Rearding tracks Reiza "reused" from Project CARS 2. In the forums Renato confirmed that Monaco, Nurburgring, Daytona and Long Beach "feature reworked SMS trackside objects AND reformed terrain / track mesh" (so not 1:1 copies, but close) and Silverstone, Spa, Snetterton and Donington "feature some SMS trackside objects (but terrain and track mesh was redone from scratch)". All other tracks (even those found in PC2) are 100% scratch done by Reiza.
Great update, it's nice to see prominent RUclipsrs reviewing AMS2, which is my favourite of the sims I have (I have all but iRacing); too many write this sim off as having Project Cars heritage (Madness Engine) but I think Reiza consistently shows its ability to optimise the game & make it interesting, different & compelling...for me the historic cars & tracks set it apart from most of the others which churn out Monza, Spa, Imola et al; with AMS2 you get these (not Monza yet of course) & also historic versions to experience the game in bygone eras. You didn;t mention the new weather system where realistic weather records for the last 40 years can be used to recreate real historic races....that's a major coup for me. As usual great work sir!
The cars bounciness really seems to be disappearing! I mean, I'm a RF2 big fan, but if Reiza can nail this freaking Madness engine?!? Count me in man! Content, graphics, performance, lots of costumization... Please Reiza, make it happen!

yes to me bounciness never was the issue, it was indeed a lot related to camera settings and the fact that springs feedback are transformed into lateral forces which has its own interest. However the wheel/tires angle is very different from RF2 and and makes it hard to go from a title to another, the first 30 degrees on the wheel are very sensitive and the behavior need adherence rupture seams more related to a tire angle speed variable than really relying on the mass transfers. This being said I enjoy this sim a lot, particularly to play with few friends online.
@@BboyVReck Ok I just played the game after 1.2 update and played the CR8 it is great. Maybe it was just the difference between the 720s GT3 from AMS and the one from RF2 which bothered me since it is the car I play the most and I love the RF2 version of it.

Although Reiza did a good job with AMS. I still have to say that no one has fully utilized the potential of the madness engine. That being said it is so sad that SMS tried to hard to destroy Project cars and Reiza is the one providing us with what PC3 should've been
Instead of being sad, why not try being happy that Reiza struck a deal with SMS to develop AMS2 on madness engine, so that we finally got a taste of the madness real potentials without SMS being confused whether to develop a simcade or a sim.
I’ve been away from the PC sim scene for the best part of a decade. Just waiting for the GPU market to calm down! I’ve read all the criticisms about AMS2, some seem valid, others not so much. But as someone new to the scene AMS2 is the sim that excites me the most. The car & track variety is exactly what I’m looking for. With the news AC2 is only coming in ‘24 - Reiza have a great opportunity to gain marketshare. As polished as ACC now is I’m just not satisfied driving around in GT3 & GT4 cars. So it’s over to AMS2 to fill the void in the market.

AMS2 has become my just for fun sim. I don't stress about quirky physics anymore. It's okay to just have fun and not over think things all the time. I've found AMS2 much more enjoyable with that mindset.

You said the Porsche sounded the best I cranked the volume and I almost came LOL I've been waiting for this update for weeks now checking every day. Yes they found a new hobby, "working hard" legally ripping content from the other sim. The tracks are from PC2 , I'm sure that those US content are from RF2.

@@edteach3r because Reiza seems linking to proceed like this , Reiza pack in exchange of US cars may be, Pc3 picked some AMS2 assets and vice versa. "ripped" is a strong word but they do all of this legally.
Great video. I especially liked the 3 laps showing the tracks in each of the 3 cars. The engine sounds in AMS2 and in modern racing games never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for another very informative and interesting video.
What you said at 4:10 about the Porsche is pretty accurate. I've been driving the 911 RS on GTR2 and I've always struggled with getting the car settled down on corner entry. But it always provides a lot of fun.
I'm supporting these guys all I can. The amount of work and detail these guys put in the game is fenomenaal. I recently purchased 3dof motion system and AMS2 had by far the most details in motion. Better then AC and acc. Graphics look great and ai is there fighting you. I'm in love man.
I love the fact that the Porsche is using the sounds samples from SHR Modding (ACFAN) since he announced that was working with Reiza, although is not the actual sound of that RSR version, but let's be honest we like it more than the current one
@@SimRacing604 Yep, The audio sample that SHR used to make that mod (For AC, now here) were taked from the Porsche 991.2RSR (The 2017-2018 version) that had a straight exhaust, the actual version have side exhaust

