The Heathrow Air Ambulance is private and does not deal with 999 calls, so I’m not sure why it is running on lights. There are so many private companies running around London on lights and sirens but not actually going to emergency calls, or carrying patients with life threatening issues. Hopefully they won’t kill a pedestrian when they do this because the driver will be responsible.

The way some US emergency vehicles are lit up could, in some circumstances, be counter productive and even dangerous.

22:12 rare to see additional plates mounted around the registration plate, in this case it's 'FIRE' denoting a vehicle responding to a fire emergency. All police forces operate Fixed Speed Cameras and this plate may well be prominently placed to advise the Police staff processing captures by cameras that the vehicle is an emergency service vehicle, (and thus exempted from most Road Traffic laws such as speed limits)

It really bothers me how some people are so dumb and clueless about their surroundings. 'Oh look, a fkin fire truck with as many lights as possible is coming. Let me just squeeze to the other side of the road before it passes...'
A few years ago im front of my school a man decided it was a nice idea to cross the road while an ambulance was approaching at 90-100km/h. The ambulance needed to brake HARD and even locking its wheels for a few meters. I never whished so hard to someone get run over...

German cars will still be good cars to use for Police fleets, and the UK still won't pay any extra fees to import them because we're one of the biggest importers of your cars in the world!
They're good motors and we like them. Brexit is practically irrelevant.

London has used Merc fire trucks for years. My local brigade put all its MAN trucks into reserve, too many issues with the transmission. We are currently on Volvo's for primary response, a few MAN's and an old Dennis as a spare.

      - Wikipedia - A partnership between Transport for London and BTP led to the formation of the ERU. The unit carries TfL engineers to incidents on the London Underground, such as one unders and terrorist incidents. The vehicles are driven by BTP officers, so once at the scene the officer performs regular policing duties in relation to any crime or public safety issues. The use of the blue lights on the unit's vehicles is subject to the same criteria as with any other police vehicle. In December 2013, TfL announced that the trial of blue lights had ended, but ERU vehicles will retain blue lights, as BTP drivers had halved the unit's response time to incidents. Prior to the start of the trial, vehicles were liveried in TfL 'EMERGENCY' branding, and carried only red and amber lighting for use on the scene of incidents.
