You can't kill what is already dead
Wow. Get out of my head. 😂 lol
Touché
Guess it’s time to bury then?
Amen brother
QB is excited because it's a nice change. All of us know better than to go back to WG games, it's like that toxic ex. 😂
QB: "I have full faith that WG would balance out the tanks on a test server..."
**BZ-176 enters the chat**
Nah bro, all the t8 tanks are perfectly equal. the BZ-176 is just more equal than most.
Tbh the bz 176 isn't that op, the top of the turret is a massive weak point, and they have alot of downsides so I mean not too bad
APCR rounds dealing half the damage is really accurate. If you think about it APCR shells are sub caliber rounds, so they are a lot smaller. So the chances of it hitting a module or a crew member is a lot less. I think it is a nice way to balance premium ammo.
testing has shown that the difference in damage between sabot and full calibre is negligible
nah chems did a good video on why premium ammo doing less damage isnt good
@@jameshenderson6638 i tried wot again after not playing the game for years. Explain to me how premium ammo doing less damage would be bad? since i dont like getting twoclapped by BZ176s every other game...
It's how it should be for every tank, just like in WOT blitz
@@jameshenderson6638 It's good, pretty sure he said it a good idea, and if you ever played wot blitz you'd know it makes sense. You need to use game knowledge to know if u should risk for more dmg or a pen for less dmg.
I can definitely see a machine gun in the next steel hunter.
Would be interesting.
They are adding a techtree with these. Or atleast there was a leak that they are gonna make a techtree or premium tank with this kinda gun. Also might be Steelhunter, but still they are testing this
@@santenz8460 that would be so funny hahahahaha
@@santenz8460 I actually wanna see a Steelhunter tank with Multiturret mechanic, one with the O-Ho hull and different turrets and guns
and one mobility with the cupola as a new small turret with gun
I can see any AA vehicles being added in the game. The kubelwagen, Crusader AA tank, wirbelwind, M42, etc.
I can’t play the test help pls
The Thunderclap being the only one with that overheat mechanic tracks, as it's just a high rpm single-barrel. The Flakmaus doesn't put enough lead through the barrels to overheat them before a reload, and the gattling-gun on the Hailstorm rotates through several barrels for the express purpose of preventing an overheat. Also there's a LOT of real-life precedent for the gun getting less accurate the hotter the barrel is, as the softer (and expanded) metal would allow for more movement of the round inside the barrel which leads to a lot more deviation. So even if you had it 'fully aimed' it should still have a higher reticle bloom the hotter the barrel is. It would make those style tanks require very good trigger discipline unless you're point-blank.
I wanted to write this reply ... :-) ... Thanks for reducing my trouble ... ;-) ... To add with this, to balance it out, there could be some seconds of penalty for the overheated barrel of the Thunderclap, not allowing to fire for those 2-3 seconds, similar to the mechanics of the double-barrel tanks, after firing both the barrels at once.
QB, it makes a lot of sense for high pen high velocity shells to deal less damage. There is such a thing IRL as overpenetration. If the shell doesn't remain in the tank when it pens, very often than not it just punches through and leaves a hole instead of bouncing around inside and making everything into purée.
it's not overpen, but HVAP/APCR are subcaliber munitions that use the same amount of propellant as standard caliber shells but with a smaller penetrator
That's portrayed in WOWS since shooting AP ammunition at lightly armoured targets does small amounts of dmh
so hull break haha
you expect a wot player to know about complex penetration mechanics such as overpressure, overpenning, no armor best armor etc ?
to your point, one of the only abrams losses we suffered in operation desert shield? (cant remember if it was shield or storm) was when they hit a iraq tank with a APDS round and the crew bailed out, but then got back in once they realized the tank was fine and got a kill shot on the abrams that have turned/moved away because of that soft kill. meanwhile, hits with HEAT rounds were totally destroying the tanks by cooking off the ammo or vaporizing the crew/internal controls.
The console version has auto cannons and missiles already. The cannons are fun and the wrecker of pesky lights. Missiles are a bit tricky but definitely fun.
ah yeah the FORAD AMX, it does have an secondary (I'm stuck in console help)
the missiles go where your cursor is, no matter of auto aim, it follows the reticle
On cold War mode the Bradley and BMPs are key to killing the freaking Wiesel and such.
