  • Another week of builds and upgrades for our 2020 Mercedes Sprinter Van 4x4! As the summer comes to an end and we head into fall we are starting to look to check off our long list of things we have yet to finish on the van. This week it is putting new tires on the van! We went with BF Goodrich KO2 All-Terrain Tires paired with Black Rhino Rims. As well we did a big suspension upgrade that helps bring the back end of the van to be level with the front which has been something bothering us for a while and we are happy to see the van level again! We also added an incredible Tire Rack that we got from our friends at Nirvana Outfitters in Salmon Arm, British Columbia (www.nirvanaoutfitters.com/) and an incredible brush guard from our friends at Stoked Adventure Outfitters in Squamish, British Columbia (stoked-adventure.com/).

I remember you had the tires installed by a tire shop. They often use an impact wrench and use toooo much torque. I bet you put them back on using the proper amount of torque, which will help prevent problems if you have to change the tire later. Thanks again for the great video!

Good job on the suspension upgrades! We did the same thing to our 4x4 sprinter. Althoguh we didn't install the extra leaf springs for a couple of years after the sumo springs. Because of that, we actually developed cracks on the frame just behind the upper sumo spring mounting plate. Fortunately the damage seems pretty localized and we had to re-enforce it with extra welded in steel plates. We also have beefed up sway bar from Helwig. Honestly, I don't think its worth it if you already have sumo and extra leaf springs. In fact, I have issues with the helwig sway bars clunking when the weight of the van shifts from side to side. Here is a video we made about the sumo spring problems we had. ruclips.net/video/10zH1UtkiQ4/видео.html

That’s amazing! Thanks so much for the feedback. Great to hear from you because I had already watched your video on Air Suspension a month or so ago and that was the sole reason I decided to cancel my order for airbags and decided to start with the leaf springs. The sway bar I’m getting came as part of a kit with the shocks and sumo springs, so I’ll give it a try and if I don’t like it I’ll take it off. I’ll check out your other video!

@@SuperSpringsInternational after purchasing the suggested suspension upgrade for my vehicle, I called technical support to find out why they were in effective and did not fit the vehicle correctly. I explained that a 2019 Mercedes sprinter was not the same as all previous years of Sprinter production. The person I spoke to told me too re-adjust the installation and that would fix the problem. I explained to this person that there was no room to adjust them due to the fact that the suspension provided had been made for 2018 and older Mercedes. I asked if I could return it and all I got was excuses and suggestions on how to modify a product that did not work for my vehicle. I also sent photographs to Summo so customer support could see where the problem lied.