@@honkeytonkee4328 think its always going to boil down to personal preference, I mean I don't race in just one sim I play around 4 regularly, ams 2 is my favourite for vr and racing with my friends, its clear and really nice experience in vr and great UI meaning I don't have to keep taking my headset off to start races like I do in assetto, the bad VR UI is why I don't ever play ac or acc anymore, my mains if I had to pick 2 would be ams 2 for friends play and raceroom for single player ranked gaming.
@@aidenfielding9709 I play ACC on VR exclusively and there is absolutely no issue with the UI at all. The _only_ time I have to lift my headset is to type in a server name in the search.

I agree about the onboard sound seeming muffled. I've tried the Porsche and Vette in the beta and thought exactly that. The external sound is better but if I listen to it without watching the screen it sounds like the cars are in a tunnel.
@@niismo. not even the best DLCs help much if the base game is heavily flawed. I play all major racing games but AMS 2 is the only one where even the most basic things are nerve wrecking, I can't even get my fanatec wheel and pedals to work properly, as I couldn't with the Logitech G923. It's just no fun if you can't even play it properly, and I haven't even mentioned the wonky handling of some cars
As you can see you seem to be the only reporting such issues on this video, it must be something wrong on your end. It is a good idea to join the official forum and Facebook group and you will definitely get those issues sorted. And wait till you play the game after this update. You will be positively surprised.

And I'm definitely not the only one having issues, I see many people with them, maybe not particularly my issue but there's enough other things, why do all other games just work fine out of the box. I already spend more time trying to get the game working than actually playing it.. First it was triple Monitor setup, than my first wheel, than the 2nd wheel, than the pedals, cmon that's not normal
It's looking better and better with each build, but there's one manufacturer in particular that I'm waiting on before pulling the trigger on purchasing it, a certain Prancing Pony from Maranello to help fill out the classes.
@SayreHarder I am on the fence about buying but yet I read about a lot of bugs and inconsistencies in the game and how updates have a bad habit of breaking things not really associated with the update something to do with the way the game engine is configured. Also see where it is recommended to delete game files on some updates and it makes it sound on one hand to be a hot mess at its current stage of development but possible good potential. Also on the forums quite a few complaints about trying to find good FFB settings. And then to get all content the price which is not exactly cheap, coupled with all the reported issues does not really give me a warm fuzzy feeling about hitting the buy button quite yet anyway!

Great run through. I'll be getting it. I've just purchased AMS2 and it looks amazing in VR. I've been looking for the last 2 weeks where I fit in and what is the hot sim racer at the moment and its really hard to decide which way to go. I've just purchased a steering wheel and pedal (Thrustmaster TX leather). Various titles with pro and cons. I feel like there is no 1 size fits all. I just purchased AC last night, haven't played it but after watching this I feel I should stick with AMS2 for the long ride. The thing the slightly puts me off is the small multiplayer community. Do you think overtime this may sky rocket with online users to be something like ACC or even AC? What is it the AMS2 needs to do to win people over, is it physics? And is Reiza up for improving it in the right direction? This title does excite me the most.
AMS2 looks great and runs great i just wish they would stabilize the releases more regarding ffb and physics. Every release changes those so its just too hard to commit time to something when its changing too much of its core from update to update.
I really liked AMS 2 when it first came out, but after some of the earlier updates the FFB felt horrible, for me anyway, and I just couldn’t enjoy it anymore. Haven’t played it in a while, but with this new update I think it’s time I give it another chance. Hopefully it feels a lot better.
@@gtrbooster9562 Well, it does have more variety than ACC for sure, and the FFB is near that of ACC. But as always, Sim Comparisons end up being apples and oranges :-) TO each his own, I own them all - other than iRenting.
@@WromWrom definitely, I still come back to ams2 time to time, just because of it has lots of cars and very well done tracks. For fun its really good SIM, for training I'd go for rf2. But today for online racing many people would rather choose ACC or IR.