If they do add it , id Like them to add the M163 Anti-Air tank, maybe even the puma or Marder A1's
The Puma entered service in 2015...think we have some way to go from, tanks considered OP(chieftain -1958, 279e - 1959) to something that was entered service after Russia annexed Crimea...heck the first batch order of Puma was only completed in August 2021. Screw view range mechanics we gona have IFR sights and radar lmao
Puma is too new! A Mader would be nice!
Even 90 - 30mm.
@@azuresflames2473 I guess he is refering to this Puma Panzerspähwagen Sd.Kfz. 234, which is fitting in the timeline fine
Why the M163? it's basically a much shittier Hailstorm with a 20mm rather than a 37mm gun. The Hailstorm is clearly based on the 37 mm T250 six-barrel Gatling gun that was part of the T249 Vigilante.
They have had them on Console CW mode for a while. Some are doubly equipped with Missiles for a Spray Spam to Stun the individual then the Missile does 1k or All the Damage while the tank is red screened from all the shells on them
Yea Cold War is hell without a lot of spaced armor and your own rockets missiles and machine guns
Console WoT died two years ago when they redesigned the entire game. Whatever that abortion that exists now isn’t wot
It's WarThunder/PUBG made by WG, that's it.
@@EfjaybI remember that update. 6.0 I think? My friend messaged me at work with a picture and it looks like a mobile game. Specifically, it looks like the UI from the Mobile mech game you have probably had ads for on youtube
@AntHillBoy I've played since the beta on 360 (goddamn nostalgia man) but I agree...the game has gotten too flashy...it's not even like "cozy" and overall less enjoyable than the good old days. Maps and weather were cool features. Just a better time. The new game is still fun to play, the graphics are impressive (I have compared my old video captures from the 360 and my Series S...) but the UI sucks now and the tanks tab is an abortion as well.
Console, which I recently checked out after a few years away, has added the Bradley which has an auto cannon and uses TOW missiles. I even saw that certain tanks, with multiple turrets, you can alternate between the guns now too.
If they can balance it well it could open up a lot of vehicles reminiscent of the Panzer I and Panzer II Tanks in the game, and perhaps IFVs as a new Class/Subclass of Mediums and Light Tanks, I think id really enjoy seeing vehicles like the Scorpion, Sabre, M113 and other Post WW2 vehicles that work at short range with Autocannons. Though they would probably have to find a way to squeeze it into the meta so they cant just be outranged by TDs or ignored by a hull down heavy (If they balance the damage output of these things of course)
Did you say "balance it well"? They haven't managed balance in 12 year's, I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you 😂.
@@grahamfox7568 Yeah i really doubt Wargaming will get it right on the first try, they bottled wheeled tanks, im hoping thats a first try thing though. (i dream that the wheeled mediums wont be broken)
The reason the Thunderclap's reticle blooms so much is because the heat also affects it in addition to all the other factors, it kind of leaps to a larger size when you get to about 1/3-1/2 heat bar. And from my testing, the only module damage I suffered was tracks, I don't think anything else was hurt, including crew.
I think autocannons will add a new dynamic to the game. You need to know when you engage with the Hailstorm's gun at short range, as you burn ammo really quick leaving yourself vulnerable while you reload. The Thunderclap's has a decent skill floor and cap on it, with the need to burst fire, and again a big reload. Even the Flakmaus could make it more intersting with rapid fire, low calibre autloaders (It has twin 88mm guns for reference.).
I would say add the guns as options for existing tanks. Instead of adding a tech tree branch of fake tanks put them in as options on chassis that traditionally carried them like the Wirbelwind and Centaur AA. They could add in some premium tanks, but I don't think there are enough SPAAG variants to make entire tech trees for them.
If they do add new tanks for this specific gun, it would be cool to see a MiniGunner Armor similar to the one in Command and Conquer. Otherwise, this would be great if preexisting LT and MT can install this
this is war gaming remember...not everything had to exist...and war thunder has a large...very large variety...of SPAAG...and only 1 was removed due to its iffy existence
It's definitely interesting ... I'd like to see what tanks would really carry these games. I do like that ammo canisters being part of the hit box, its a fair trade off.
