When we moved anything on hangers we just got garbage bags and put them over the clothes in big groups with the hangers on and tied them at the bottom and just hang them back up at the new place. No need to remove hangers or ruin clothes loved it.

for anyone moving in the future with hanging clothes put a garbage bag with hole in it over the top leave clothes hanging you can get about 10 pieces per bag and then they just hang straight up into cupboard at new place and don't get dirty

My wardrobe was organised so to make it really easy for myself I took a chunk of each section (about 8 items) tied the neck of the hangers with a plastic bag to keep that bunch together and then put all the clothes in a duvet case. Just carried it like a big bundle, kept the clothes clean (duvet case got filthy so would recommend using an old one) and unpacked them in less than 10 mins in my new house back into the order I had before!

I have learned through moving house several times in my 50 years of life....never never ever leave it til the last minute. Moving is one of the most stressful things you do in life...and waiting to pack until the last moment is piling on the stress of an already stressful situation. Looking forward to the move in videos.

Little word of advice, sometimes, even with the gentlest of tape, taping your drawers shut can take the laminate off the furniture when you remove it. Cling film wrap vertically from the top to the bottom of the unit and wrap it around a few times, it'll do the same thing with no damage

My absolute top tip for moving house is don't buy stuff to wrap your breakables. You're gonna be packing tea towels, towels and blankets anyway so just wrap your fragile stuff in other stuff you need to pack. (I know its too late for you now Jazzy but for anyone else!)

I feel your pain. We’re a military family and move every 3-4 years. Moving is expensive, and always done last minute, and half the time you end up buying or renting a place without seeing it in person first. Stressful is an understatement.

jazz, those boxes are tteeeny tiny! you dont have near as much stuff as you think! our moving boxes were about 24" (61cm)square the wardrobe boxes were 48" square(121.92 cm)

Don't know if you hace the budget for it. But rent a storageunit for all the youtube/filming "stuff". Like the ice machine. Put everything in there and when you got ideas for videos go "shopping" in the unit.

I feel every emotion with you. The last time we moved, I literally packed room by room and had all the boxes sitting in the front room for the moving van. We had 4 days from the time we were informed that the owners had sold out, and the new owners refused to allow us extra time to move. We had been there 6 years, and to this day (6 yrs later), I have stuff still in storage.

I know this sound strange but if you use the ring pull from a can of drink you can double hang your tops which makes more room for other clothes so they don’t crease, so like if you have a lot of vest tops hang 2/3 together xx

Just a tip for your next moving adventure. You can leave all your clothes on the hangers. Take a garbage bag. In the bottom of the bag rip a smallish hole. Then put the bag over the clothes with the hangers and put the hangers through the hole. It keeps all your clothes together and you don't have to pack and unpack them in boxes and then have to put them back on hangers. I've moved many, many times and this is such a lifesaver timewise.

I understand the sensibleness of decluttering before moving, but on this time scale I’d be throwing the whole lot in bags to go in the van, and sort it out the other end. It took me six months to sort out before I moved last time, and when I got to the other end I was still getting rid of stuff. It taught me I’m not good at predicting the future. Next time I don’t think I’ll worry about it so much, until I live in the new place it’s only guessing any way.

moving is soo stressful, I packed for three months pretty much and I had to get rid of so much as I was downsizing, I did a dump run every week sometimes twice, I had a skip, and two council collections, and a man with a van to get rid of stuff I had hoarded or my late mum. Boxes I got off Facebook where people were giving them away for free thankfully I never had to actually buy a box, and I then followed suit and put them back on Facebook for free.💜

Brilliant vlogs these. For anyone in the comments who might move at some point…we’ve done it several times. Initially we did it exactly like Jaz and Nick are. Ourselves. With a van. Last time however due to Covid rules we couldn’t really do that as we only got a couple of days notice so we had hired a local removals firm. Big van but local not national. And we paid for their packing service. Best thing we ever did. Their team arrived 9am the day before the move and by 2pm our 4 bedroom house was completely packed up. They even loaded a lot of it onto the van. We had done some packing before them like the emergency box and our work stuff etc but they did the rest. Amazing. Then moving day the removals team arrive with the van and are loaded up by 10am leaving us to clean empty rooms. Way less stress. Way less unpleasant. Two days before we moved our whole house was still totally functional so no staggered move and having to leave emergency stuff etc. seriously consider it for anyone moving. Find local firms as they are cheaper and better than the big national removals firms.

