A few folk have asked about the equipment I use to record my videos and how I get the buttery smooth shots - I’d like to say it’s me but alas it’s not me - it’s the equipment.
Below is what I use:
Main Camera: Panasonic HC-VX1 4K: amzn.to/2RHRJAo This never lets you down and produces great wide stunning shots in 4K
Second Camera: GoPro Hero Black 7: amzn.to/2PufdHg This IS THE camera if you have an allotment. It is by far the best and easiest to use - video is stunning!!!
Third Camera: Note 9: amzn.to/2L588MV If I have no camera and need video… this is a great video caperture phone - 4K is stunning.
Main Mic: RØDE VideoMic Pro+ Microphone - Black: amzn.to/2PsuTe2 The quality is unmatched.
Second Mic: Rode Smartlav+ Lavalier Microphone: amzn.to/2L3DBPq Back up if the wind is too great
Indoor Mic: PR 40: amzn.to/2PrZI2F Omph - if you are going into this for real - audio is even more important that video. This mic is a dream sound.
27” iMac: amzn.to/2B1VVE6 I have used Macs all my life - not one has let me down. Rock solid with rock solid software. I use Apple’s Final Cut Pro
Main Tripod: K & F Concept Tripod: amzn.to/2L3HKmw I have tried all so many tripods some way way more expensive. This one is great, lightweight… but opens tall enough to still get me in the shot and I am 6” 4”!
Second Tripod (for GoPro Hero 7) Joby GorillaPod SLR-Zoom: amzn.to/2L5vRMS This is the idea tripod when in allotment as you can stick it anywhere and record great shots
Light: Neewer 176 LED 5600K: amzn.to/2B5Dy0U I use this all the time now great for dull days (we get lots of those).

Decided to go back & watch from the beginning of ur allotment vlogs. Path looked great
Excellent video. My job for today is laying a short path to my new greenhouse, so great information, thank you!
Just found your channel It’s great . Got to say you made laying them slabs look well easy. Good video thanks.
Looks Great Tony! Well done and classy looking to say the least! You might want to think about a more narrow set of raised beds - something that you can reach into the middle of from both sides. Makes things a whole lot easier to manage. But his work looks brilliant!
That's a good point... I think at the most they be four foot wide. See how it goes anyways
First slabs, then you will have a whole hyroponic setup there along with a beehive or three. The last lot of slabs I got was free ones, from the road crew doing renovation. saved them from being smashed up for rubble, and they did sterling work as a path. Now they are doing duty as a gecko hotel, as the whole washline area was paved in brick, but might put them in the garden if I find some free garden furniture again.
Now that's a good idea Sean.... hydroponics!
Enjoyed the video mate i plan on doing the same to my paths this year.
Great job
Tony you need a truck and a couple of young lads for all that heavy labor.
Good work. :)
I thank thee!
This is really informative. I didn't have a clue where to start. Did you use 1 bag of sharp sand per slab??
Probably easier if you did the 5 in 1 mix with a cement mixer (if you have one to hand) to get a better gauge of mix & add some Feb mix in the mix to add that extra bit of strength. Perhaps some pre mixed slurry mix on the underside of each slab before you lay them so it adheres to the mortar mix better 👍
Amazing video, I have one question tho. Could I do a whole patio area out the front of my shed on the allotment like this. I mean with the dry mix as would make life so much easier?
I couldn't see why not itll be hard once its set.
AllotmentBen thank you, I will be hopefully sorting it all out when it’s a little drier here in Bristol.
Did the slabs set?
Yes.... rock solid. Really pleased with how they turned out.
I’ve gone and just put sharp sand no cement I am going to have to start again with what you use which is a handful of cement to half bag of sand Do you use water?
