'm surprised Zane didn't feel any trauma, since he's a robot, he probably has thousands of 'recordings' of the sins he's done.
He's also programmed to obey the law and just be generally good so i feel like him failing in what he was programmed for would affect him
It's mentioned once after Crystalized, I feel like the writers realized that Zane shouldn't like being the Ice Emperor
Indeed.💯
This is wonderful!! And SUCH an important topic. Lloyd literally having to give up his childhood both physically and mentally to stop his FATHER is something I will never get over. The poor kid is, well, a KID trapped in an older body. It’s so painful and I wish they talked about that extreme trauma in-depth!! 😭
There is a could-be-canon novel called “The Splinter in the Blind mans eye” that writes about Lloyds trauma pretty well
My entire point with this video is i want the trauma highlighted in the actual source material-the show.
@@Corbyin yeah I get that, just wanted to mention that :)

Thanks do Dragons Rising we got Kai talking about his trauma about Nya turning into the ocean with Wyldfire is a way better thing than whateaver trauma was handled last seasons
Fr
I still think from tournament of elements the Kai being corrupted by the staff thing should have had lasting effects. Either Lloyd realizing some of Kai’s issues from it or Kai being slightly worried that he could slip back into it. Would have been nice to have some minor mentions especially since Possession would’ve been a great place to portray that as the next season and the whole thing in that season was Morro controlling Lloyd. Still fine without it, but it could have been interesting
THIS is a big reason why i migrated to monkie kid. in monkie kid, mk actually struggles with events that happened last seasons. hes still scarred from his fight with the lady bone demon and went through a lot of character growth throughout the show. and its not just mk either, all the other characters are shown to have trauma from old events and the show portrays their struggles very well for a kids lego show
And that’s why I started to grow on liking and acknowledging Monkie Kid! Many bits of it I appreciate it!
This is an absolutely banger idea hell yea
they replace the trauma with a new trauma or dilemma after it such as with the death and resurrections in the show
I really wished they would have spent more time on Zane remembering whp he is in the element turnament season.
This problem kinda undermines on their whole "unbeatable friendship" the creators are trying to sell
If Lloyd in s11 prefers to vent to randoms instead of to his friends, it means he is not that comfortable with them
Yeah it does have a lot of flaws sometimes but still is good.
They definitely should've showed how Kai feels. I love jay but man they can't do the other characters wrong because of that
My guess was that the writers behind the show from that time didn’t experience any grief of losing a loved one in the family. Don’t know, it’s my guess 🫤
Don’t forget that Kai also drowned during the papergirl episode in Seabound
I always like to think about this in a sense of "going through this crazy bs on a regular basis has completely desensitized them from being traumatized to most of these events"
I will say that lloyd does show to have trauma in relation to trusting people ever since the sons of garmadon
I guess? But to me it seems like an excuse for poor writing

All of them should have had their trauma discussed or dealt with. Like, they have all been through literal hell.
(This is going to be a bit of a rant)
I feel like Lloyd, Kai, Jay, and Cole should all have had some form of negative reaction to water.
Lol yeah I’d love to hear some Crystalized opinions because everyone has such wildly different takes

Ice Realm Hitler lmao (I’m sorry but that name had me laughing I have no idea why)
So Ninjago writes a lot of singular seasons very good individually but fails to connect multiple seasons and how they're affected by it afterwards
Lloyd in master of the mountain is well cautious of the princess because ya know harumi
Nothing like seeing Lloyd still beliving there is good in Harumi and still carign about her even after she "killed" all his friends-familly without batting an eye ! TRULLY GREAT MESSEGE !

i mean some victims still love their abuser
Maybe because of the way they learned to love?
So they don't know what true love is
I mean Lloyds father was evil before (and I'm not sure about the much earlier seasons please don't spoil it for me) and Lloyd looked up to him during ROTS and you could still tell while Lloyd had to fight him he still cares about him and Garmadon showed care for him too WHILE fighting him
And his mom abandoned him and then suddenly came back and made up excuses for it and Lloyd forgives her
I just feel like Lloyd has the wrong idea about what love is
Because his parents in the much earlier seasons did some pretty bad stuff to him and others but still told him they loved him
So maybe he thinks that even though people try to kill him ahd others he loves he thinks they're still s good person/he still loves them because of past experiences
But that's just a theory
@@insertunoroginalnamehere6189 It's a nice theory and It would fit but the problem is that he sees that in Harumi who hasn't shown any signs of kidness tword hima nd did awfull things

but besides that..Lloyd alredy has his true familly and these are ninjas..the ones who Harumi " killed" right in front of him + mocking him about it TwT
@@Angela-ur5yf yeah i really hope Lloyd and Harumi don't get together even if he forgives her because i feel like it would demonstrate a very toxic message of forgiving extremely abusive people even after all the damage they did to your mental health