Moving in general is always stressful. I remember one time when my mother and I moved. We did it within a very short period of time during the winter when it was raining. We also had to take down our christmas tree on christmas day because we needed to be out by the end of the month to avoid paying another months rent. I know that anytime that my mother and i have moved we always said where did all this stuff come from and we questioned how we got so much stuff. We usually had to downsize and donate a lot of stuff because sometimes when we moved we moved to a place with less storage than the last. I do have to say though that i am impressed with your organized packing skills despite the time crunch. I also remember when packing finding things that I didn't know I had or had forgotten about.

Jazz, seriously don't stress over how much stuff you have, I personally don't think you have that much lol. It would probably take a moving van full just to take my bedroom contents alone, let alone any other room. 😅🤣
It's just because you're in a rush that it seems more X once you're in your new place and can take your time to unpack, you'll probably realise it wasn't quite as much as you thought ❤

Just finished moving … my heart goes out to you ❤🥹 … the best clothes packing hack is to spread a bed sheet on the floor or the bed then put all the clothes in their hangers nicely on top of the sheet then tie the opposite corners tightly so when you get to the new house just untie the sheet and hang them … my whole clothes took like 10 minutes to hang all of them in the new wardrobe! for chest of drawers definitely take the full drawers out wrap them with cling film or tape them and move the body without disassembling it… hope it goes well for you and congratulations on the new house 🌸🌺

I move people for a living and know the best way is to do a bit each day and have a huge declutter before even starting. Using black rubbish bags
Is best for clothes, linen and toys and they pack in nicely around furniture in the truck

The struggle is real. I just moved 3 weeks ago and couldn´t believe how much stuff I got, In Denmark the boxes are about ½ time bigger so I did not have that many boxes, but on my own packing my life into boxes again after 2 years in the old house and moving 50km to a new house is stressfull and I really don´t hope I have to do it again anytime soon 🥵

@@jazzybvlogs I once moved in one day, I procrastinated so hard I just went to bed the day before moving day. I just packed as I filled up the van, just threw stuff in boxes as my parents carried them out and hubby dismantled the bed, cupboards and desks.
We did it! It was only a flat, but a full moving van nonetheless.
      You can definitely do it!

As someone who has moved alot over the years 😂 I highly recommend popping into your local home bargains and ask for boxes, they’re free and are quite thick. I don’t mind advertising crisps etc on the side when it’s free just for the few days😂❤ . Xxx

Do you have to pay a bond in the uk? For example here in NZ you pay 1 or 2 weeks in advanced so your last couple of weeks are prepaid. And also a bond which can be the equivalent of 2 to 4 weeks that gets returned to you if nothing is needed to be fixed or cleaned on final inspection.
Side note: I always took pictures of the new house before I moved in - if there's any small stain , mark etc so I didn't get charged for anything.

I think from what you're saying, the equivalent here is called a deposit? They take it at the beginning and then if everything looks as good as it did when you moved in, you get it back at the end :)

I've been watching you and Nick on your adventures for years. I'm happy for you two on this one. I know how stressful moving is but, you know what? I think everyone should move once every five years. That way you get rid of all the junk you have accumulated that you really don't need.😂

It's so annoying isn't it!! I have an entire box of "art supplies" that I haven't touched for 4 years, but I can guarantee, that if I get rid of that box, two days later I'll need a glue gun and pipe cleaners! 😂