Also that’s how the premium rounds should be. Less dmg, but more pen. Trouble is it makes heavies even more OP
It would make flanking tanks like mediums and lights more useful.
the only way to fix it is to increase weakspot sizes and reduce spread, then it actually becomes skill based, in today's game you could aim fully and the shot could miss totally, which is why people dont bother and just load gold
to fix the gold rounds problem first rng needs to be fixed, =- 25 percent is just insane. it needs to be like 10-15 percent.
Heavies are not "OP". They are underpowered.
they should be like this when the game isn't balance around solely using gold ammo
The only way premium rounds should exist are with less damage and more pen. This is rapid fire shit is extremely uninteresting to me.
As someone who doesn't really play WoT anymore, but does play War Thunder, I personally enjoy the auto cannon gameplay a lot over there, it puts less emphasis on hitting that one shot and you feel less bad about missing since you have more shots at the ready. The game feel more tactical where finding a good spot to unload from is more rewarded, this is also somewhat relevant to WoT auto loaders that are in the game already, so I think it's not to far of a stretch and perhaps it would be fun to play.
The one thing that I think is perhaps worth considering is how fun it is to play against, like getting unloaded on by an auto loader is annoying as it is, this might be even more frustrating, so what is needed is a test where these types of vehicles are fighting normal tanks.
and yet they killed the Luch's gun that used to pretty much be this.
I like how WG came to the conclusion that all the burst damage down at low tiers was too much and how people were dying too quickly etc. etc. and yet at the higher tiers they're slapping autoloaders onto everything they can these days and now we got even faster firing auto-canons like these around the corner. I get that new mechanics are a must and I could see these being fun to play but my trust in WG to keep things balanced and to not create some outrageously OP premium down the road with this mechanic is pretty much zero.
Always a good day when Quicky Baby uploads, thank you!🙌
Enjoy!
it would be cool if you could use a little "balanced" machine gun as a secondary weapon, that's weaker than the primary canon. But not on all tanks, so it stays kinda special. Imagine the "M3 Lee" coming back as a techtree tank with a machine gun on its side or top. xD
M3 Lee would award from P.o.S. tank pool to epic vehicles.
The fact that the premium ammo does half damage is so good and something I wish was across all tanks.
WG won't do anything to discourage gold ammo use (and cut into their sales).
It’s been on Blitz for a good while now
They tried it once. They did a universal hit point increase on all tanks and increased the damage on standard rounds. The wallet warriors screamed so loud that the changes died on the test server.
@@cumulonimbusapothecary1079 Was that before prem ammo was changed from costing actual gold?
But wouldnt that in affect double the HP of every tank? Think about the "new" (post Object 252u era) tanks with tiny weakspots and crazy good armor. Halfing prem dmg seem more of a duck tape solution and a questionable one at that.
I like the cooldown mechanic on the M-V-Y, over the other rapid fire gun on the Sheridan. Pom Pom gun on the Maus was cool, but more similar to random que tanks. Best part of these guns is that the firefight looks amazing, so bring on night battles!
It is going to make some impact in the game, but with some stat tweaking here and there, I still think it can be fun. Atleast with autocannon there’s a chance it could bounce or not pennetrate. Unlike the flamethrower tanks that damages anything in front of it. Also the Hailstorm gives off PZ 1C vibes type of fun from the old days of wot.
Balancing the tank traverse speed is crucial to not further exacerbate the current 5-min game meta. Otherwise would love to see it introduced to random!
It could be used in the low tiers, where there are a lot of machine cannons.
The volume of 40,000 37mm shells must be greater than the volume of a Sheridan. I know this is an arcade game, and a test, but it's a little silly.
More and more we're seeing Armored Warfare's concepts and mechanics going into WarGaming's product line. Project CW looks like a AW in Global Operations mode but with War Thunder graphics. Now you see minigun style autocannons like the M48 GAU in AW.
This game does not have enough auto loaders and matches are already way too long.
now all we need is a version of the foch 155 with the mini-gun
Been watching Chems lately?
you have to run wot super prem for that
I have this dream of an old school t5 Chaffee being in a t10 match, rush behind a t10 tank and then go BRRRRRRAAAAAAAPPPPP!!!!!!!!
Any weapon becomes less accurate as its barrel heats up. It's super realistic and I think QB had a genius idea there.