"because i feel like it would demonstrate a very toxic message of forgiving extremely abusive people even after all the damage they did to your mental health"
Well it COULD work as long as it gets some proper moments and development.
Like Amity.
@@dylansharp8471 yeah but amity didnt try to kill Luz 3 times
Yeah this is basically like TMNT 2012 or Voltron: Legendary Defenders. Where the shows don’t flesh out more on the trauma that happened to their characters {for example: Donnie getting beeping turned into atoms in the season 4 episode, The Power Inside Of Her. And another example is when Lance dies during the first episode of season 6}
I don’t get his Zane just pulls off his mask and acts like he didn’t terrorize a entire realm for decades 💀
He should’ve been the one who’ve stayed back the longest and said that he was super sorry and that he knows they might not forgive him but he is sorry a
Then leaves.
And I’ll give the show one thing when jay was scared on the island he was scared because of the memory of skybounds tiger widow spider chase idk but it might be the same bridge
It’s fixed because they went back in time
Another thing if rom s3: Kai was literally almost cooked alive after being kidnapped. And its NEVER brought up at ALL
Also personally I love season 6 but yes season 7 is bad and your opinions are yoir opinions
If you’ve read the Quest for the Lost Powers ninjago book that just came out, it actually addresses Zane’s trauma from being the Ice Emperor! While it would have been a lot better to do this during the show, they at least address this somewhere.
That book literally came out after I made this video mate
@@Corbyin I know that; I was just letting other people know that some of what you talked about in this video actually DOES get addressed by Ninjago’s creators.
I just happened to remember this video as I was reading the book and decided to leave a comment. Sorry for the confusion.
@@katiek2025 ah, you're good lad. My mistake
Bullshit.
@@kwayneboy1524but they already show dark moments they just don't mention it again and make new dark moments
@@insertunoroginalnamehere6189 But if they showed realistic reactions to the ninjas' trauma, it could get too dark.
For example, (TRIGGER WARNING)
I strongly suspect that Lloyd could have been suicidal at the beginning of Hunted.
Then eventually learns to accept himself for who he is
We need an episode thats just a therapy session for these guys 💀🙏
I think zane is "abused" so much is kind resonable, he is a robot with alot of value and he can be manipulate and used in ways you can't use other humans, I think they should give zane a ark where he decides it will be better is he wasn't a robot he may think it is to risky for him to be on field so shit like the mechanic used him to open up a portal don't happen lol
Like he pretty much has this infinite power source in side him if he gose down the villains can just snack him and make him evil like ice empire lol
Villains can steal his power source and do shit idk I failed at paragraph writing
Imagine if a villains made zane want to hurt others genuinely instead of protect others that would be lit
Hi Corbyin! I've been enjoying your videos over the past few days, and this most recent video is no exception! However, I have but one little gripe. The event where Cole was hypnotized by Skales was referenced in season 2, episode 12 at around 6:16!
You're very right! I just more meant the ninja referencing it, haha.
I’m realizing I kinda blocked out the ice chapter of Forbidden Spinjitzu because I hate what it did to Zane.
5:08 actually Kai was possessed for a bit by Chen’s staff and he tried using it to kill Lloyd and Skylor. But thankfully he stopped when the ninjas including the other eliminated contestants arrives just in time in a vehicle
Actually uh Zane did deal with trauma about ice Emperor during one of the canon books
Lloyd doesn’t remember being aged up
My whole point for the video is I wanted the SHOW to address it. Not some books.
@@Corbyin me too.💯
They want to explore more mature ideas on the books but I dont know how far will they go with books cause not that many people enjoy reading
ok, but like did lego wach this video cause DR season 2 PRACTICALLY EXIST TO ADDRESS THIS!
Real!!!
i hate it how Crystalized, just mentions Nya's death for like 3-4 episodes and then it's like nothing ever happened to Nya (after she was revived).
"In my eyes, ninjago is the kind of show that establishes something, then completely forgets about it and throw it away later on" "they just straight up trash everything that was established just for the plot or for the upcoming season"
Bullshit.
You know it’s like that either LEGO or the show wants to bring back Ninjago back to the status quo. Like they’re afraid to change one bit, then might result the LEGO product to not sell well or something
You can’t possibly get yelled at for disliking Crystalized because literally no one likes it but me
I feel like with Zane being the ice emperor, he’s less effected by it because it was more a split personality and it wasn’t him doing it mentally, and as a robot he probably could just get over it with a switch or something to
Fantastic job, this is a very good video and you make very good points.
I HAVENT WATCHED YET BUT YEAHHHHH NEW CORBYIN VÍDEO ITS GONNA BE A BANGER
Okay yeah, this has been something I’ve thought before like, they barely touch on the Ninjas mental health or processing all these life shattering events so I’m glad you brought it up. HOWEVER, if you read the two novels made by Tommy Andreasen, Way of the Departed and Splinter in the Blind Man’s Eye, they actually DO address their trauma especially with Cole and Lloyd.
Is that an excuse for the show? No not at all, but it does a good job and delving into them processing events and especially Lloyd with everything he’s gone through. So I’d recommend if you haven’t read
@@octaviogalicia8179 I really should read those. Wish they were canon to the story, though! Maybe that's why I haven't gotten around to it.
