4:25 when I listened to the original song I had no clue what the hell he was doing. I sat listening for ages just trying to figure it out and had no clue and now I'm here
slowing it down and paying attention to the type of sound each drum is making can be really helpful for figuring out parts like this. when you slow it down, it becomes easier to tell things like kicks and toms apart
I am impressed by your faithfulness in transcribing Jimmy's drum lines. it was very perfect, congratulations man. Greetings from A7X fans here in Brazil.
I love this video. I really dislike when people try to make a cinematic experience during a cover and try to hard to look cool. You're just rocking it. The fill at 4:01 is one of my favorites from The Rev. I love how each fill before the chorus builds up and becomes that.
Same for most of the songs on the album, all bangers. I can only imagine that they just didn't quite fit the sound or theme of the album at the time, since we all know that the album songs are great as well. I just love the fact that their b sides are all album worthy.
Dud ethat was more than impressive. Not only the fact you are able to play that song but more than anything else the fact you executed that without a single ever so tiny mistake. Never in my life have I ever seen a video without some kind of huge post production that has been so flawless and perfect playing-wise. You are one of the best drummers I have ever seen
Now I can learn the song. You played it so flawlessly that now I have a guide to follow. How you did this without a guide is beyond me. You're a whole other level man. I'm beyond impressed with this.
What area are you in? Brazil? Arizona? New Hampshire? Came to learn the Tom beat, now I know how do do the Tom beat. Thank you sir! Added bonus that fill at 4:01 or so 👍🏽
who could guess this little guy today is destroying every animal as leaders song as soon as they get released.... oh boy, Chris you are really gifted man! congrats
One of the best drum covers I've ever seen, so clean and the drums and technique make it sound so much like the studio version, absolutely amazing stuff ❤
How does this only have 203 views!!? You fucking killed this bro. Great cover this my favorite song from the album. You should cover there version of flash of the blade.
This skilled drummer only have 794 subsribers? Whats wrong with you people? This video is watched for over 15k and yet only 794 subs.. wth.. ok I'll be your 795 sub bro. Keep it up and make more cover video,I'll watch it all 🙏
damn you were so tight, such a machine. may i give some advice? crash and hi hats cymbal will always be loud. might wanna put some muffler/silencer. i dont really know whats the term for those stuff
TheOriginal HiFi well I would definitely recommend playing along to different genres to improve your vocabulary. Metals always been my go to genre but as of recently I’ve been listening to jazz, funk, and others. Also, rudiments are key. They can be applied to basically everything. You’ll feel like a much much better player once you learn to apply rudiments to fills, grooves, etc. I hope this helps :)
It’s all about practice, practice, and more practice. If you practice playing along to your favorite songs and playing exercises to a metronome for an hour or two every day, you’ll get better at your drumming in months. I was born with the natural talent of music and mainly drums/percussion and I still practice every single day, trying new exercises and techniques, along with crazy time signatures and fast tempos. I use a custom metronome I have set to some songs I practice and play along to. But the main thing is even for a experienced drummer like me, I still practice...practice doesn’t make perfect, it makes permanent.
The sprint tension is the same as it is out of the box and the pedals sit a tad bit below the middle of the head. If I forgot to mention something let me know!
RYAN ADRIANSYAH good question! The double bass is fast in this but id argue that endurance is more important. Most of the double bass also runs through the fills which makes it even more tricky. Practicing the song over and over again helped me. You can play to a metronome too and see how long you can go at certain bpms. The bpm for this song is 92 so the double bass parts are 32nd notes. Also remember to slow down too if you’re having trouble at higher tempos! It’s important to know your limit. I hope this helps
4:02 amazing

jamieagemusic thanks man!
Tight !! Are you using the left kick pedal (when playing singles on the right) to make the kick sound tighter?
Are you asking if I’m playing both kicks in unison? If so, no I’m not
So with the double bass what are your pedal settings?
The sprint tension is the same as it is out of the box and the pedals sit a tad bit below the middle of the head. If I forgot to mention something let me know!