спасибо квакич бабич, что препятствуешь любым нововведениям в умирающем проекте) надеюсь, в будущем ты откажешься от развития, оно тебе ни к чему, как и ЦА
You think camping and sniping is bad now, add these and all the single shot tanks will become snipers. ..WoT is going to have to divide into 2 divisions: Historical tanks and Modern Armored Vehicles (the hailstorm reminds me of a Bradley with a Vulcan mounted on it)....Just my opinion and I've been wrong before (hence the couple divorces under my belt 😐) Rock on Tankers 🤘😎
I'd love to see these mechanics - maybe not in the form we see here, but the general idea would be interesting.
Now all they need is laser guided missiles like in advanced warfare. Takes skill to use because they travel slower and only have so much turn rate. Itd be a good test of depth perception or sense of space.
i was sure the next big change into the game would be tier 11 but this is very surprising in a good way, these type of tanks will probably have a very high skill cap
do you WANT tanks that have a high skill cap?
i dont get why people think that its a good thing.
look at the sniper in tf2, its a class with a very high skill cap, and it can make the game miserable when the enemy has one whos really experienced
@@johnathanrichardson This. totally this. Do you want some player that is really skilled without a life in one of these?!
I always thought that WG should add machine guns as a secondary armament since a lot of tanks have that. But this I think would be bad for the game IF they don't balance it veeeerrrry carefully.
The fact that the 7.5cm secondary canon on the Maus is unusable is the biggest crime.
In World of tanks console some tanks can use their secondary guns, hopefully they add them on pc
@@Damocles450 Or the turret on the Lee and Grant.
@@Evan_397 or the derp in the b1 hull, bye bye lower tiers
@@Damocles450it's a panzer 4 gun on a tier 10 tank. What use is there for it?
I like it it seems cool definitely get the balance right and have different/new tanks if they were to come to the random queue like a new tech tree
If they balanced the alpha to fit normal dpm, then I'd be happy to see these as an optional gun module, maybe. Possibly only on certain vehicles?
I think I prefer the Thunderclap mechanic - it's novel enough to liven up the game, but doesn't have to be OP, whereas the Maus gun is just a glorified autoloader.
The first one (?) doesn't seem to have enough limiting features
This would be a cool mechanic to use for the currently unusable machine guns on tanks.
Which is something War Thunder already does.
Problem with that is it would just make lightly armoured tanks even less meta, because heavy tanks would just be immune to them.
@@bryanribeyheavies need a lot of nerfing for their mobility then. And light tanks need to be un-neutered. Like the DPs potential should be higher the lighter the tank, not whatever the setter or wz-132a are for example.
@@runzeeducation5621 yep that’s always been the issue.
@@bryanribey the original wz 132 was so fun and usable as a tier 8 that I bought camo for it, back before all the free perma camo. Big mistake as it was absolutely hammered during the tier 9 and 10 Lt intro.
Honestly the old lts didn't need to be nerfed at all.
An interesting mechanic they could add is the different types of drivetrains that were actually made
What do you mean?
@@violetstetpedder-4824 he likes trains
@@MajorSkrewup Drivetrain and trains are two different things 😅
You mean stuff like the Maus and Porsche tiger being able to reverse at top speed?
They have this mechanic in WoT Consol Cold War. They seem balanced with a volume of fire at a cost of penetration/damage. Its's good at close quarters combat but suck at long range, they also struggle to penetrate angled and spaced armor. From what I've experienced in terms of crit's are mostly engine fires.
I can only speak to the way autocannons were implemented into WoT console. There are several light tanks in Cold War mode with autocannons, which are just rapid intra-clip reload autoloaders. The individual hits are small, but the module and crew damage tends to add up rapidly. And many of those light tanks also have ATGMs on a secondary weapon system, with an independent reload, and there is a premium French medium, the FORAD, that features a 105mm main armament with an autocannon secondary.
I think Armored Warfare back in the day had a huge issue with balancing autocannons for vehicles that were IFVs. They simply do so much damage so quickly that if someone flanks you you’re basically dead
Just lower pen to where only 50% pen or something. And then balance the damage dealing.
These should never be able to pen from the front.
So fucking what? Killing enemies in one shot is the norm in War Thunder.