AMS2 started to screw with me. It won't start. It freezes when a red screen with "Reiza" appears. I can Ctrl-Alt-Del and reboot. But it won't start. What is more strange, if I start ACC, close, and then start AMS2 it's 50/50 if it would start. I don't know where I can solve this problem. I was redirected to troubleshooting and on that page it says that MSI Afterburner or similar software could freeze the game. This is as far as I got...
@SayreHarder I did all of that. Used Display Driver Uninstaller on everything. Reinstalled AMD Chipset, GPU,... drivers. Steam/Validate. Didn't used Afterburner or any similar software. But if I reboot, start ACC, Exit, start AMS2, it sometimes starts normally. This is one of the most bizarre behavior I've seen - almost - it's up there. I'm a software developer and I've seen some very bizarre stuff in my life...
8 inches might not sound significant......unless you have a penchant for naval History, are subscribed to Drach and/or remember that this was the maximum gun calibre of the "treaty Cruisers". Which is a calibre of around 207mm or 20.7 cm. Then you realize that 8 inches can be highly significant, among other things.....
Does anyone have any idea when you will be able to race on tracks you dont have DLC for..I just got the game and I thought that I would be able to race on any track in multiplayer..lets be real this community isnt really big enough to be split up...I was just wondering if i miss heard you when you said that all tracks would be open in multiplayer..the game is the best sim ive played so far, but they really shouldnt be charging for standard tracks like well all of them...If they want to have a hope of making it, it should be cars only and even then just a few...thanks would appreciate any info on the subject..

The "bounciness" was only in the heads of a vocal minority. The only bouncy car was the Porsche, which in real life IS bouncy.

Ams2 used to change alot back when it first released right. I dont know gow good it is now but if it's as good as acc or even assert corsa id get it

I agree about the onboard sound seeming muffled. I've tried the Porsche and Vette in the beta and thought exactly that. The external sound is better but if I listen to it without watching the screen it sounds like the cars are in a tunnel.
Update sounds pretty cool, but unfortunately it's not the quantity of content that's the problem 😞

@@niismo. not even the best DLCs help much if the base game is heavily flawed. I play all major racing games but AMS 2 is the only one where even the most basic things are nerve wrecking, I can't even get my fanatec wheel and pedals to work properly, as I couldn't with the Logitech G923. It's just no fun if you can't even play it properly, and I haven't even mentioned the wonky handling of some cars

As you can see you seem to be the only reporting such issues on this video, it must be something wrong on your end. It is a good idea to join the official forum and Facebook group and you will definitely get those issues sorted. And wait till you play the game after this update. You will be positively surprised.
@@KkRech thanks but I definitely shouldn't have to join a Facebook group just to be able to play a game, especially not since I don't use Facebook. And I'm definitely not the only one having issues, I see many people with them, maybe not particularly my issue but there's enough other things, why do all other games just work fine out of the box. I already spend more time trying to get the game working than actually playing it.. First it was triple Monitor setup, than my first wheel, than the 2nd wheel, than the pedals, cmon that's not normal

The 911 RSR is mid engine the same as the C8, so most of the weight is in front of the rear axle.

