I'm so glad BUZZR got the rights to this amazing show from my childhood. People have uploaded episodes to RUclips, but the VHS graininess really negatively impacts this show because you need true artifact-free SD image quality to solve the puzzles sometimes.
@Anthony Guarino I know I've seen several other eps on Buzzr where they found 2 in a row. Never saw 3 besides this one. What a way to start the series off. Might've given people a confused idea of how the game is supposed to work! Alex Trebek must truly be the "wizard of odds."
CC has been the holy Grail for game show fans watching GSN for decades, but from what I understand, NBCUni held the rights, not Goodson/Fremantle. How they got this, we don't know. But thank God Buzzr did!
Wow they let her guess before the last two pieces were revealed. In later episodes if 2 matches were available if one match was made they get em automatically
And given she got it when she saw the whole puzzle, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. As Alex said once on the show as advice to the contestant: "Give yourself every advantage."
If I hosted a revival of this show, here's an example of a list of 8 cars I'd try to give away. 1. Honda Civic 2. Toyota Corolla 3. Volkswagen Golf 4. Chevrolet Camaro 5. Jeep Wrangler 6. Ford Mustang 7. Hyundai Accent 8. Fiat 500X
The Iran-Contra hearings really didn't start to affect daytime game shows airing until July 6, 1987, and that continued for about five weeks. After a couple weeks, only one network(ABC, CBS, NBC only at that time, Fox was new) would air the coverage each day. It helped cause $25K Pyramid to go into reruns, cause the MOn-Fri celeb schedule of SUper Password to go way off kilter, and caused the new show Bargain Hunters on ABC in part to die after nine weeks(besides its airing against TPIR). There were some days CBS aired Card Sharks and TPIR between 12:30-2PM EST that SUmmer IIRC and preempted soaps instead, and ISTR $25K Pyramid airing at 2PM once or twice.
I loved this game show when I was a kid.👍👍👍

What a beginning for the very first game
David got off to a "WILD" start
Alex should have said that to make the audience laugh.
2:39 WILD!
2:49 WILD!
3:11 WILD!
Jonathan Myers That’s the one and only time that EVER happened. 😳

All 3 wild cards means $1,000
@@DrLove0378 That's right Match 3 Wild Cards and you get a $1,000
@@alexanderwells4402 But only $500 for just 2.
Alex was great on this show. Tied with Jeopardy for my favorite!
This is the BEST Alex Trebek game show
This game show as well as Jeopardy were Alex's best game shows that he ever hosted in his lifetime! R.I.P. Alex! (1940-2020)
Classic Concentration was originally aired on NBC.
3:12 The look on the guy's face!
This episode wasn't seen in many parts of the country the day it aired on 5/4/87 because it was pre-empted by the Iran-Contra televised hearings.
Anyone got an episode of “Classic Concentration” when Alex got caught in the act mentioning “another show” that he hosted?

Fremantle had it the entire time, but had sold it to the UK for re-runs. Some international cooperation brought it back.

didn't air in St. Louis because KSDK channel 5 wouldn't carry it and other NBC game shows at the time
LOVE THIS SHOW!!
LOVE ALEX TREBEK (the G.O.A.T.)!!
Some of those CARS, though (LOL)!!
What happened to the Buzzr channel on Pluto TV? I don't see it there anymore, and this was as of a couple days ago.
So is Buzzr only cycling through the first 75 episodes of this series? It seems like they've started over at the beginning twice since October.
Props to your thumbnail crew

Goodbye Alex Trebek! May he RIP.
He will NEVER be forgotten!

And today who's watching reruns of Iran-Contra? They backed the wrong horse back then. LOL
10:46-10:59 Drool :D
Alex Trebek before (exhales) Sean Connery made his life miserable.
Man I forgot how ugly cars were back then.
