Colored pencil myths

I advise you to develop an integral vision and look at the portrait with a defocused gaze) at the same time outline the points of the outer corners of the eyes, cheekbones, corners of the lips, brow arch, and so on)
I use the stroke solely for its form. It comes out so neater and cleaner. Gradually gaining tone and flattening the shadows. Used ocher backing to summarize the skin tone. Above, I already layered the color of the lips, eyes, eyebrows. It is important to squint more often so as not to accidentally overdo it with detail.All the same, regard the eyes as eye sockets, take the lower part of the face into the shadow, and the lower area of the nose too. Depending on the lighting, the forehead and nose are the most illuminated. Watch for edge contrasts and nasolabial folds. If darkened, they will treacherously age your subject. Do not be afraid to locally paint over eye sockets, chin, forehead with layers. Try to smash your head on a plane, like a stump, this will help you deal with the lighting.
By the way, if you have doubts about symmetry, turn the work towards the mirror. The jambs will be visible in it)

And the transitions have become softer, the portrait is more solid, which means that you can safely emphasize edge touches in the lights. Be sure to let the paper dry. Otherwise, the paper will tear. It depends on what kind of course. The paper in this sketchbook is not suitable for this. As a result, I got small tears and abrasions, especially under my nose 🙈 right, a whole layer of fiber was shaved off. Next time I'll take my favorite canson paper, it will definitely not let me down. Just after I washed out the first layer with water, I stopped liking the portrait and generally wanted to curtail all this activity 😅but here, as a rule, a second wind should open, defocused vision should perk up and work immediately changed. О-о, я тоже обладатель Marco Renoir FineArt на 100 цветов, но не акварельных, а обычных. Ждут своего звездного часа 🙂
Очень хорошо наносятся на бумагу. Можно конечно рисовать и обычными детскими, но они не настолько насыщенные по цвету как Renoir.
Чтобы бумага не рвалась и не царапалась при сильном нажиме карандаша, подкладываю под бумагу лист оргстекла или обычное зеркало подходящего размера.
Очень классные карандаши у этой фирмы!)тоже не нарадуюсь))) а по поводу "подложить оргстекло снизу" я даже не задумывалась 🤔 спасибо за наводку!)

Я подруге отправила карндаши Мастер-Класс, просто цветные, а у нее были ренуар тоже обычные, не акварельные. В общем дизайн подозрительно похож))
