In the 1930s, my mom was suspended from school because, in her fashion and design class, she designed a cocktail dress that exposed the knee. We have the drawing on our wall.
My last 2 years in HS I ended up with a lot of rich kids and when one of the elites asked me where I got my shirt, I said it was tailor-made.

Ever time I hear a weird law, I know there is an equally weird thing that happened to cause it to be made. We don't print "Do Not Eat" on the incredible list of non edible objects for sale. It was listed on the side of a bag of wood chips used for meat smoking. So....what clown ate the wood chips???

Recently a strange By-law was actually activated in London UK, when they had to lower hay bales down from a bridge in London. It sounds strange, but there is reason for it.
The bridge in question was undergoing maintenance and the stands the workers had to be on to do the work were low enough to affect how much headroom boats would have. But the river was still open to boats so they were still passing under it. As a result, the by-law was triggered and they had to lower Hay bales over the bridge. The point is that it serves as a warning to oncoming boats that there's less headroom.
I wonder if they can use something other than hay bales in the modern age? since the by-law has been around for hundreds of years apparently

In Denmark there is a law, which is technically still in effect.
(paraphrased) it states that if a Swede walks across the ice in Øresund, any Dane is allowed to beat him with a stick.
The law comes from when Denmark and Sweden were at war, and there was a particularly hard winter, which caused Øresund to freeze over, making it possible for the Swedish army to just walk over to Denmark.
So a law was put in place that it was perfectly legal for a Dane to beat any Swede, who walked across Øresund, with a stick.

Controversial Fact: Christmas is actually NOT originally a Christian festival, but it actually originated from the Pagan festival of Saturnalia from the Roman Empire. The reason why this became a Christian festival is because to entice the nature worshiping Pagans. So if you are a true Christian, don't celebrate Christmas because you are celebrating a Pagan festival.

While Coco Chanel didn’t invent trousers she did popularize them as a fashion garment. She would wear what she called beach pajamas which she wore while vacationing on the Fr. Riviera. She drew her inspiration from sailors pants and paired them with sleeveless tops. They were considered risqué because of their association with the bedroom. She was definitely a fashion icon whose amazing clothing was a favorite of Princess Diana. Unfortunately her favorite designer also came with the unfortunate initial logo of a pair of intertwined “C’s.” Because of the obvious C & C association of her husband and his hussy, Princess D had all Coco Chanel labels removed from her clothing except one. She kept one logo (maybe a button, a clasp on a purse, a small label somewhere, etc.) I believe it was out of respect for the designer. Don’t remember the actual reason. I read it a while ago and don’t remember for sure. I just remember reading she removed almost everything on her clothing and would have a seamstress find buttons or whatever, that were similar to what she had and replace them. I’m not sure I would have done all that. Seems like it’s letting C2 win the war. (C2 is Camilla. Chuck is the first C in the pair. I made that up). But we each do what we have to do! Got all that info from articles so if stuff is incorrect it’s not my fault. Slam the OP if you have a problem with it.
Well ghere are 2 thoughts now. One is she never wore the Chanel line again, another says she did but had the labels removed. I’m going with the second.

That said, freedom speech only applies to the government stopping you from freely expression yourself as long. As long as your speech does not enact violence, or calls, distress or anger towards another person so as long as you’re not saying hey, let’s start another insurrection to the government you’re fine. You can say whatever you like, as long as it is not hateful or violent or insights violence.

Even it it wasn't taken off the books in 2018 as you state there are but if they are in America the law likely wouldn't apply anyway as laws are specific to a nation, state or geographic area. So each place would have different laws such as an earlier example you used of a British person using the f bomb and eventually getting deported.
