I was once a janitor at a large pentecostal church that hosted a regional meeting. The parking lot hosted hundreds of Lincolns and Caddilacs...... really old Lincolns and Caddilacs. They used the loudest P.A. system I ever heard and pom , pom , girls exactly like at a basketball game. The preachers all had a chance to make a speech. Every speech started out with the same words, the name of the church, and , " We run about so and so 100 people on Sunday." This pentecostal denomination church had a 5 fold ministry that my fellow janitor called , " The 5 finger ministry." Maybe you've heard of a " 5 finger discount?"

My neighbor and me were talking about this too today. The church are the followers of Jesus, not a building. My question is who are the poor? Homeless people who abuse drugs and or alcohol have options yet refuse the help. So, who do you say are the poor?
@@carlac9026 The word ekklesia refers to the people. The word for a building where the assembly meets is ekklesiasterion. The point about having a building is that in ancient times you had to have a place where the Torah scrolls could be kept and protected from the elements.
The misunderstanding is this is the end of the AGE...not end of time...A new Age is being Born Again... Life Jesus taught is actually cyclical not linear...The Sun of God teaches this daily...
@@One-z6y Let's start from the Church's factory setting. 1. Acts 1. The believers gather in a group of about 120. This is the age at which Moses died and is the number of priests who accompanied the Ark as it was brought into Jerusalem in the time of King David. In Jewish law it is the quorum for a community which is to be served by its own court of full jurisdiction. 2. The eleven Apostles are each mentioned by name. The Eleven are an assembly capable of sitting as a court. 3. Mary is mentioned by name. She and John have been living together as mother and son for seven weeks. This reminds us that the court that sat at the place which the Lord chooses as a home for His Name is the supreme court. 4. The commandment concerning Pentecost (Shavuot) is that the people must convene a holy assembly (miqra qodesh). The holy assembly (ekklesia agia) is convened for public business that is lawful only for the High Priest.
Sounds like you didn't know there are three Christs. The one you're talking about is named Arihabi and not Jesus i guarantee you didnt know this and will consider this popycock. The Christ you love is named Jeshua Sananda Melchizadek and he never died on any cross. Good luck

Are home fellowships the future?
Is what is happening today to churches (declining attendance) a wakeup call to strengthen our own faith?

our first task is to love them, and everything else follows from that

Good question. Poor can be poor in spirit, finances, education etc...

That's a part of the organized church the teaching of pretrib rapture
Does this mean that Jesus wants disorganised religion? In which case, by what biblical authority do you call yourself a pastor?
It wasn't Jesus who created the church. He didn't even write the Bible.
No. The Lord's ways are not our ways. The key is to be humble, learn to listen and then follow His instructions. The church is more organic.
