I never knew a conversion degree was a thing 😔 It just seems impossible to think about doing this now as I have a job, mortgage, other grown up bills to pay. I would have loved to have done this straight after my undergrad.

Thanks so much for this video! I'm looking to start LLM with LPC next September (no training contract secured though, hoping i get one through the course🤞) And I've been looking for reviews of BPP. Also I stayed to watch your ads all the way through😅😇

Its way more reading than an MA or even PhD, they give an estimated 10hrs for prepare and apply. Its actually more than 30hrs, plus consolidate and revise, as a part time student, I’m spending 40hrs a week and still haven’t gotten to revise yet in that time. Worthy to get a couple textbooks for your first two topics so you can get ahead, time well spent. Oh and books like Letters to a Law Student, Successful Law Student etc are helpful. Am in the first uptake for the pgdl so we are the guinea pigs and there are teething issues. Good luck though!
Yes so the sqe is just two exams. Unlike the lpc which is a year long course the sqe is more flexible but harder becuase you have to do the work your self and u take the two multiple choice exams when U want
@@Phucktoid Just note things may change and nothing set in stone, from my current understanding, No you will not have to do the GDL you can move straight to the sqe exams. however SQE 1 tests candidates knowledge of the English legal system, so it would be very benefiacl to perhaps obtain a course to study different aspects of English Law, SQE 2 is a multiple choice test which asses candidates on their knowledge of drafting legal documents ETC. i have just graduated with a first class degree but even still i probably will get tutoring for these exams becuase its difficult to retain all the knowledge from the degree. I'm planning on doing a degree in Philosophy, Theology and History. I've planned to different courses, so the exact logistics obviously depends on which unis I get offers off. I actually want to end up in law and will therefore have to do a Postgraduate qualifying degree in Law. The University of Birmigham offers a postgraduate in law course that is two years long. It would be £9,250 per year (£18,500 in total). The University of Birmigham has a prestigious reputation and I would be able to get this all on student loan. Do you think it would be worth it though? Hi Ibrahim, What kind of perspective in life you see at this moment?? you finished GDL, not having training contract? As for myself, I'm aiming to commence MA law postgraduate course at University of Law in September 2021. MA law means GDL plus research project, though its name qualifies for postgraduate student loan, which itself saves a lot of headache. Assuming worst case scenario that I won't get training contract, what opportunities can await for a student with GDL (MA) diploma ?? Upon undergraduate level I did business and law degree on Anglia Ruskin, I know this uni is definitely not Cambridge, however I scored upper a2.1, so shouldn't be that bad for a career prospects. Please send me your thoughts. Best, Tom
Thank you for sharing. I am planning to register for PGDL this coming Sep-2021, however, I noticed that learning materials are available online (from what I've seen from the website). Does it mean textbooks are not included in the tuition fee? Looking forward. Thank you.
at hindsight, would you mind share what important edges that you know Uof Law have when compared with BPP? (am planning to take the online program so face-to-face lecture/ campus etc will not be relevant at my case)
Hello, I got offers from Cardiff University, University of Law and BPP University fro GDL in January. I'm a bit confused on which university to go. I would be glad to receive your guidance.
I do not want to pursue law as a career but do want a qualification or an education in law. I want to be able to use my legal education to help my career in geographical policy etc. Do you get any official qualifications just from GDL or do you need to LPC and training contract to get a qualification? Xxx
Can you get a training contract before actually doing the GDL? I have a degree in criminology and criminal justice atm but wanting to go into law to be a solicitor. So do I just apply for training contracts first then the GDL along side? Thanks
you can but it will obviously be more tedious. one because you are competing with others with actual law degrees, two because your background is more on the criminal side of things as opposed to the commercial side of things. BUT it is not impossible, you'll just have to convince them you are worth their while(if you have excellent grades and solid work experience, you'll be fine). Finally, (if you don't have the grades and experience) I'll advise you to wait a little, get on the GDL, smash it, get solid work experience and then apply. hope this helps.
@@kaykay6986 no problem thanks mate. I've decided I'm going to wait till next year and wait for the SQE to come out and do that as it'll have to be done eventually anyway, so makes sense to do it now instead.