@@accelerationquanta5816 this isn't warthunder though.. completely different game.
HSTV-L tech tree?
You can bet WG will add the HSTV-L as a reward or premium tank and introduce a worse version in the Techtree
3:00 the extrem retical bloom just makes no sense from a realistic standpoint as the real counterparts do have an area of spread but that area of spread will not get bigger with time as its mounted stable on a tank, ship or aircraft. To make it feel closer to the real thing WG would need to at some more physics stuff. So for the time being this might be the correct or smart way to do it but still kinda dumb that the retical on a mounted, stationary gun has bloom especially since the bloom on tanks has to do with the knockback and aftereffects of the caliber.
EDIT: Still gonna be fun to have though. Flakmaus works a more like autolaoders then real miniguns/AUto-Cannons!
It looks super cool and I actually dreamed about them adding it to the game for a long time. Give me that sweet Ostwing, Wirbelwind and of course Kugelblitz! I may even get back to the game if they do this.
SUPER INTERESTING! I hope a full tree shows up, having more variation in vehicles adds to the replayability of the game.
The Hailstorm not having a heat bar makes sense since it's a rotary design and rotary guns have all those barrels to not overheat.
It should be depending on what Tier they’ll start out as, but I would like the Heat Gauge mechanic from the Thunderclap, but the gun itself from the Hailstorm. Close thing we got on Console CW side is the Eastern Alliance’s Light Tank esp from RU side that the BMP-3 was nerfed from it’s Camo Value to pump out a lot of damage while hidden. Not to mention it has a 105 MM cannon with it’s ATGM as Secondary Ammo. But the main one is the PT-76 with it’s 57MM Auto Cannons that can somewhat shred lightly armored tanks and some Medium Tanks as well.
I agree with QB, this is an interesting mechanic that if balanced correctly would work in the regular game queue. Again adding a new dynamic to the no longer historical tech trees.
I really like how the Thunderclap is implemented. It makes logical sense, for one, but it also seems like it would have the most room for strategy. Figuring out when to prioritize cooldown vs doing damage, timing your cooling to reloads, stuff like that really raises the skill ceiling, and makes mastering those mechanics that much more rewarding.
Point and shoot 'til you run out of ammo is boring IMO.
I think WG tests those 3 types of autocannons which will inflict a realistic autocannon-mounted tanks situation.
It tested for future tech-tree releases I guess.
1. Hellstorm: Vulken mounted SPAAG, which can consistently fire until drum depleted (e.g. M163 VADS).
2. Thunderclap: Guns, can rapidly fire until overheated like 2 cm Flakvierling or 4 × 23 mm 2A7 autocannons (e.g. Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind, ZSU-23-4 Shilka).
3. Flakmaus: Twin-linked medium caliber guns with clips like 2 ×Bofors 40mm guns or 2 × 57-mm S68 (e.g. M19 MGMC, M42 Duster, and ZSU-57-2 Ob'yekt 500).
I find the Thunderclap to be an interesting mechanic, especially to put onto heavy tanks. The thing is, alot of heavy tank mechanics are either alpha trading or blitzing (DPM trading). In this regard, these auto-cannons seem to allow the tank at least to have a more sustained capability in a fight (not overheating at all) or a small full burst (trading).
Interesting to say the least. If the Hailstorm's gets added it would probably need some pitiful penetration and weaker shell velocity, balancing the tank around the light tank's positioning.
Still iffy on it. It looks fun for now, but I don't know how well received it will be over a long duration of time.
Armored Warfare had had the autocannons for quite some time, so WoT could see them in action.
One thing to consider - Weight is hilarious
An Abrams with 45 rounds of APFSDS is 20kg per round - 900kg
The Hailstorm with the 37mm - 20000 rounds.....that weigh0.6kg per round historicly....12 metric tons...24 tons with premium added in ammo
if crits may be a thing then maybe spa-liner could be good as a defense for crew damage
Luchs and Leopard: "Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power"
Cool! I will definitely enjoy this feature. Looks quite fun to shower the enemies with several bullets at once!
about 2 years ago I said to my friends that autocanons will probably come... and I was thinking about something like ramka 99 in AW etc... and I miss those autocanons we had on t6 lights... so yeah this would be interesting for me
As far as heat effecting accuracy it is a real thing especially with thinner barrels, a real world example is the svd dragunov and the Romanian psl marksmen rifles, both have issues when firing for extended periods due to the pencil barrel profile heating up and whipping around like a noodle when hot.
