Such an amazingly simple concept…essentially trap and roll from half guard….with all the crazy moves out there people miss the beauty of being razor sharp on concepts like this…what a wizard!!!
Thank you for posting this! I’ve looking everywhere for clips of this fighter doing this exact sweep. So beautiful to watch. His timing on it is impeccable. Seems like he could combo this with a sweep going the other way.
I wonder why sweeps are so uncommon to see in mma nowadays? I dont know anything about grappling but from my ignorant point of view, doesn't it seem like a better idea than wall-walking when you are going to face a good cage wrestler like khabib? I'd love to be informed on this.
your right, atleast it plays exactly into the hands of the Eagle Fight team. Not to denigrate Barnaoui, but if higher level grapplers like Oliveira adopted his strategy they could probably stop Khabib, Mackachev, etc. Atleast, they'd be more successful. Tony Ferguson also clearly developed a lot of strategies against the cage that you can see against Oliveira, and Dariush. Not enough people seem to be accurately identifying the strategy or influence on Tony's part there.
They really do work I know when I practice MMA in the gym I'm always actively looking for sweeps I think alot of fighters choose to wrestle up rather than sweep but they're both effective ways I try to mix in both , wrestlers like khabib could be hard to sweep because their base and balance are so good on the ground and would break the controls needed to get the sweep but khabib would definitely be able to hit sweeps but seems to chose a more grinding wrestling style
@@charlesdean03 It actually worked against Makhachev every time he used it. The reason he lost that fight was cause he wasn't stopping any takedowns, but every time he got taken down he'd get back up the second he felt like it. He also had some good submission attempts and landed good strikes on the ground as well.
Jack slack just jizzed his pants
His vid was the one that introduced me to him

Arm drag with a giggler is unstoppable

Yair actually did this sweep in the main event against Holloway. The moment I saw that, I was reminded of Mansour
Here for the same reason haha
Mansour barnaoui one of the more underrated fighter

Wall walking and getting to the cage has been the "meta" for so long that it could be difficult to change for fighters/coaches.

I do love good jiujitsu

The Tunisian beast 🇹🇳🏆
Watching this and people still want to say Jujitsu is useless in a fight. 😂
Most people who say that don't train in any martial art
We all know Mansour got robbed BADLY in this fight agaisnt Makhachev.