@@Corbyin canon or not, they are a very fun read and make our ninja more fleshed out characters. Just be prepared to be left on a cliffhanger
It's kind of funny that everyone just forgot that Cole was a ghost for 2 years
That is not true they do lightly implie traumatic issues and Lloyd has symptoms of ptsd.
Key words are *isn't canon*.
It’s based on the interpretations of what people believe that it is or is not canon. It’s hard to tell (in my view) if either of the stories are canon or not
Ive heard abt Ice Emperor the tiniest bit from a fren
She gave me bit of exposition, we brainstormed a bit and I thought its gonna be so amazing
Then I actually watched the Lloyd vs Zane thingy n realised just how bad they handled Zane regaining his memories
I think I moved to the anger stage of my mini grief journey, bc I got fueled enough to make a redesign, few tiny doodles abt what should have happened n actually wrote down the rewrite me n the fren did
Its tempting to do this to the entire show tbh
Also
Kai n Nya were left alone when Kai was like what, 7? N he had to take care of her 4 all that time somehow?? And all we get 4 his character is 'hot headed idiot'????
I call
So much bs on the whole show
Can we have a fandom brainstorm n rewrite it on Idk an ao3 acc? Like the rottmnt reanimated project -
It was confirmed Kai was 5 and Nya was 3, so no, they were even younger. I'd definitely be up for an accurate representation of a young carer but no, they keep making him more and more incompetent.
@@redrangerrr558 that makes it so much worse
I'm actually gonna cry, these two are so not ok why would canon bastardize them so much
What did the Smith siblings do???
I like that jay developed a fear of bridges after yk .
I think there are multiple problems (even though it's my 2nd favourite season)
- Jay gets a lot of trauma and depth and development that doesn't get mentioned in the later seasons at all, and pretty much only jaya is referenced
- Nadahkaan was an extremely good and intelligent villain and was also traumatized by his family's death, but then instead of using that part of his character as a further motivation and instead of getting mentioned more one of his main motivations becomes marrying a child that looks like his ex gf or something. It was sort of annoying
-:a lot of people dislike the ending because it erases all the events that happen in the season, and although Jay and Nya remember everything they still don't seem that affected by it
But besides that i can't find other reasons. I feel like the season was very good by itself and i don't really understand why so many people hate it either. It has it's flaws but i don't think it'd horrible at all, though that may be bias because my favourite character is Jay
The ending ruins it. It's pretty much giving you the middle finger for caring about what happened
I didn't like it because it felt like a fever dream. I can't really explain why I disliked it in any more detail, because, like a fever dream, my brain has forgotten many of the events and details.
Something I want to point out that you forgot to say (solid vid btw, I agree with alot of your points)
I think in tournament of elements, Lloyd would also get some trauma since his father sacraficed himself to end the fake anacondrai war to banish himself.
The fan made story, “Forgive Me”, which features in “The New Ninja” addresses this.
While I don’t want the exact thing to happen or to have happened in the og series, just like acknowledge it, yk?
one thing you missed out that was a major plot change was the sudden fact that Kai is scared of/hated water
i love echo but sometimes i get so mad because why did the writers make him fuck up Dr Juliens character and then just never do anything about it. like Echo has no other purpouse in the whole season than to be silly, fight and destroy a character that has been dead since season 2
There's always fanfiction
... oh no. And i going to write fanfic for Ninjago again??? XD
also I agree- Zane is so sweet and kind and amazing and genuinely funny at times... if only they could do him justice
DEWIT- ✨🔥
Skybound is a good season (especially for jay because angst) and y'all can fite me on it
based
Don't worry ur not the only one who didn't like Crystalized for me it had many opurtunities to be great but they kinda fall flat either as show progress or durring the finally like...whole dragon form or rather how they got it was bull*shit sorry for swearing 0-0 it litterly has NO sense 0-0 they eresed elemental dragons bc "they were too OP" ...but then they give us this and still plan to continue the series 0-0
Are they also goona just erase it bc it's too op?
We kinda explored Kai's dark side before it would be cool to see it all out, in some "fire empire" that he build +,+
each could represent different type of villan ~
And Nya ( who is still working on bringing her powers back), Lloyd, Zane ( since he alredy got to be the villan once) and Wu would have to stop them, maybe even Skylor bc I do think like she is super underdeveloped as character and so is her realtionship with Kai so like this could potentially be great oportunity ! They would have to fight they're familly and bring them back to normal ~
BUT no instead we got some overpowerd dragon form and a fancy golden dragon I guess
Man these first two ninjago videos you have done are fantastic
Keep it up,you have earned a sub
I like to think Jay is incredible at masking his trauma
Yay more ninjago!
An exellcent addition suggested in the fanfic Grass is Always Greener by Sunnylighter, after the events of “The Green Ninja” Lloyd is uncomfortable around volcanos after nearly dying in one.
They actually did bring up Lloyd's Trauma from his dad to possession in splinter in the blind man's eye
Just 🏴☠️
Does TannerFishies know about this? He needs to see this!
I don't really care what Tanner thinks lmao
I can't trust him after him saying he hates dareth 😔
When it comes to reasonably traumatic experiences in a Lego show leaving an impact on the characters, Monkie Kid is actually better in this regard
I see ninjago, I click
Also this video was awesome
