I would say Rajah is a similar case. They didn't really care for her in S11 to the point that they made her lipsync four times but during AS6 she gets one of the best redemption arcs ever! Everything that she just needed was the crown and that's what she got during canvtw, and we were ALL happy tbh.
I love that the moment Jimbo was on on a season hosted by rupaul she was respected for the talent that she brings like CDR judges truly gave no fucks at disrespecting her so I’m glad she finally won a season where she is respected.
Boa being in the top for that outfit is one of the most ridiculous decisions in DR history. Not even Jeorgeous's win can top that as far as I'm concerned
I think Kandy already knew that she wasn’t going to win. She kinda solidified herself as one of the villains of the season so she wouldn’t have the fan reception to get the crown. Kandy had to choose who she wanted to win basically so of course she picked her one of her bestfriends over Jessica wild
I would never plan on rewatching AS8 as that season was so bad, but Jimbo was definitely iconic throughout and deserved her crown. A top 2 of Jimbo and Jessica would have been so much better also imo.

I think Kandy brought Jimbo to the finale because she knew she could out-dance Jimbo in the finale. If it was down to just the finale I definitely think Kandy had a better chance of winning against Jimbo vs if she brought Jessica Wild. The alliance and fan response probably played a part in the decision but overall I think Kandy’s best move to win was to go against Jimbo

Kandy did have incentive to save Jimbo other than the alliance. It was very likely that the final two would come down to a lip sync. Who would you rather lip sync against, the queen who was a lip-sync assassin on a previous season or the queen who lost 6 lip syncs in a row?
I don’t think it’s fair saying Jimbo is a bad performer. They are a bad lipsyncer comparatively but there are other types of performance. Talent show, snatch game, etc

And saving cheryl would have been completely fair since jujubee competed for the fourth time and had worse looks. So i can get behind jimbos decision who to send home.

Jimbo was very fun to watch on AS8. However, also very juxtaposing in my opinion. I'd have personally given the wins for RDR Live to Jessica, and the TV Pilots Acting Challenge to Heidi. With some exceptions (Grace Jones and Snow Bunny), she is the second strongest queen on the runway behind Kahanna. Her Snatch Game was MAGNIFICENT. The tap dancing broke me in the best way possible. I would have put her in the bottom 2 for the Rusical with Kahanna. Her Design Challenge look was fucking brilliant, and oh my GOD, the Roast. Funniest shit I've seen in my life. And honestly, I'd have given the Makover win to Jessica, even though Kandy's was great as well, and it hurt seeing Jessica go home that episode. Even though she wasn't competing in the Fame Games Variety Extravaganza, it was a beautiful performance. And while I personally believe Kandy's final performance (and song) were a tiny bit better, they both fought for their damn lives in that final lip-sync and it was pretty even all around. It was great to see her finally get the crown. At the end of the day, to quote Mistress Isabella Brooks as Rosie O' Donnell, "I like the big knockers!".

Subsequently, the fanbase tried to undermine each of his wins except maybe snatch game. I believe all of his wins were deserved and he could have even won the design challenge. If you really want to blame the show, blame them for uneven casting and not giving him any real competition except maybe Heidi and Jessica*. *I think Jessica surprised the showrunners with how well she did.

I don't think it was strategy first that is the reason why jimbo was eliminated on UKvsTW1, she did the worst in the challenge and was up against someone who arguably shouldnt have been in the bottom (baga should have been). Pangina seemed to wanting to go off of what the judges were saying/their critiques (pangina has said she didnt see the other performances), so picked jimbo as the judges thought she did the worst in the challenge, furthermore juju is Panginas friend. So i think the fact that Jimbo did the worst of the week and Juju was Panginas friend were the main reason she was sent home, rather than competition strategy reasons
Canada S1 judging was WILD and all over the place. The season and cast was amazing, but the judging was so wrong like 75%+ of the time. The Rita Baga favoritsm is so confusing. She did not do well. Jimbo and Lemon deserved so much more however, it did work in her favor overall. She got shafted in ukvw as well, but by the time as8 came out, Ru already LOVED her.
I always think production gets too much credit on their influence. Sometimes there is no manipulation and things just happen. Love Jimbo and everything she stands for. I’m now glad her UK vs the world elimination was not the end and we got to see her destroy the competition in All Stars 8

I agree with others saying it kind of mirrors Rajah. Rajah was their sacrificial lamb in sesson 11. She was a strong lipsyncer and they threw her in the bottom whenever they needed her to send someone home- often when she didnt deserve a bottom placement. Rajah also should have won all stars 6 in my opinion, but was overlooked by production