@SayreHarder I am on the fence about buying but yet I read about a lot of bugs and inconsistencies in the game and how updates have a bad habit of breaking things not really associated with the update something to do with the way the game engine is configured.
Also see where it is recommended to delete game files on some updates and it makes it sound on one hand to be a hot mess at its current stage of development but possible good potential.
Also on the forums quite a few complaints about trying to find good FFB settings.
And then to get all content the price which is not exactly cheap, coupled with all the reported issues does not really give me a warm fuzzy feeling about hitting the buy button quite yet anyway!
I'm sure the update will be rolled out when it's bedtime here. And then I'll probably pulling an all-nighter which cost me my job and I'll get broke so I have to sell my body behind the train station. Thank you, Renato! *Cry

Great run through. I'll be getting it. I've just purchased AMS2 and it looks amazing in VR. I've been looking for the last 2 weeks where I fit in and what is the hot sim racer at the moment and its really hard to decide which way to go. I've just purchased a steering wheel and pedal (Thrustmaster TX leather). Various titles with pro and cons. I feel like there is no 1 size fits all. I just purchased AC last night, haven't played it but after watching this I feel I should stick with AMS2 for the long ride. The thing the slightly puts me off is the small multiplayer community. Do you think overtime this may sky rocket with online users to be something like ACC or even AC? What is it the AMS2 needs to do to win people over, is it physics? And is Reiza up for improving it in the right direction?
This title does excite me the most.
Now if only there were more players online...
AMS2 looks great and runs great i just wish they would stabilize the releases more regarding ffb and physics. Every release changes those so its just too hard to commit time to something when its changing too much of its core from update to update.
I really liked AMS 2 when it first came out, but after some of the earlier updates the FFB felt horrible, for me anyway, and I just couldn’t enjoy it anymore. Haven’t played it in a while, but with this new update I think it’s time I give it another chance. Hopefully it feels a lot better.
FFB is much, much better now. They've been working on the physics and the FFB continously.
But no better than rf2 or ACC yet...
@@gtrbooster9562 Well, it does have more variety than ACC for sure, and the FFB is near that of ACC. But as always, Sim Comparisons end up being apples and oranges :-)

@@WromWrom definitely, I still come back to ams2 time to time, just because of it has lots of cars and very well done tracks. For fun its really good SIM, for training I'd go for rf2. But today for online racing many people would rather choose ACC or IR.
But yeah I still waiting for online overhaul, rating system or official online series etc. for ams

AMS2 started to screw with me. It won't start. It freezes when a red screen with "Reiza" appears. I can Ctrl-Alt-Del and reboot. But it won't start. What is more strange, if I start ACC, close, and then start AMS2 it's 50/50 if it would start. I don't know where I can solve this problem. I was redirected to troubleshooting and on that page it says that MSI Afterburner or similar software could freeze the game. This is as far as I got...
@SayreHarder I did all of that. Used Display Driver Uninstaller on everything. Reinstalled AMD Chipset, GPU,... drivers. Steam/Validate. Didn't used Afterburner or any similar software. But if I reboot, start ACC, Exit, start AMS2, it sometimes starts normally. This is one of the most bizarre behavior I've seen - almost - it's up there. I'm a software developer and I've seen some very bizarre stuff in my life...
Is no one picking up on the fact the 911.2 RSR has the wrong sounds, I love the screamer but thats not how the side exit exuast car sounds

8 inches might not sound significant......unless you have a penchant for naval History, are subscribed to Drach and/or remember that this was the maximum gun calibre of the "treaty Cruisers". Which is a calibre of around 207mm or 20.7 cm.
Then you realize that 8 inches can be highly significant, among other things.....

Does anyone have any idea when you will be able to race on tracks you dont have DLC for..I just got the game and I thought that I would be able to race on any track in multiplayer..lets be real this community isnt really big enough to be split up...I was just wondering if i miss heard you when you said that all tracks would be open in multiplayer..the game is the best sim ive played so far, but they really shouldnt be charging for standard tracks like well all of them...If they want to have a hope of making it, it should be cars only and even then just a few...thanks would appreciate any info on the subject..
