      Beautiful llandscape! I also love Pe-ry- lene green as well. Sorry but my mom was a stickler for pronunciation and spelling when I was growing up, so now it is a pet peeve with me. Not your problem, it's mine.😂 when I hear praline I think of sugared pecans.😊

    I enjoy your landscapes and your use of purlene green and red. I don’t quite get your use of water, it seems you’re going in dry, yet you’re getting mainly one coat coverage. I see you going back in with more pigment yet you’re not getting cauliflowers….what’s your trick?

    • @katrinacrouch
      @katrinacrouch  Год назад +1

      The trick is to have a damp brush. Cauliflowers or “blooms” are created when you add too much water and not enough pigment to a damp surface. The water spreads, but the pigment is pushed out by all the water and settles in at the edges. If you dab your brush off on a paper towel or rag (I use a rag), then you can avoid the blooms.
      Definitely a more “dry” painting technique, but it gives you a lot more control!

      That’s a great question-I’ll try to film a video demo on that for you soon ❤️

    Just a couple of comments and a question I know that watercolor and oil and acrylic painting candy really super messy so I was kind of cringing through the whole video hoping that you didn't get all your rings messed up with😊 LOL also if you don't like the pad of paper just throw it out and here's my question where did you get that porcelain Tran how much is?

    • @katrinacrouch
      @katrinacrouch  Год назад

      Watercolor is water based and will do no harm to my rings. Even if pigment did get on them, it would wash right off. Oil and acrylic are a little more “risky” but again, metal and diamonds are pretty safe from the evils of painting.
      I often use paper that I don’t love to test out different techniques or work in a subject that makes me uncomfortable: like landscapes. I really like this size even if the paper isn’t my favorite. It can be liberating to try something new “for free” and I usually experience a lot of growth through these trials.
      You can find my porcelain mixing tray here: amzn.to/45R2xT2