The sound effects while in FPV is amazing 😍😍
Implementing different mechanics in the game isn't the problem. They can basically add any mechanic that makes sense, autocannons, second turret, smoke, rockets and etc. The main problem is balancing it with the game. And lets be honest, thats not WG's strong side.
I have an automatic hate of auto cannons from War thunder... but this looks very interesting and could be quite a nice addition to the game!
I've been waiting for something like this, the M163 VADS (Vulcan Air Defense System) is in War Thunder as well and has been in service since the 60s it also served in everything America has been involved in since Vietnam. And since we already have vehicles from the 70s and 80s in the game I didn't really understand why they couldn't/wouldn't add that till I thought of the rotary cannon issues, hopefully it makes it to the game
It makes sense that the Hailstorm wouldn't overheat.
I mean, the whole point of rotary machine guns and rotary cannons is that instead of pumping out 1200RPM out of a single barrel, you pump out 1200RPM out of 6 barrels, meaning that one barrel only fires 200RPM, which wouldn't overheat it.
No.
Remember the 59-16? It wasnt really that broken. This is a different set up, remniscient of the low tier automatic small bore autocannons like the Suiza on the old T1 Cunningham.
Not having a heat issue on the gatling gun is realistic. 6 barrels helps with cooling. Rapid fire is possible with single barrel, especially with revolver-style chambering. When do we get an IR-spotlight night mode?
Personally, I doubt they will add autocannons to standard mode, it will only be in Overwhelming Fire! But, I've been wrong before. Regardless, I doubt any standard autocannon tank will be like the eight in this mode, they will be more...balanced....given the observed balance that Wargaming is capable of. I do like the flakmaus though, it's fun.
Imagine you are in a FV4005 or tier 8 paper tds like skorp....
Will things like coaxial autocannons be added? Like the centurion mk1's 20mm
Also something that WOT console does better than PC wot, multiple turrets
The Maus is like my assassin tank!! But I hate this idea because my assassin tank should be the only one
I think I'd like to try it some, but I don't want the whole game to become a super fast paced game, kinda like the chill vibe of regular guns, but this would also be fun sometimes.
IRL as a rifle gets hotter the dispertion gets bigger. Probably the same for the big guns. They should implement this for balancing.
Also some guns can get so hot, that the bullet is no longer stabilized properly, it tumbles and cant penetrate hard targets. That would be cool to see.
Historically, what would happen when the barrel overheated was that it would become less accurate each time that happened until it was simply useless.
The issue isn't the barrel but the chamber and how it would simply erode the throat and rifling. Eventually the barrel is basically a smooth bore and fairly useless at long ranges.
WG continues its way to "pay-pay, bang-bang".
Havent played the game in years, just following your content because you are entertaining. These guns look fun and I would enjoy watching you have great battles with them. Me, myself and I won´t return to WoT as it´s just not my game anymore. Currently addicted to Diablo 4 and on other days I play WoW WotLK.
I think that it would be a welcome addition to the game. But to be honest, I think it going to be a balancing nightmare. High rate of fire without being OP. And the economic balancing. If I go full burst mode with gold rounds, What would that look like? Are the rounds going to be dirt cheap, or are these tanks never going to make a profit? It looks like fun, but so hard to balance.
I saw the video title and I thought you're getting something like russian or soviet 57mm autocannons in there that go pop pop pop, kinda like fast autoloaders, or those low tier tanks. I was not expecting A-10 level of brrrrt.
pretty normal in Armored Warfare, balancing is very low pen and no armor and only 50% HP in comparison to other tanks of the same tier, but if you manage to get rear of the heavily armoured target you eat it in few seconds, for example normal tanks in tier 8 have around 4000 DPM but machine guns have around 15-20k dpm if you pen all bullets
QB, you didn't say what the guns were on each tank, I would like to know for historical reference.
Historically overheating flak gun barrels would jam and explode, which is why so many had quad barrels or gatlings.
It appears also, when firing AP rounds, flak guns often fired single shot rather than fully auto, as the dispersion was too great. High dispersion is okay up to a point when shooting at planes with HE, the idea being to put as many shots into roughly where the aircraft is gonna be when the two meet.
So if WG increase the dispersion bloom for firing fully auto or near overheating, that would be good.
I think these would be a neat idea to slip into existing tech trees, as most flak tanks are just standard tanks with a different turret. If they set it up right, just your development of tank upgrades could give you the option of buying the flak turret after you've got the standard tank. They could then create an option where you swap turrets out before entering the random queue.
EG a Panther tank would have the FlakPanther turret option of twin 37mm AA, or a Crusader could have the Crusader I AA with 40mm Bofors or Crusader 2 AA with twin 20mm polsten cannon.
Most of the Panzers had flakpanzer versions. You'll love the Leopard tank options - the twin 35mm of the Gepard, or the Italian OTO Melara 76mm.
So all these could be dropped into existing tech trees and wouldn't even be new vehicles, but would give players and games a lot more variety.
After that of course other flak vehicles could then be added as new vehicles.
I actually like all three of them, each of them have thier own drawback. The hailstorm has to rev up, getting higher fire rate the longer you shoot, the thunderclap with the overheat, and the flakmaus.. idk tbh. They all look really fun though!
Having a high skillcap can be a way of balancing the guns, but that will add more to the already high new-player bar, so it comes with a "price". But it is fun. And I agree with you about the machine-gun version being a bit hard to implement in a good way. And QB, you missed the opportunity of saying "can you shoot with a dobbel-barrel gun with just one Maus-click....." 🙂
The console game already this - many of the existing tanks, especially in Cold War, can swap armaments to ATGM and autocannon. It's quite decently done, barring the balance on the Weisel TOW.
the reason the hailstorm doesnt have the cooldown is because its like a minigun where it rotates through the barrels in order to not overheat them
The machine gun is the first brand new sound we've gotten since the sound overhaul YEARS ago 😂
This would annihilate light tank game play, I can't imagine it would benefit any of them because of the likelihood of tracking/damaging mobility instantaneously. If it has poor penetration it would still be able to wallop any light without at least 60mm of armor.
I like the Flakmaus that they added in, it looks cool and I remember hearing people say that it is a real design
Gatling guns don’t need a heat bar because it’s harder for them to overheat because the barrels spin it keeps them fairly cool using air until you fire it for an extended amount of time like a minute straight. And yes historically heated barrels will throw shots off your point of aim fairly significantly depending on how hot it is.
hey QB... I don't think that they will necessarily put in these tanks because they don't exist but there are actually tanks with MG's that exist for example the German Wiesel
My only other thought process, is this is a test bed for the other "WoT 2.0" game, using the much larger player base on the test server than they could ever use on a private test.
Can't wait for the Even 90 - 30mm. It's going to be great to have grown up Luchs driving around.
I've played maybe 50 battles in the last 6 months. This would bring me back atleast for a little while.
Thoughts if the new guns acted as a sort of secondary weapon on some tanks, fired from the gunners position if the tank has one in the turret. Make the gun overheat faster and reduce the ammo capacity, have a hot key to switch between the two guns?
What would we do with the machine guns?
@@violetstetpedder-4824 Finish off tanks when they are left on very low hp, compensate for minimum damage rounds, rather than loading a HE round to finish off targets
hotter gun barels do mean they are less accurate. the barrel swells. this allows gas leakage around the shell, and allows a slight wobble of the shell. a hot gun barrel gives you a slower moving, wobbly bullet. the effect is pretty minimal, but its a real effect.
I'm definitely interested in seeing what this wold be like to play. Cool. :).
Hailstorm having no heat problem makes sense, as having little to no heating problems is the reason Miniguns use multiple barrels
There should be an accuracy penalty the longer you hold the trigger like in most Battlefield games. Allows you to burst fire in medium to long ranges.
If these guns do more critical damage on crew, that would be a strong counter to overpowered heavies. It would be nice to have this gun as an option on selected tanks.
That being said, what I think would be an improvement to the game writ large is to be able to switch tanks pre game, the way we can swap equipment load outs now, as long as they were the same tier/class. This would make the game more dynamic, enjoyable and would compel players to collect and keep tanks with usable crew.
I also think garage vs. garage matches would be cool. How? Not sure, but there's a game there.
